This kind of came out looking like a painting but it's not. The back ground is a painting on a wall. When I took this shot I knew I would use it somewhere. I thought about Window's Wednesday..:) But, since there aren't real windows I went with Bench Monday
This is a thank you to everyone who has been so kind and supportive, I really appreciate it , in fact I've been overwhelmed by your wonderful words. To be kind is by Swans, and Flickr is such a positive influence, and I'd like to show a reflection to reflect back your love and kindness. Thanks so much , Paul :))

I heard a whoop and looked,
the little girl had so much joy....
...lens was right and exposure time etc quickly set...

Thank you all for your kind and wonderful comments.
The undershot of trees is not a composite, just looking up.
It was originally a color shot I took back in 2016 that I filtered to contrast the shapes of the different branches.
This was the 5th version of a figure drawing I did for this theme of winter leaving and the one that won out.

Happy Spring and Happy Sliders Sunday!
Kind of reminded me of a deep space nebula shot!
Was torn between the shot for this week, flip-flopped between this and a high speed capture created by dropping coins into a shot glass of water, but ended up with this. It’s a cobweb on our outside tap that I misted with a water atomiser and lit with LED lights.
HMM!
I am inspired by many things. Musically by the genius of Miles Davis, hence my title which refers to, IMHO, one of the best jazz albums of all time. Likewise I come to Flickr for photographic inspiration. My views on photography and indeed the many genres of photography that I attempt have been heavily influenced by so many talented people here on Flickr. One of them is Joseph Pearson Images, a London architectural photographer who has photographed so many of the same buildings and structures around London that I have but both of us do it in our own way. Its always interesting for me to see his take on a building that I am very familiar with myself and see what his 'eye' picked out. Usually it's something I've missed and so my education continues!
Yesterday Joseph posted a picture of one of my favourite underground stations here in London, Southwark station, and it got me looking back at some of the pictures I've taken over the years in this most photogenic of stations. I was surprised to see that I'd never posted this escalator shot so thought I'd do so now. Taken pre-covid, way back in 2019.
Sethi was trying to hide from Tofu (not very successfully, though). Tofu can't really accept yet that Sethi isn't the kind of cat who wants to play and Sethi sometimes feels stalked. :)
Dandelion hatred is kind of ironic given the widespread concern about declining pollinators. Dandelion flowers are favorite nectar sources for honeybees, butterflies, and moths. Butterfly and moth caterpillars also eat the leaves. Dandelions are essential for tea, salads, wine, medicine, etc. Give dandelions a second chance and some long-awaited love, even when they're dead. Love these beautiful puffballs! (Click Large and feel the softness!)
Thank you very much for your kind comments and visit, much appreciated!

Mrs. K was kind enough to capture a shot of me sloshing in the rain across the Alaska Tundra to photograph an Alaska Brown Bear.
It was the thrill of a lifetime and truly a Bucket List Item.
In the Alaska Tundra, conditions are cold. The summer is brief, with temperatures above freezing lasting for only a few weeks at most. However, this "warm" summer coincides with periods of almost 24 hour daylight, so plant growth can be explosive.
A wide variety of plants species can be found on the tundra. What most of them have in common are growth characteristics - they tend to grow low to the ground.
Among the common types of tundra plants are willows, sedges and grasses. Many in dwarf forms compared to their growth forms in warmer climes. Lichens and mosses are also important, particularly in the harshest climates.
The long day length that accompanies the short summer is a boon to plants, which are able to photosynthesize 24 hours a day in some places. This leads to rapid plant growth.
A surprising number of insects are able to endure the harsh winters (many as frost-resistant eggs); these also undergo rapid development in the summer. Many bird species migrate from southern areas to the tundra each year for the reduced competition and plentiful insect harvest; this rich diet enables them to rear their young in an otherwise bleak environment.

Day 301/366 of Project 365 (Tuesday, 2020 October 27 - 170th consecutive daily photo): Two adjacent dogwood leaves--one red with tinges of yellow, the other green with tinges of red, and their tips curling in opposite directions--photographed on a cold, dark, dreary, overcast, and drizzling morning.
