Nouveau Tutorial sur les Textures
sim: Wandering New York
uber: maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/KaidenTray%20Landscapes/19...
Tune: Hometown www.youtube.com/watch?v=asURM4uVkRA
Wren: I think I started to worry about Twain when he came into our classes later and later ...
Kitten: Wren is correct. Twain rarely paid attention to the speakers. He is known for being rude. But, now, something was different.
Wren: Yes. He seemed , ... as though he was 'zoned out' .. and that is when Kitten noticed ....
Kitten: ... well, I just happened to be glancing over at Twain and I thought I saw him bring this tiny bottle up to his mouth ... and ..
Wren: Exactly ! I caught that too ! Twain quickly tipped the bottle back and swallowed it whole !
Kitten: [nods] ... I think it was , ... and Wren, tell me if I'm wrong on this, .. I think it was 'Parrot Blue' .....
www.amazon.com/Apple-Barrel-PROMOABIII-Acrylic-2-Ounce/dp...
Wren: You are right ... Parrot Blue, Acrylic Paint !! Twain was hooked ... [sighs]
Kitten: Yes. You could see some 'blue' just under his lip .. it was sad. Then he placed his fingers deeper into his pocket and grabbed another bottle.... only this time it was .. um .. ??? .. .
Wren: I think it was Candy-Pink.
I'm almost sure. He really enjoyed switching up flavors.
....and he was listening to that crazy song by Cleopatrick called: Hometown. ... Did you see some of those lyrics Kitten ??
Kitten: [nods and sighs] Yes .. I watched the song on youtube and,, that song is not the Twain I know. He usually listens to Bruno Major ! This song .. with the lyrics right on the screen .. what is that all about ? ...' "life is a bitch with no mouth and no lips"
Wren: [shakes her head sadly] ..I think the streets of New York must have really gotten to him ?
Twain: [Back at his little Studio]
' I dun'no .. I think I first started using the paint after the class on 'Thirds' .. I just didn't get it ?
How am I supposed to crop my photos into Thirds ?!! [pounds his little mesh fist on his studio table]. I can understand cutting a pie or ? .. a watermelon into Thirds. ... but when they talked about it in class .. and showed the photos ... I think that was the tipping point for me. That's when I turned to these little babies as my salvation .. [points to the little flavored bottles of Acrylic Paints].
They really help me get through the day. The 'paints' also helped me get off of Bruno Major music. Ya know ? .. I've expanded into different music .. like this deep stuff .. Hometown by cleopatrick.
Which, btw, is also the background music that is used for this amazing dance troupe that you really all should watch from AGT .. but it's only worth watching if you have your video screen fully filled .. fully open with this .. or it isn't worth watching 1/2 open .. they will blow your mind !!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZdXlU_VChw
So worth watching twice even !
Twain: I'll, ... I'll try to kick the 'paint' and be a better student in class ... I didn't mean to worry Wren or Kitten. They've both been so good to me. Well ... until next time .. see ya !! And be sure to watch that dance troupe with your screen / video fully open ... they are amazing ! Thanks ! 💖

Result of recent rains on the playground in Rincon Valley Community Park in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, California. Taken with my iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Photo is shot an early morning at Nanjing South Railway Station in China. The train holdning there is the China Railway High-speed train (250-300 km/h), very cool! The photo is a great example of why you should always have a small camera on you, even if you are busy and carrying a lot of stuff like I did that morning :-)
The photo is under Creative Commons license, use it as you will, just give credit :-)

National Taichung Opera House, Taichung Taiwan. It was designed by Japanese architect Toyo Ito in collaboration with Cecil Balmond at Arup AGU. Taken with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. Converted to B&W with Silver Efex Pro 2.
A quite challenging picture to take due to the wide dynamic range.
In the end I bracketed 3 exposures and blended them together to take full advantage of the highlights and shadows
I like the mix of agricultural crop..barley I think..and the poppies and wild flowers.
At the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War the poppies have particular significance.

This shot was taken about 7 1/2 years ago in December with an old Sony NEX-5N.
Most of the time this end of 2nd Beach called (Surfer's End) in Middletown, RI is filled with local surfers. For whatever reason on this morning no surfers had ventured out. Too cold!!

There are two Disney Store Limited Edition Brave items that were first noticed on the US Disney Store website on May 14, 2012, but were not part of the new arrivals group. In fact, when they were first noticed (by browsing on keyword 'brave') they were both already sold out. By next day, they were already not searchable by keyword (but the pages were still viewable via a direct link or product code). I wonder whether these were actually for sale at some earlier date, or are merely placeholders for a future release.
The items and web links to them are as follows:

A combination of 12 exposures.
4 sets of 3 bracketed exposures at 2ev settings.
Each set of 3 exposures blended using "merge to HDR" in Lightroom .
The 4 sets then "merged to Panorama" in Lightroom.
The resulting big file then processed to my liking.

Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American
Keyword: snickerdoodle cookies
Servings: 24
Equipment
kitchenaid mixer
baking sheet
parchment paper baking sheets
measuring cups and spoons
spatula set
turner
cookie scoop
Ingredients
1 cup Unsalted Butter (softened)
1 1/2 cups Sugar
2 large Eggs
2 teaspoons Vanilla
2 3/4 cup Flour
1 1/2 teaspoon Cream of Tartar (for less tang, use 1 teaspoon)
1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
3/4 teaspoon Salt
Cinnamon-Sugar Mixture:
1/4 cup Sugar
1 1/2 Tablespoons Cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar for 4-5 minutes until light and fluffy. Scrape the sides of the bowl and add the eggs and vanilla. Cream for 1-2 minutes longer.
Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt, just until combined.
In a small bowl, stir together sugar and cinnamon.
If time allows, wrap the dough and let refrigerate for 20-30 minutes. Roll into small balls until round and smooth. Drop into the cinnamon-sugar mixture and coat well. Using a spoon, coat for a second time, ensuring the cookie balls are completely covered. *To make flatter snickerdoodles, press down in the center of the ball before placing in the oven. This helps to keep them from puffing up in the middle. *
Place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Bake for 9-11 minutes. Let cool for several minutes on baking sheet before removing from the pan.
