I was walking on a dimly lit footbridge. Two nuns were going the opposite direction. Capture ended up being like what you will see upon waking up or when being lulled into sleep, or when you are drunk.

This little wooden box that I purchased from its craftsman years ago holds a gold locket containing a photo of my grandmother. She passed away in the 1930’s, when my father was about 6 yrs old. The box is only about 5” wide and locket is 5/8”.

Oh how naive I am?

Can one make "good" images with the most basic of cameras, with no controls or even a realistic viewfinder, what part does serendipity and chance play in good image making?

So begins yet another quest, some would say; "titling at windmills", best view as a set or slideshow.

Myself from my new VQ1015 Entry by Jack Robinson

The VQ1015 i ordered from Hong Kong arrived today, a 'gift' from my lifelong friend Man Lui, a gift that i paid for on ebay if you catch my drift.

Imports and customs loopholes aside, its a nifty little camera that most would write off as a low quality toy camera suited for little children, producing poor pictures suited to its budget price.

The VQ1015 is something more though, it's cheap construction coupled with its maximum output of small 300kb images might look bad on paper, but you get images with interesting vivid colours, random vignetting, and a video function that produces sureal almost 8mm vivid-colour silent footage.

For £35 i think im on to a winner - i slapped in a 2gb SD card which means i've got over 1000 images worth of digital lomotography goodness. My plan is to stick it on my keys and just take a few snaps when i remember i'm carrying it.

I couldn't believe I was actually seeing this. a Smart 4+2, parked in downtown ABQ. I had only my Vistaquest with me. I think it did a good job of capturing the magic.
