Early morning sun in Dawson glints the rails on the Keystone Subdivision while burning off morning fog. The church steeple between the pine and yellow house belongs to Phillip Cochran United Memorial Methodist church. To the left of the yellow house you may see a church on the hill. It may have been a church at one time but now is Meadowcroft Dyeworks. In my opinion no train needed.

It was a bit after 3am when I drove through Keystone on my way to Harney Peak. Not many people up and about at this time...except me. This is 25 miles from my home in Rapid City.

It is always cool to see the old faded speed lettering on these bridges. Note that the original railing is still up.

This is the top of Go Devil ski trail at Keystone Ski Resort. They are not open for skiing yet (October 24, 2005). Nowhere near enough snow.

So I just hiked up the mountain.

That very tiny ribbon at the bottom of the ski lift is US Highway 6.
