I spent another awesome couple of days in the Little Karoo this weekend… I spent most of Saturday afternoon driving around and looking for new and interesting compositions for a sunset shoot... I did find one or two possible locations which weren’t too bad… but I finally settled on this view of the Calitzdorp dam.

 

Nikon D300, Sigma 10-20mm at 10mm, aperture of f13, with a 1/2 second exposure.

Karoo is a word used to describe a variety of succulents that grow in the driest parts of South Africa. The Karoo region contains the most diverse succulent flora in the world. This planting was seen at the UC Berkeley Botanical Garden.
