Director-Producer Anurag Kashyap is miffed with the Central Board of Film Verification’s imposed ban on his upcoming film Udta Punjab, which is directed by Abhishek Chaubey. The GOW1&2 fame director has finally ended his silence over the ban by taking to Twitter. In one of his tweets, he even went on to compare India to North Korea!
The Central Board of Film Verification has reportedly proposed as many as 89 cuts in the movie which include heavy swearing and depiction of substance abuse. The brawl earlier started over the title of the film when the Board objected to the word Punjab being included in the title. Meanwhile, actor and the main lead Shahid Kapoor said in a press conference that Punjab is a part of India and drug abuse is on a rise in India, hence it should not be connected to only one region rather be seen as a national issue which needs immediate attention.
