Another shot focusing on Mood. Funny thing this was shot from a moving car in Poland. I wanted to stop and shot the sunset instead I had to get my timing right to get a subject, focus, and shutter. It was shot with a tilt-shift (which is all manual), so you could image the technical challenge this posed. The tree just sticks out, gave me this whole thought of Adam and Eve and the tree of knowledge, hence the title.

I love photography. I love photography even more when things work out.

You never know what might happen do you? If ornamental dinosaurs exist anything is possible in this big Universe:)

The Forth Bridge was opened in 1890, having been 8 years in the construction. It was started in the knowledge that, given the poor safety standards of the time, men would die in the process. At its peak, approximately 4,600 workers were employed in the bridge's construction.

As of 2009 it was recorded that 73 men lost their lives in accidents. A memorial on shore records their names and occupations.

Two new bridges have since been constructed nearby: The Forth Road Bridge and The Queensferry Crossing.

For me, this original bridge is the most 'handsome' and characterful. We visited on a late autumn evening and stayed for sunset. The gathering dusk gave a sombre and reflective mood.

King Ashurbanipal had a library of 30,000 tablets and writing boards in his palace in Nineveh in present day Iraq.

I was amazed by the ceiling in this room, which symbolized for me the Tree of Knowledge at the Gottesman Research Library and Learning Center of the Museum of Natural History in New York. It was designed by Studio Gang, the international and urban practice design firm led by Jeanne Gang, and was reopened in 2023.

NGC 1232 is a spiral galaxy in the Eridanus constellation, around 60 million light years from earth.

At first sight, it would appear that the galaxy has a smaller satellite galaxy companion (at around 8 o’clock in my image). This is however believed to be a misconception. To the best of our knowledge/measurements, both galaxies are in fact a few million light years apart and hence not interacting in any way. It’s just an optical illusion as seen from our vantage point on earth.

Blessing with a blow of the trunk.

Orchhâ (Inde) - In most Asian cultures, the elephant is considered a sacred animal.

In India, he is even a leading figure in Hinduism symbolized by Ganesh, the god of wisdom and knowledge.

The photo above illustrates a practice related to Hinduism. It consists of giving an offering to the elephant (banana etc.) and a ticket to its mahout ; in return the pachyderm will bless the donor with a blow from the trunk. Rest assured, the animal is trained so that its nasal appendage is not lethal.

A tradition which amuses believers and tourists, but which should not make us forget that according to a study by the “Word Animal Protection”, most of these elephants are mistreated.

Snakes study too! It's almost OWL and NEWT time at Hogwarts! Study study study!!

May 2015 bring peace all around the world .

With the knowledge of CP's Royal Canadian Air Force tribute unit on the point of a northbound 418, I set out south of Edmonton on the Leduc Subdivision to find it. I don't usually photograph the CP side of things, but it was the last day of winter break, and I had nothing better to do! The snow was falling, and the overcast day worked well for a northbound. I made it as far south as Ponoka, when all of a sudden a blur of tank cars created a vortex of snow. Between buildings, I caught a glimpse of a heritage unit... could it be my train? I turned around and pursued - it looks like 7023 wasn't alone! With the snow flying behind them, it looked as if they were truly pretending to be a fighter jet, breaking the sound barrier. From the telegraph poles, to the searchlight signals, and the other railfans you meet along the way, this line has yet to dissapoint me.

As a curiosity, there used to be a botanical jarden in these grounds called Casa de Fieras (House of wild Beats,) inaugurated in 1774 and closed in 1972. The wild animals were locked up in cages in very poor sanitary conditions, and even in the sixties during a visit I can still remender the strong smell they gave off.
