Kate Boothman - Dakota Tavern - Sept 24th, 2009.
Local folk singer Kate Boothman plays some songs to warm up the crowd for Joe Pernice at The Dakota Tavern.
Kate was not amused at having to be up at 5:30am to get down to the train station, but once on the train she cheered up.
I played around with CAS more. Recently I've really gotten into Ugly Betty-more accurately the original Betty La Fea. So I watched that version and then I re-watched Ugly Betty, and then I happened to stumble upon a Russian version. Since I speak Russian, I just had to watch it- and twas amazing, so I became even more inspired by Ugly Betty.
Long story short- I transformed average/pretty girl Kate into a more Betty-like version. I actually like her more like this.

I figured, "why not ask," and so I asked if I could take a pinwheel, and the saleslady said, "Sure!" Doesn't hurt to ask, m'friends. You just might get a gigantic pink pinwheel out of it. Isn't it so pretty?!
Kate is one of the most amazing artists I've ever known. I haven't decided whether to describe her art as "simple elegance" or as "elegant simplicity".
She is one of East Lansing's true treasures.
