A new lake created by Tanana River flooding (caused by rapid glacial melting in recent weeks). Odd to be kayaking beside submerged trees, the tops of brush visible under the surface of the water.
The river is now receded down to 'average' depth, but new channels have been cut and it is not certain if some of the areas newly submerged will continue to be submerged because of diverted channels.
Last weekend I saw an armada of sea kayakers rowing alongside West Cliff Rd in Santa Cruz. They must have been rowing for quite a while because they were all quite spread out.

While keeping with Banner Marsh for a moment. I thought I would share a new favorite sunset image from Banner. This is Julie's kayak. She was kind enough to take me out on a photography outing via kayak earlier in the day and at night she wanted to use the kayak as a prop in the frame. I think it was a fantastic idea!

Two kayakers passing by the two osprey that have RETURNED for the season. If you look close you will see them there on the green channel marker in the river, where they have built a nest.
Several pairs have returned already ... I am sure many others will follow shortly.
WEEK 25 – Columbus Kmart, Set 1
Panning down from the luggage sign, here's a straighter view looking towards the rear wall of the store. Judging by the large green kayaks up on that top shelf against the back wall, that must be the sporting goods department, haha! Even more attention-grabbing than those kayaks, though... (cont.)
