INFAMOUS LANDMARK
Chow Kit Market is recognised as one of Malaysia’s most infamous landmarks. Located at the northern end of Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, it is divided into two halves: the first half is home to the city’s unofficial Red Light District, while the other part is KL’s most popular local market. Even though it is not as well known to tourists, Chow Kit Market is definitely exciting. However it is not a place for the faint hearted, with vendors who are pushy and it takes a thick skin to get serious bargains here.
The spotlight on Chow Kit Market focuses on its main street: a lively and culturally-enriching scene. Although the area may not be the most kosher quarter of KL it plays host to the largest wet market in Malaysia. Also known as the Bazaar Baru Chow Kit, this rustic makeshift market is a kaleidoscope of colours and fragrances. The bazaar is shaded by oversized, colourful umbrellas and divided into a wet and dry section with the colourful souk commonly frequented by locals, especially the neighbourhood’s Malay community.

Castle Beach Fire Department is proud to present the brand new Hazmat 1. Built on a 2017 Spartan Gladiator cab with SVI bodywork, this rig was delivered on May 6, 2017 and replaces the 2016 Seagrave Marauder II Hazmat rig that was totaled in an accident. As the role of the Hazardous Materials Team evolves, so did the apparatus. Differences in the new rig as compared to the previous Seagrave include the addition of a slide-out compartment, which added space for command personnel. While it appears that the rig has less compartmentation than the previous rig, the rig contains the same amount of equipment and still has extra space for new technologies, thanks to the awesome work of the manufacturer! This apparatus can serve multiple roles on the scene such as a command center, rehab area, mobile laboratory, and a changing area.

Kit Fox, my last photos of 2016! The only wild one I had ever seen was crossing the road in front of the car last year when I was driving to Tucson at 6 am. A friend told me that there was a Kit Fox near the campsite. I was very excited! I armed myself with my camera, flash , tripod and associated gear for an evening of shooting. I was out most of the day and assumed the extra camera battery was charged, but... Then, I use my flash so rarely, I tend to forget everything about it between one time and the other. So, in general, the photo quality was disappointing. We used a flashlight to focus on the fox so the camera auto-focus could work. To our surprise, there were two foxes, not one! Anyhow, my batteries are now charged, and I will practice, practice, practice with the flash before I go back! and wait until it is a bit warmer. We seem to be getting into another cold snap. Ajo, Arizona, USA. 31 December 2016.

A SE Finecast N7 class whitemetal kit on a vintage Trix 0-6-2 chassis. The Trix TTR chassis, with its mid-mounted motor, was a relatively easy fettle to fit the body.. This chassis maintains the vintage Trix theme of "Claremont Road" and enables the N7 to run very happily on coarse scale Super-4 track. Image done as a collage rather than 6 separate pics which wouldn't signify much on their own.
Inspired by Vieral. I like his one better, but I still do like the turnout of my head.
The head and robes are made out of Sculpy.
This was painted by me. The paint on the head is a combination of some green Testor and shiny white acrylic.
