It's kinda hard to see here, but symbols and punctuation are in strange places on the Japanese keyboard. I stopped using apostrophes while I lived in Japan because it's SHFT+2. Quotation marks are SHFT+7.
It was nice having a background in Japanese keyboards when I started working at the embroidery shop. The machines are of Japanese make, so the keyboards were identically laid out... but with some of the symbols rubbed off from use.

Everyone's got one. Except people with no hands. Then they have some other sort of input device. Maybe one that works by gyrating your testicles. Who knows.
Not me. That's for sure.
The perils of being an historian of science in the working world! My keyboard was customized while I went for my 20th cup of tea of the day.
like, obama-bowling retarded.
The keyboard is always a downside on a tiny computer, and the dell mini 9 is no exception. There are some workarounds that you can do to make it not so horrible.
I've already rebound "change focus to another window in the same application" (normally Cmd-`) to Cmd-Escape, as that is usually front row and there is no way i'd ever need to run front row on this machine.

This is the shell of the keyboard, on which the keys sit. Underneath,
through each of those holes, protrudes a membrane. Under the membrane
are electrical contacts.

キーキャップを替えてみると雰囲気が変わりました。
いつものごとく「かな入力」の私はかな刻印ありのキーキャップに変更(^_^;)
まぁ、せっかくなので幾つかのキーを色物にしています。
I made Unown stickers to stick on the keys.
The keyboard is JIS (Japanese) assignment keyboard, so some keys' assignments are different from ASCII (US and etc.).
Original Unown supports only A to Z and ! and ?, therefore others were made by me look like Unown.
Just installed my "new" 1986 IBM Model M keyboard.
Why the hell did I buy a 26 year old keyboard I hear you ask? Ergonomics and nostalgia, in that order. A long time ago before personal computers, IBM spent decades and a shite load of money perfecting the typewriter experience which centered around the user's experience when interacting with the keyboard. Most of that knowledge and design doesn't exist in any of the mass manufactured keyboards today
Features:
- Designed by mechanical engineers
- Made in the good ol' US of A
- Buckling spring key-switches are technically superior because they provide visual , tactile and auditory feedback
- Built like a tank, will most likely outlive you.
Purchased from Clicky Keyboards. Delivery was fast, keyboard looks, feels and smells brand new.
A bokeh shot of my Apple Wireless Keyboard sitting on my desk. In the background you can see my two 1TB External HDs.
My keyboard got bad enough for me to notice, which means it must have been pretty bad. Popping all the keys off with a little screwdriver was the funnest part.
Dolch Computer Systems made a series of "luggable" PCs with special-purpose hardware and software for sniffing wired communication networks for testing purposes. The keyboard cases were made to mate to the side of the computer, covering its LCD screen.
Dolch PAC keyboards are highly sought-after due to their compact size, mechanical switches, and high-quality, uniquely-colored keycaps. When Dolch computers show up on Ebay, it is not uncommon for winning bidders to ask the seller to ship only the keyboard in order to reduce the shipping weight by about 40lbs.
