A woman kayaks across Bass Hole in Yarmouthport on Cape Cod. The water here flows in and out of Cape Cod Bay with the tide, an action that creates those semi-permanent sand bar "islands." Seen from the Bass Hole Boardwalk.

Raid itinérant en kayak dans le parc des Kornati en Croatie

I saw a lot of people enjoying the time in the Arno river with their kayaks / canoes. Looks like a fun sport.

We provide adventure fuelled school trips to the French: Alpshttps://beventuresometrips.co.uk/ All all inclusive trips include white water rafting, kayaking, woodland activities, high ropes, team building, rock climbing, mountain biking and much more.

If you go on the River and if you don't have a boat you could rent a Kayak, Tube, boat, and Double Kayak. Just remember to bring fishing polls.

Another shot I made on our Alaskan cruise in May of the kayakers at Lamplugh Glacier in Glacier Bay National Park. What I find intersting in this shot is the kayak partially hidden by the iceberg. If we only see 10% of the ice above the surface of the water, imagine how big that piece of ice must be.

Kayaker Riding The Surf

This morning Sony released the Firmware update for the Sony A7RII that allows your to shoot in Uncompressed Raw format. I wanted to see how well it would work with action type shots. Knowing that the surf in this area was up today to almost 7ft I headed out to the Pensacola Pass on the far west end of Pensacola Beach Florida. I knew that surfers like this area when the surf if up.

When I arrived it is as short hike to the pass and I was lucky as there where a number of surfers riding the waves. However this guy caught my attention. Did get some suffer shots also and will post some soon.

Now with this shot I set the Sony A7RII to the Uncompress Raw mode. Was using the Tamron 150-600mm f/5-6.3 lens via the Sony A-Mount to E-Mount Adapter LAEA4 mounted on a monopod. The original Raw image out the camera was 81.75MB (7952x5304). A huge file size. Since I was shooting action shots (burst mode) I found that the buffer would fill up in just over 4.5 frames shot. I figured this would happen with this size of file. Was using the Lexar Professional SDXC 150MBs 1000x card.

Exposure 1/2000 sec at f/6.3 ISO 500

Post processing with Lightroom CC and the New Macphun Intensify CK to give it a little pop. This image was not cropped but resized to JPG in order to post to Flickr.

Overall I am impressed with the Uncompress Raw file however I did find myself missing some actions shots because of the file size and the buffer filling up. Of course I really don't need to shoot Uncompressed Raw for these type shots, however I wanted see how it worked out.

My next step will be to head out and capture some landscape/seascape images using the Uncompressed Raw. I think that is where this is really going to work as you will have some data to work with.

Kayakers headed down the river

I wish I could convince my cat to join me in my kayak!

This contented duo came paddling past our boat today shortly after we docked.

I'm guessing the dog is the second one on the kayak and the first one off.

I was on the riverbank photographing shags as the sun was going down. This Kayaker scared away my subjects so I shot him.....with my camera of course!

This kayaker gave us an amazing demonstration of a number of techniques to right an overturned kayak. This was done in water that was under 3 degrees Celcius.
