Kevin - Tá olhando o quê ?

Portrait Kevin Kell. He lives just up Cute Road from Kara who's coming to visit tomorrow for cookies and korero. He hopes to see you then too. xx

Kevin doing his favorite thing, charging in the sun at the front door.

He really likes money. KEVIN IS MONEY HUNGERY!!!

Again I want the picture Kevin is taking.

Friend and kick-ass photographer Kevin Mcneal at Ruby Beach, WA.

I first met Kevin through a photography contest site when I was just starting out with photography. I liked his work so much that I wrote him and asked if I could wash his car or mow his lawn in exchange for photography tips. He laughed, and told me I didn't have to do that. He's been kind enough to give me great tips along the way, and on this trip, he was teaching me about my new 5D. I found that the waves at Ruby Beach can sneak up on you. I rode the 3 hours home in wet pants.

Please do yourself a favor and check his awesome landscapes. His Newest Editions and Oregon Coast portfolios are my favorite. If you happen to be on a ferry and see the WA State Visitors Guide, that cover shot is by Kevin.

I love that strobism can be so quick and easy sometimes. For this shot, I had a 3373/SB-26/white umbrella, all of which I had carried down on the side of my lowepro, and just hand held the lightstand from upper left for the shot. It only took about a minute or so to get in a decent portrait before getting down to business....landscape:)

Kevin [ "Fair Begotten" in Irish ] was born in the west of Ireland in 498 ad. He studied to become a monk and was ordained in Clonmacnoise , Co. Westmeath. when he was in his early 20s.However, he grew tired of the monastic life and his fellow human beings so he decided to become a hermit and seek solice in some remote mountain valley. He set off travelling by foot for about 100 miles,, towards the east and crossing the Wicklow mountains at Hollywood, He travelled for 20 miles along this path, through the Glendassan Valley, along by the river, till he reached Glendalough, [ The Valley of the two lakes ]

In a cave overlooking the upper lake he set up his home, fasting and praying in peace and tranquillity. Its said that the birds and animals had no fear of him and a pair of Blackbirds are supposed to have nested and reared their young on his open hand. However Kevin didn't have much peace as his fame spread and people came from far and wide to see and to listen to him. A monastery quickly formed and St Kevins Way became a pilgrims road.

By the time Kevin died in 618 at 120 years old, there were 7 churches, a cathedral, many celtic crosses and a round tower which still stands today, in perfect condition.

There are many stories about St. Kevin but my favourite is the one about a young woman called Kitty who "set her eye in him " One night when Kevin was sleeping she rowed out across the lake and sneaked into his cave! However Kevin woke and threw her into the water where she drowned. And wasn't he right? Wimmin!!!!

" In Glendalough lived an auld Saint,

He was noted for learning and piety,

His manner both curios and quaint,

Not to be mixin` with female society! "

Glendalough is still the beautiful and peaceful place as it always has been. Its totally non commercialised and people come from all over the world to sit, think, walk and climb the mountains and soak up the wonderful atmosphere.

And am I biased? You bet I am!

My Dad loved this place and he brought me around there almost

every week from when I was 4.

Now my grown up children are as bad as I was and not to forget the grandkids! Its a fine madness and the place grabs you like that.

Why don't you come for a visit sometime? You might even stay!

I do hope you enjoy the story and the pic,

Happy Weekend !!!

Pat.

When they were getting their blimp at the Kids Choice Awards 2008 for Best Musical Group.

Here's what I would look like if I were on the Simpsons. Pretty scary because it's accurate. Imagine that Scratchy is Rosa. Then imagine some pee on the ground right next to her.

I don't really know what that thing he is on is called but I know I have ridden it before.

Running Home for Christmas – 7 in 7 in 7 Challenge

First of all, apologies for the poor image and photography, but it happened all so fast. Having said that, this is not about photography but about this man – Kevin Sinfield who has undertaken this epic challenge to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA). Myself and Mrs R have followed this challenge all week and wanted to show our support by venturing out in this bad weather to support Kevin down at Salford Quays, where he would be making his first stop for BBC Breakfast.

My mum succumbed to MND in 1997, as did Rob Burrow CBE in June of this year. Both Rob and Kevin worked tirelessly to raise awareness and funding for MND research right up to Rob’s death and Kevin has continued with the cause.

His target is to raise £777,777 during this challenge so I make no apologies for plugging the link to his fund-raising page. Any donation, I’m sure, will be gratefully received by all concerned.

Kevin stood outside Chick Fil-A. He's been homeless for about 12 years. Currently he sleeps on the train that goes to O'Hare. "I can always use clothes", he said. He was very quiet and I wish I had more to share about him...

Kevin was sitting on the southwest corner of Dearborn and Randolph. He's been out here a little while. His biggest need is housing. "All I need is a place to stay--that's it". He tries to wash up when he can, he said, "there's only so much you can do to clean up there". Kevin doesn't always come out here but he does when he has to. "I'm smoking", he said, "but I'm trying to quit". We said our goodbyes and he said, "I'm glad you stopped by--it's a big world man..."

My unhealthy obsession of Kevin Hinkle grows with this latest addition to my collection. A custom printed tile of his custom printed minifig.

Tile was printed for BrickFair attendees as one of the default avatars, and I bartered with someone that had it.
