The reenactors made a beautiful solemn and honorable gesture. Everyone stood in line, still wearing their clothes for the reenactment. It was therefore a special but above all honorable Remembrance Day at Allied Camp Kaaivest. The moment of silence was very impressive, almost symbolically only the sound of the freely flying birds was audible. Finally, a salute. Very special to experience the commemoration in this way with everyone present

Op 19 april 2025 vierde Ermelo 80 jaar vrijheid, met een bevrijdingsfeest georganiseerd door de Oranjevereniging. Centraal stond een "Bevrijdingscolonne", rijdend door Putten, Ermelo en Harderwijk: een optocht van historische militaire voertuigen van Keep Them Rolling, een re-enactment van schermutselingen tijdens de bevrijding op 18 april 1945, dankbetuiging aan veteranen en nazaten van de bevrijders, en aansluitend een statische show van de voertuigen.

Brielle: Bevrijdingsfestival - Dodenherdenking
Nationale Heldendag - formely named "Dodenherdenking", it's Remembrance Day in the Netherlands. For many years a day of remembrance for the many people lost as a result of World War II. A war again started off by Germany, then Nazi's with such immense crualties still impossible to comprehend, a war resulting in the second world wide war not long after the first world wide war both in the first half of the 20th century.
Nowadays a day on which fellow countrymen are honored who risked, even lost their lives, for freedom and peace.
