I have been seeing a lot of commercials about ice balls. Ice balls are better because they have less surface area than cubes and melt slower. I found a kitchen hack on how to make ice ball. You cut a tennis ball part way through, put a water balloon in the tennis ball and fill it with water, tie off the balloon and wrap elastic bands around the ball. Place the tennis ball in the freezer and wait.
It does work but I don't think it's worth the trouble. An ice ball mold is between $10,00 - $20.00.

As we age we tend to forget things...right? This Pot Minder reminds me that the water is boiling because it makes such a clacking sound there's no way you can possibly miss it. I've been using this little gadget for many years!
My wife wasn't about when I was thinking of this shot but I did look at Cathy's link for ideas and caught this one! Yes, nice and simple and when you need more work top space just put a chopping board across your kitchen sink and voila!!

I have always used a Sugar Bear in my brown sugar. You soak the little bear in water then put it in the bag. It keeps the sugar nice and soft.
