Koh Tapu (Thai: เกาะตะปู - nail island, also sometimes called Khao Tapu: เขาตะปู - nail mountain) is an island located in Phang Nga, Thailand. It has become a popular tourist attraction since it was featured in the James Bond movie "The Man with the Golden Gun"; for this reason, it is also often referred to as James Bond Island.
Incredibly hungover after my friend's bucks party, I awoke to the last light of the day and raced to the end of the beach in a futile attempt to capture the sunset. Scrambling over the sharp, shell-encrusted rocks, the sun disappeared behind a bank of cloud on the horizon as I tried in desperation to make an exposure through the fogged-up lense.
Landscape photography necessitates shooting at the most inconvenient times; this is the only shot I have after spending seven days on the beach in Thailand.

Ronald Koh's new rabbit design!
According to Ron : "Just before Christmas 2010, I was approached by a media agency to produce 20 to 25 rabbits in various poses; i.e. sitting, crouching, reaching, hopping, etc. I was still struggling with my physical impediments then, and had to turn down that project. However, I was left with the idea of designing a rabbit that could assume the various poses required. The design for this rabbit was conceived in my mind almost two years ago, until I was in a better condition to turn the idea to fruition."
Paper : Elephant Hide, 110gsm, 35x35cm, wet finished.
This is my second fold. The first was a testfold with kami. EH is kind of thick although it has certain advantages. I like this design quite a lot and I don't think I have done it sufficient justice yet. Not to mention I have yet to try out the various different poses ... Will likely try again with thinner papers, perhaps, or larger EH.
The city of Koh Ker was passed by the most important strategic route of the Khmer empire. Coming from Angkor and Beng Mealea to Koh Ker this road led to Prasat Preah Vihear and from there to Phimai in Thailand and Wat Phu in Laos.
Under the reign of the kings Jayavarman IV and Harshavarman II Koh Ker was briefly the capital of the whole Khmer empire (928–944 AD). Jayavarman IV forced an ambitious building program. Unparalleled is the seven‑tiered and 36-metre (118 ft) high pyramid, which most probably served as state temple of Jayavarman IV.
Because of its remoteness the site of Koh Ker was plundered many times by looters. Sculptures of Koh Ker can be found not only in different museums but also in private collections. Masterpieces of Koh Ker are offered occasionally at auctions.
