Every year our school does a fundraiser, where art objects made by each class are auctioned off. This year's Kindergarden project combined two of my favorite things - vintage and kids drawings. I found a lovely vintage necklace, and we substituted for the brass beads which were quite unattractive, some shrinky dink beads which were illustrated by the children. The result I think is pretty fantastic!

I stitched and tinted this piece as a gift for my favorite Irish pub for St. Patrick's day. The original drawing was on their bulletin board.

Now here is a little fishie that isn't too fussed about anything. Fishy wishie is a character from Rob Towner's children's story book adventures and oh boy, does he like to have adventures.

I bet you don't have shopping lists as nice as we do. This is what makes it so nice to get our 7 year old to write them!

Thursday, February 17, 2011 Song of the day: Muse "Feeling Good"
This is a photo of MORE goodies that Bethany brought me from our students. Too cute. My favorite is the one on the top- you can't see it but it says, "Miss Tracy, Be nice" hahahahaha. Then it says "get well" but I like the "be nice" part better. These kiddos are the cutest kiddos ever!!!!
Recovery continues to go well. I had a hard time sleeping last night cause I needed to sleep with my head elevated so I was sleepy and pretty much slept all day. For supper, I went out with my mom and Betha and we went to Rosatti's and then my calves started hurting. It was very bizarre- sore calves. I figured it's from not standing/walking for a day and a half??? I still don't know but it's strange. I also still have a really bad cough that I'm not sure where that's coming from. My voice still sucks and I'm hoping that gets better soon. It seems I have many other things to complain about besides my sinuses.... That doesn't make sense but I'm not complaining :) I have yet to take any pain meds, too. Go me! (although I did take some tylenol just now for a headache). I'm very thankful for the smoothness of this all!
