230/365 Tuesday 18 August 2015 - When my sister in law and niece saw a photo of me in Amsterdam with a kipling bag borrowed from my mum they donated the ones they no longer use for any future trips. I remember we all 'chipped' in to buy the small one for my niece in Bournemouth when she was about 7!
O it's Tommy this, an' Tommy that, an' "Tommy go away";
But it's "Thank you, Mister Atkins," when the band begins to play-
The band begins to play, my boys, the band begins to play,
O it's "Thank you Mr Atkins," when the band begins to play.

My mother-in-law has recently confided to us her father's "Soldier's Pay Book for use on Active Service" , of which this is a photo of pp. 12-13. There is also the notebook that went with him all the way to Gallipoli and back. First of all we ought to make high quality copies of the lot, and then I can enjoy myself with varied photographic treatment.
Olá meninas!
Pensei que essa semana seria mais sossegada... Mas me enganei!
Beijo.

Definitely one of the weirdest things I've been asked to paint. 2 giant cupcake sculptures on a roundabout in Rugby. As a part of a campaign to mark 100 years since the start of World War 1, I was commissioned to produce this poppy field themed artwork. Painted with spray cans over 2 days. The project and the roundabout are sponsored by Mr Kipling! But I wasn't paid in cakes :(
Kipling shows off her new summer outfit! Hair apparently influenced by a recent viewing of Star Wars! LOL

80% of Kipling now gone. The tendering for Blackmore Tower's demolition (tall block here) will begin shortly.
Kipling's home Bateman at Burwash, is now a publie museum dedicated to the author. After his death in 1939 his wife bequeathed it to the National Trust for the Places of Historic Interest and is now a publie meuseum dedicated to the author. Elsie, his only child who lived to mautrity, died childless in 1976. It was his home from 1902 to 1936. "Behold us, lawful owners of a grey stone lichened house—A.D. 1634 over the door—beamed, panelled, with old oak staircase, and all untouched and unfaked. It is a good and peaceable place. We have loved it ever since our first sight of it." They brought furniture from round 1634 to keep it in keeping with the house.
