From charity shop yesterday.
It has its original wooden back and metal clips and metal chain to hang. I like that it is vertical rather than horizontal and has etching on it. I just love this style of bevelled art deco mirror.
The lady in the charity shop said it had been there for a looooooong time, constantly overlooked. WTF?
I then carried it (unwrapped) into the supermarket where lots of people admired it and made mirror related jokes (eg, "don't let me look in there, I'll break it" or "are you checking on who is the fairest?").

Tampoco se lo que esa palabra significa. No me importa lo que opinasen los ingleses, tampoco los rusos, ni menos los minimalistas o lacanianos.
Y lo que si que no me importa en muchas ocasiones, es si algo tiene un trasfondo. Un por qué, una lógica, un significado, una moral.
Miro estas escenas y en su mal gusto encuentro una enorme belleza.
Me conmueven todas esas cosas feas juntas formando algo tremendamente hortera. Otras me horrorizan, me aterran, me hacen una tremenda gracia. Incluso a veces me dan ganas de vomitar.

More pullips are coming soon ^^ but let's concentrate on these ones ^^I opened my batgirl first because she is the twin sister of the other batgirl wich i have(and i really like her a lot) and because i had to change her blue eyes ,too simple for my taste.Im not a huge fan of blue eyes ,only if they are holographic or very special like ice blue or something ;) the other 2 are just great too ,i really loved the first tokidoki (i didn't photograph her yet but i will do )so i had to get the other one .I don't like the pink color specially so i was a bit sceptic about this lunarosa,in the end ,she is very sweet looking ,like she's coming from a candy world or something,i really like her :P about supergirl she was always one of my favourites super heroes when i was a child :) I liked the supergirl movie a lot and still like it even if it is kitsh for some people ,this is why i like it .

I got this at an estate sale. Its has 273 marked on the front. On the back, there are no markings, but it looks just like the other 'Colourpicture' Publication. It is postmarked July 12, 1945 from Port Neches, Texas.

A wonderful example of a transition guitar. The shape is reminiscent of baroque guitars but is single strung with six courses. When I saw this guitar there were no obvious modifcations the peg head and the bridge does not appear to be altered. I've seen pictures of this same guitar in a four course configuration with a shorter string length. My guess is that the bodies were made in a production mode and the bridges and necks were made according to what players wanted. A most interesting feature is the border decoration is ink lined rather than inlayed. An interesting instrument despite it being neither fish nor fowl. After months of pondering I can't decide if this is a fine example of a transitional or kitsh of the day.
Okay I've given it some thought: It's the equivalent of the Harmony Archtops of the 50's and 60"s. Not ever destined to be a quality instrument , merely utilitarian and a bit of a turd design wise.

Many houses in Harar, Ethiopia have exactly the same layout and interior decorations. This is typical of a guesthouse at which you can stay for about $10-15 a night (meals included).
