A quite challenging picture to take due to the wide dynamic range.
In the end I bracketed 3 exposures and blended them together to take full advantage of the highlights and shadows
I like the mix of agricultural crop..barley I think..and the poppies and wild flowers.
At the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War the poppies have particular significance.

This shot was taken about 7 1/2 years ago in December with an old Sony NEX-5N.
Most of the time this end of 2nd Beach called (Surfer's End) in Middletown, RI is filled with local surfers. For whatever reason on this morning no surfers had ventured out. Too cold!!

A walk in Hay Scenic Reserve.. it was lovely and cool.

It was warm and wonderful so we packed up a lunch and headed for the hills and bays around the banks peninsula. It reached will over 30c today.. a bit too hot at times and there was no wind at all. We had our lunch here at Pigeon Bay. This the place were my mother and father lived when they first got married. My father grew up here.
Meaning of place name
So named by whalers because the forest at the bay was alive with keruru or wood pigeons.
Pigeon Bay was settled by members of Ngāi Tūāhuriri living in three settlements there. This bay would become a popular place to settle for Europeans who came there in the 1800s. First to settle were whalers, then French settlers who would eventually settle in Akaroa. In 1842, Scottish immigrants the Sinclair and Hay families arrived.

Soft early-morning light on rugged and colorful badlands formations.
On the final full day of our early-April 2019 photography visit to Death Valley we decided to head for a familiar location where I enjoy photographing in the morning. After being closed earlier in the season this area had finally reopened — flooding of washes in the area had interfered with access, and repairs had be recently completed.
The photographic opportunities in this area — and, to be honest, in many places — depend a lot on the specific qualities of the light during a visit. I've been here where clouds turned everything gray and when intense light made some portions of this landscape a bit too stark for my preferences. This morning was close to ideal. When we arrived, before dawn, there was a high overcast and the light was not all that spectacular. However, the clouds were thin, and as the sun rose the light made it thought the dissipating clouds — and this sort of high, thing clouds provide some of the most subtle and beautiful light.

My Flickr friend Photo Fiddler has inspired me to go back a few years and find an image I took on this day.
Taken with the Canon EOS 7D and the Lensbaby Composer Pro not sure what optic because back then I did not keyword any images - my bad.
Train coming out of the then Dupont Plant in Kingston Ontario.

A combination of 12 exposures.
4 sets of 3 bracketed exposures at 2ev settings.
Each set of 3 exposures blended using "merge to HDR" in Lightroom .
The 4 sets then "merged to Panorama" in Lightroom.
The resulting big file then processed to my liking.

I spotted this guy and about a billion of his friends hanging in the shadows along the Mississippi River in New Orleans.
This is from a series of photo I am doing with the help oof an AI called Dream by WOMBO. The AI takes as suggestions of Keywords along with a piece of art that I have created from the virtual world Second Life as a reference. In the photo the Key words were "Seleni Mou' Greek for My Seleni and the artwork was called "Lina Profile Portrait" which is a different pose. In this one I used the Reality filter as well.
