It was a good week here for the poodles and their peeps. Our first "Flickr" company came for a visit. Cindy (2spoos) brought lots of most excellent loot for the poodles. None of this silly Halloween stuff. Excellent duck treats were dispensed right after the clicking of the camera.
Stay at Home - or Stay Local. I realise that we are very lucky and have a garden, but there is no choice. We have to stick with the rules for the time being.

The last of my Apple Store series....Made it to the recently opened Apple Store on Boylston Street. It is the largest Apple Store in the country (world? could be smaller than London's).
You can see the glass staircase in the middle of the room.
It is huge - the first floor is covered with Macs, the second floor has the newest Apple's gadgets (ipods, iphones) that one can try out hands-on, and the third floor has a "Genius Bar" of experts providing tips, tricks and personal training.

There are definitely problems on this part of the Second Avenue bike path, including vehicles parking in the bike lane or failing to yield to cyclists in the left-turn "mixing zones," a too-narrow buffer that fails to protect cyclists from dooring, and oblivious pedestrians in the bike lane.
If the City has followed through on the original plan and installed concrete pedestrian islands, it would have gotten most of the pedestrians out of the bike lane. There are also improvements that could help with the yield problem, such as larger and more prominently placed yield signs in the mixing zones.
And then there's the cyclist at the end of the clip. He tells the skateboarder abd oedestrian crossing Second with the right of way to "keepyour eyes open, M-f*ckers," because they failed to yield to the cyclist, who was riding counterflow and through the red light! Couldn't resist adding my own two cents.
Responsible cyclists have got a lot of education to do on all fronts!

It's been a little over two months of miscellaneous paperwork, chores, and helping prepare the new (old) house in Eastern Canada for winter. I definitely feel like a "vacation" after the "vacation". Now that I'm back I should to follow up with a few more things.. from "missing artwork" that was shipped back in the summer to that oh so ever elusive Czech Trade License. Now I need to arrange for an appointment in either Dresden or Austria for the later.. I never thought I'd say this, but after all of these years I cannot wait to be *able* to work locally :)
