Am I kin to Sorrow,

That so oft

Falls the knocker of my door

Neither loud nor soft,

But as long accustomed,

Under Sorrow's hand?

Marigolds around the step

And rosemary stand,

And then comes Sorrow

And what does Sorrow care

For the rosemary

Or the marigolds there?

Am I kin to Sorrow?

Are we kin?

That so oft upon my door

Oh, come in!

bếu quá hông ai yêu :))

- Ei, Kin!!! – Disse me aproximando animada do garoto que tinha acabado de acordar.

- E aí, Thai! Tudo bem?

- Tudo!

Logo vai poder começar a guardar dinheiro.

- Maldito! – Disse me cortando. - Está bem, está bem. Me convenceu. Você pega a câmera!

KINNER KAILASH | A PRAYER AND AN OFFERING TO LORD SHIVA.

IN THE LAND OF THE LAMA | I came back to the city after spending a week in a mythical, fabled land of indescribable beauty. A week without connectivity to cell phones, internet and city life. 21st century time and space seemed like a distant memory. Time stands still in the Land of the Lama. It was an extraordinary, unforgettable journey through some of the most dangerous road conditions in the world. I overcame my fears (both imagined and real) with a little help from my camera. The urge to capture something real and meaningful can lead one into zones where one may otherwise never have ventured. The meaning of life resides in many things. For me it resides in photography. Everything else is secondary.

Female chimp ignores her baby's tantrum. High in the trees Mahale Mountains.

Our main goal for this safari was to see Chimps in the wild. Nomad's Greystoke Camp on the edge of Lake Tanganyika certainly did not disappoint delivering 3 morning treks all will fun filled chimp encounters with the habituated M Group. The guiding here is exceptional as is the camp itself.

Mahale Mountains National Park lies on the shores of Lake Tanganyika in Kigoma Region, Tanzania. Named after the Mahale Mountains range that is within its borders, the park has several unusual characteristics. First, it is one of only two protected areas for chimpanzees in the country. (The other is nearby Gombe Stream National Park made famous by the researcher Jane Goodall.) The chimpanzee population in Mahale Mountains National Park is the largest known and due to its size and remoteness, the chimpanzees flourish. It is one of the very few parks in Africa that must be experienced by foot. There are no roads or other infrastructure within the park boundaries, and the only way in and out of the park is via boat on the lake.

The Kinnaur Kailash (locally known as Kinner Kailash) is a mountain in the Kinnaur district of the Indian state Himachal Pradesh. The Kinnaur Kailash has a height of 6050 meters and is considered as sacred by both Hindu and Buddhist Kinnauris. This mountain is sometimes confused with the Mount Kailash in Tibet. The Kinnaur Kailash Range borders the district of Kinnaur in the south and is dominated by the Kinnaur Kailash (elevation- 6050m) and Jorkanden (elevation- 6473m) peaks.[1] Jorkanden is the highest peak in the Kinner-Kailash range; one can admire it comfortably from a bungalow at Kalpa. Often mistaken with Kinner Kailash (which is a smaller holy pillar to north of it). Jorkanden has been climbed by the I.T.B.P IN 1974 and by the IndianPara Regiment in 1978.[2] The pass accessible on the trek is the Charang La at an altitude of 5300m. It is one of the toughest treks in Himachal Pradesh.

As seen from Sangla valley. What a site for tourist lodge! The rising road seen in the foreground passes through this picturesque valleyto small settlements of Batseri, Rakchham, Mastarang and ultimately Chitkul.Kinner kailash peak( 19800ft) is seen in the background.

The first instalment from my recent trip to Venice.

When I visited Venice last year before hosting a workshop with Rohan, the weather gods were not my friend. This has probably been mentioned on more than once in my previous posts (of probably all my images to be fair) so it gave me the opportunity to scout around looking for subjects to shoot and I found this spot on Giudecca.

When Rohan arrived, he seemed to bring the aforementioned weather gods with him for the duration of the workshop and then when I got the opportunity to shoot again for myself, they fled (I think the moral of the story is... go with Rohan ;-)

Suffice to say, I didn't come away with the shot I was looking for despite visiting this location probably 5 times alone last year and thankfully only once this year.

However, my plans for this year for Venice were different. The plan was to go back and shoot Venice itself rather than a continuation of my minimal work, but my intentions were short lived as the visibility was shocking, therefore, I re-visited some already covered ground to see if I could succeed where I'd failed before.

To turn a negative in to a positive, when I arrived here the conditions were exactly what I had been wanting from this location the year before. The tide was perfect, the light was good and there was just enough fog to provide good clarity, but mask the land in the distance.

Just to make sure I didn't walk away from this location for the 6th time empty handed, I shot this at: 24mm, 35mm, 45mm and 70mm... as I knew from my previous encounters it was a difficult one to compose because of some foreground that had no place in the image.

This image is the 35mm version, which is a 3 shot stitched image taken as portrait images on my 17-40mm. Normally I provide the EXIF data at the bottom of my posts, but although I know this was 77s with the LEE Big Stopper, that's about as far as it goes, I was working fast and was changing grads left, right and centre.

As for the title, these posts actually mark where the telephone lines go, but they remind me of, "matchstick men" and seeing as there is a, "little family" of them I thought, "Kin" was quite suitable.

I came home to California last week and after getting In N Out my friend and I drove into the forest for a photoshoot. The whole day was a blur and I didn't have time to edit this before I left for southern California where I've been camping for a few days. Several excuses later, I finally had time to edit and upload this picture.

This is where I feel I belong- surrounded by my friends, my family, trees and sunshine. It feels so good to be back.

Eu VOU me controlar!
