I found some 'before' pictures, though the room has actually been even drabber than this for the last year. The white phone corner was rebuilt due to water damage. Then some friends helped me (THANKYOUTHANKYOU!) peel off this 14 year old wallpaper. But with some family health problems and snags in getting the floor in, I just couldn't face the rest of the work till now.

The wallpaper was our quick fix when we first moved in, to cover the amateur stencilling of the previous owners. The walls were flat off white (emphasis on the off) with a top border of oversized high gloss turquoise hearts like the one you see peeking out of that top corner. PLUS, between those, there were pink tulips with green leaves drawn in, I kid you not, CRAYON.

HATED the gray backsplash (see before photo.) Removable adhesive used.
