There are five important things for living a successful and fulfilling life: never stop dreaming, never stop believing, never give up, never stop trying, and never stop learning.

Never give up.
It's like breathing—once you quit, your flame dies letting total darkness extinguish every last gasp of hope. You can't do that. You must continue taking in even the shallowest of breaths, continue putting forth even the smallest of efforts to sustain your dreams. Don't ever, ever, ever give up.
Richelle E. Goodrich
Survival can be summed up in three words - never give up. That's the heart of it really, just keep trying.
Bear Grylls
If you're going through hell, keep going.
Winston Churchill
Rejection is a common occurrence. Learning that early and often will help you build up the tolerance and resistance to keep going and keep trying.

Once I start breathing fire, you can't tame me

But if I had one, it'd be bigger than yours!"

Being yourself is one of the hardest things because it's scary. You always wonder whether you'll be accepted for who you really are. I decided to call my record 'Inside Out' because that's my motto about life. I don't think you ever succeed at trying to be anyone else but who you truly are. -

Had this shot in mind for months, and I finally got it! I wanted to have the small beach in the foreground, and the sun to shine just underneath the bridge, to form a nice sunstar. This can only be achieved in the summermonths, because of the position of the sun from here. I also had a long exposure in mind, with moving clouds above the bridge. It's only a 10 minutes drive for me, so I had the opportunity to wait patiently for the right circumstances. First time the sky was fine, but the beach was completely underwater, because it happened to be high tide. So I had to be there at low tide, which also decreased my chances substantially. Second attempt the sun couldn't manage to shine through the clouds, but the third time was my lucky day. This was what I had in mind:) Image made out of two exposures, one for the foreground and one for the sky with the bright sun.

I hope I didn't overwhelm you all yesterday with my barrage (spelling?) of photos. Some days I get like that. I have so many photos and so little time so when I have an extra minute some days, I just post. I really appreciate that you all took the time to comment on my many photos and today I am back to just posting one shot, maybe two at the most. I just love to share all my photos with my friends and you are all so wonderful to be so gracious about them all!
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend. Hugs to all!

Sometimes you just cannot re-create the vision you had in your head. This image is not right, I know it's not but I don't know why its not right. Will have another play tomorrow .... Feel free to comment if you have a suggestion for improving this shot

What love we've given, we'll have forever. What love we fail to give, will be lost for all eternity. - Leo Buscaglia
The opportunity is often lost by deliberating. - Publilius Syrus
Not all those who wander are lost. - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring
Life is painful and messed up. It gets complicated at the worst of times, and sometimes you have no idea where to go or what to do. Lots of times people just let themselves get lost, dropping into a wide open, huge abyss. But that's why we have to keep trying. We have to push through all that hurts us, work past all our memories that are haunting us. Sometimes the things that hurt us are the things that make us strongest. A life without experience, in my opinion, is no life at all. And that's why I tell everyone that, even when it hurts, never stop yourself from living. - Alysha Speer

Illness is an interesting journey.
I managed to escape COVID so far until late last week, but that's not entirely what this image is about. This is something I've been wanting to portray somehow for a while, and being in quarantine again had me thinking about it.
I got Lyme Disease some years back, defined here by the CDC:
"Lyme disease is caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi and rarely, Borrelia mayonii. It is transmitted to humans through the bite of infected blacklegged ticks. Typical symptoms include fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans."
Those symptoms are what can be (but not always) noticeable when the infection first happens, but the possibility for damage and the scope of that damage changes depending on how much time passes between being infected and being treated. Time also complicates the efficacy of treatment, and how much medication may be necessary to kill off the infection. If you're curious about what other symptoms there can be, there's a lot of resources on the interwebs. I'll spare folks that bit here.
The bacteria is still detectable in my system, though no longer considered active or alive, thanks to the treatment I went through. My GP and I estimated though that based on symptoms, I likely had it for between 3 and 5 years before she caught and treated it. It affected many systems in my body, and continues to impact me now.
Getting other illnesses on top of all the other stuff that's going on with my body tends to amplify a lot of that underlying stuff. Thankfully I've had 4 vaccinations, so my experience with COVID has likely been a lot better than it would otherwise have been. Getting the 'rona has definitely flared up a few existing things for me so far though, and because of that stuff, I'm aware of the possibility that I may remain in a flared up state for a while even after I test negative.
One thing I've learned through my chronic illness journey is that it's important to advocate for yourself. You actually kinda have no choice, and there's a lot of work to do, hence my portrayal as both provider and patient.

You've been missing out on all the chances you've been given
Is it something within holding you back instead of living
Your day is coming though it seems far
Things will be clear when you love who you are
Nothing can stop you as long as you listen to your heart
Lift your head to the sky and keep trying
Believe in you and it will take you higher
You have sorrows
Everywhere you turn they seem to follow
If you let go happiness will come to you tomorrow

When we got back from the concert last night we were taken aback by how bright the stars were. So we planned to try another starlapse video today, to see if we could capture the amazing night skies at Maple Hoo. Aaaaaand... it ended up being cloudy. Of course. But whatever, it's a Thursday night so no one wants to take pictures or video, so this will have to do.
