Still-life, colour digital image of creative / alternative modern living from the aspect of a kitchen interior garden view

In Olive Sand House I combine the the desertlike surroundings and olive green/tan colour scheme of Whitebrick Sand House with the striped architecture of for example Green Rock House, Calmwater Cliff House and Vanilla House that has in some way become my trademark.

Boxes (or cases) stacked asymmetrically on top of each other form this modern house. At the same time it´s an angle case study.

After a detour on the planet Ademis I have now returned to modern architecture. Dark red, white and black are the main colours of this house. Fully interiored with several cozy corners to read a book.

Lilium Eco House [WIP] is named after the lily flower. It is an eco-house with solar panels on the roof, large windows facing south and west, vegetables growing in the conservatory, high levels of insulation and daylight and material absorbing the warmth of the sun. Yet, it is a comfortable house with open social areas and modern design.

My second take on micro scale interior building. This time I built a tiny kitchen. The vignette measures 8 x 6 studs.

Blue Striped House (still work in progress) is a U-shaped house inspired by contemporary Scandinavian architecture Autumn. Blue, tan and grey stripes. Irregular windows. Clean furnishings.

Dune House MOC (still work in progress).

Coral House MOC is a contemporary home with influences from both modernism and industrial style. It is located in tropical surroundings and has a colour scheme inspired by the snake that gave house its name.

The main house body is mainly built with reddish brown grille bricks, trans-clear panels and plated walls in tan, reddish brown, dark red and black. One of the plated walls "fold over" the house to form a roof. One vertical and two horizontal and white cuboids are built with SNOT technique and attached to the main house body to achieve contrast.

The ground floor hosts an open plan living room and kitchen, a calm corner with sea view, a bedroom and a spacious bathroom. Upstairs you find a room with sofa and chess corner, a small bathroom and a roof terrace.

Orange Beach House MOC is a comfortable hide-away by the sea. It's a split-level house built directly on the beach. The idea of sandy cliffs and ground terrace with a small pool came to me first and then the rest of the house emerged along the way.

Downstairs you find a livingroom, bedroom and bathroom. Upstairs you find a calm room with sea view, kitchen and study. Fully interiored.

The building technique used to create the beach was new to me, but I think it turned out well. I used lots of curved slopes...

The building process is further described on my Instagram page (@betweenbrickwalls). Link in bio.

Modern kitchen in black, dark tan, tan and LBG. Fridge and freezer, oven, stove and sink.

Modern living inspired by old open-air-bath architecture as the house is standing on pillars in water and is offering an open space for bathing in the middle.

You enter the terrace through the rock on the backside of the house. On the terrace you find a small outdoor kitchen and table with chairs made of ladders and steering wheels. Kitchen, reading corner, livingroom and sauna with shower on first floor.

The house is entered from the terrace. A high plated wall goes though this floor leading from the hallway to the master bedroom and bathroom. Here you sleep with a 180 degrees sea view.

The floor below is reached by a floating staircase attached to the wall. A corridor with a resting chair (made of life preservers) and glass cabinet combines two parts of the house. One of them is hosting a kitchen and dining area. The other one is hosting a livingroom. Here you also find a small sauna and shower room with a ladder leading directly down to the water.

This is my third house built into a rock. The other two are called "Green Rock House" and "Calmwater Cliff House".

Modern design meets 1970´s vibes in this house. Fully furnished of course. The green foliage in the garden makes sharp contrast to the clean and box-shaped building.

Kitchen of Lava House MOC.

Lava House is a modern home with a colour scheme inspired by the 1970's and hot lava. Dark orange, dark red, reddish brown and black are dominant colours.

The house is situated on a volcano shaped rock surrounded by a stream of water and sand. In some way it reminds me of Calmwater Cliff House MOC, but it is still very different.

Inside the house you find a fully furnished living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom downstairs and TV corner upstairs.

The grille tiled roof can easily be lifted off in order to display the interior.

My plan is to display Lava House at a Swebrick exhibition in Hässleholm, Sweden, in the middle of August 2018.

A floating home by the sea. Modern and comfortable. The house is surrounded by a wooden deck and shallow water. A bridge connects the deck to the guay. Fully interiored as always. Kitchen, toilet and living room downstairs. Bathroom, bedroom and storage space upstairs. You find more photos of the interiors in my photostream.

Inspiration comes from childhood summers and sailing with my parents. It was a challenge to catch the maritime feeling with details such as railings and stays and at the same time keep the design clean and modern.

I used dark blue bricks to create the water surface. The more common technique with transparent tiles or plates wasn't really on option because it didn't fit in the colour scheme.

Falu red summer cottages are a common sight in the Scandinavian archipelago. They were often built a long time ago in the 19th or 20th Century. Here is my contemporary take on a Falu red cottage.

Kitchen close-up of Calmwater Cliff House MOC. Open plan with dining area and kitchen.

Calmwater Cliff House is located on a cliff by the beach. Two floors with a terrace on each floor. Downstairs you find a spacious kitchen and dining area, a bathroom and home office. Upstairs you find a music corner with sea view, a bedroom and the main entrance.

As you see it´s a LEGO house and I´ve mainly used the colours black, dark tan, tan and reddish brown.

I wanted to make a modern home - in some way inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and the colours of the 20th century - updated to 21st century lifestyle.

Kitchen of Vanilla House.

Vanilla House is a modern home with two floors. The ground floor house body is tan coloured and shaped like an "L". This is cut through by an inverted "L" consisting of many small plates in tan, dark tan, DBG, LBG and black.

Downstairs you find a kitchen, TV-lounge and bathroom. A black, floating staircase leads to the bedroom upstairs. The bedroom has glass walls to let in the light. The roof offers shadow.

The geometrical shapes inspired me to start building this MOC. In some way it is like a puzzle game.

Before I disassembled this house I had to take some better photos of the interior. Here is my original description of this MOC:

"House of Three is a contemporary Scandinavian family home. I've tried to catch contemporary Scandinavian architecture in colours, floor plan and roof design. The interior and furniture in inspired by IKEA and other Scandinavian designs. Comfortable living suitable for a small family."

Autumn Stream House MOC is a modern home lying among the trees coloured by autumn. Underneath a small stream is living its own life.

Viggo Johansen (1851–1935) was a Danish painter and active member of the group of Skagen Painters who met every summer in the north of Jutland. He was one of Denmark's most prominent painters in the 1890s.

As a boy, Johansen already had a talent for drawing which was recognized by Wilhelm Marstrand. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts from 1868 to 1875, specializing in figure painting, but did not pass the graduation examination. His earliest works are from Hornbæk where he painted between 1872 and 1876 with works such as Et Maaltid and Nabokonens Besøg. He first became associated with the Skagen Painters in 1875, encouraged by his fellow students Karl Madsen and Michael Ancher. It is said that in Skagen, he showed just as much interest in playing Mozart on the hotel piano or Gluck on the church organ as in painting. He married Anna Ancher's cousin Martha Møller in 1880. Martha often served as a model, for example in Køkkeninteriør (Kitchen interior, 1884) — which may have been inspired by Anna Ancher's similarly composed The Girl in the Kitchen — Sovekammerscene (Bedroom Scene, 1885) and Børnene vaskes (Washing the Children, 1888) which were painted partially on the basis of photographs.

From 1885, he exhibited in Paris; there he was inspired by Claude Monet, particularly in his use of colour as can be seen in his painting Christian Bindslev er syg (Christian Bindslev is ill, 1890), which also shows the influence of Christian Krohg, one of the other Skagen painters. After his return from Paris, his paintings took on lighter tones; he had noted the absence of black in the works of the French artists and considered his own earlier works too dark by comparison. Nevertheless, Johansen is remembered particularly for the subdued lighting effects of his interiors — many of which were painted after his visit to Paris — as in his Glade jul (Merry Christmas, 1891),[note 1] Aftenpassiar (Evening Talk, 1886) and Aftenselskab i kunstnerens hjem (Evening Gathering at the Artist's Home, 1899) and his scenes of domestic family life, but he also painted landscapes (at Skagen, at Tisvilde, and at his childhood home, the fishing port of Dragør outside Copenhagen), still lifes and portraits. After a falling out with P.S. Krøyer in 1891, Johansen's relationship with the Anchers was strained and he and his family did not visit Skagen for several years.

From 1888 to 1906, he taught at the Artists Academy's School for Women. He then became a professor there until 1920 and, for a time, was one of its directors.

"Burn this house

Burn it blue

Heart running on empty

So lost without you

But the night sky blooms with fire

And the burning bed floats higher

And she’s free to fly…

Woman so weary

Spread your unbroken wings

Fly free as the swallow sings

Come to the fireworks

See the dark lady smile

She burns…

And of the dark days

Painted in dark gray hues

They fade with the dream of you

Wrapped in red velvet

Dancing the night away

I burn…

Midnight blue

Spread those wings

Fly free with the swallows

Fly one with the wind"
