"TARN RIVER AS IT PASSES THROUGH THE CITY OF ALBI"
El Río Tarn -rápido- es un río del sur de Francia que nace a
1600 metros en los Pirineos y es afluente del Río Garona en
las proximidades de Moissac, después de recorrer 381 kms.
Las arcillas del río Tarn fueron la materia prima para elaborar
los ladrillos rojos que caracterizan la arquitectura de catedral,
palacios, puentes y casas de la ciudad.

Several of us have been getting wonderful photo ops from a Great Gray Owl west of Edmonton recently. We have learned that the same individual was banded by Richard Chamberland near Slave Lake, Alberta, three years ago and 300 kms away from its present location.
The shot above is Richard with that same owl taken near Slave Lake on January 25, 2014. I posted four images of this owl and Richard this evening. Please have a look if you are interested in the story.

Desde Covadonga, son doce kms, por una carretera serpenteante, para ir despacito, viendo los paisajes. El de la foto es el lago Ercina, a 1108 m.
We crossed the Brahmaputra twice on our trip to Assam recently but unfortunately both times the sun was very high in the sky.The second time Idecided to go ahead with this shot.The river is so broad here(approx 3.3 kms) I found it impossible to capture it in full.
The River Brahmaputra originates in the Angsi Glacier in the northern side of the Himalayas in Tibet and flows through Tibet,India and Bangladesh.It is 2900 kms long.It is the 29th longest river in the world and the 10th largest in terms of drainage area.In Bangladesh it flows into the Padma River (as the Ganges is known there).Unlike most Indian rivers with female names the Brahmaputra has a male name meaning-the son of Lord Brahma.

Wadi el-Hitan es un sitio Paleontológico en El Fayum. Fue designado por la Unesco Patrimonio de la Humanidad por sus cientos de fósiles de algunas de las primeras formas de Ballena. El sitio revela evidencias de la explicación de uno de los mayores misterios de la evolución de las Ballenas: la aparición de la ballena como un mamífero oceánico a partir de una vida anterior como un animal terrestre. La presencia de fósiles de otros animales tempranos como tiburones, cocodrilos, peces sierra, tortugas y rayas encontradas en el Wadi el-Hitan hace posible reconstruir las condiciones ambientales y ecológicas circundantes de la época. Los primeros esqueletos fósiles de ballenas fueron descubiertos en el invierno de 1902-1903. El esqueleto más grande encontrado alcanzó los 21 metros de longitud, con aletas de cinco dedos y la presencia inesperada de patas traseras. Algunos de estos restos esqueléticos están expuestos al aire libre y en un museo dentro del Wadi. El Valle de las Ballenas es el sitio más importante del mundo para demostrar uno de los cambios icónicos que componen el registro de la vida en la tierra: la evolución de las ballenas. Retrata vívidamente su forma y modo de vida durante su transición de animales terrestres a una existencia Marina. El lugar es una auténtica maravilla, se puede recorrer el desierto a pie visitando en lugares acotados todos los esqueletos de las Ballenas que se conservan. Una parte del valle desértico se compone de unas conchas circulares realmente increíbles.
El Parque Nacional Queulat se ubica 165 kms al norte de la ciudad de Coyhaique en la Region de Aysen a tan solo 6 kms de Puyuhuapi. Con mas de 4000mm de lluvia al año se caracteriza por su abundante vegetacion, una verdadera jungla siempreverde de Bosque Patagonico Valdiviano y tambien por su abrupta geografia que ofrece pristinos e intocados paisajes como fiordos, montañas, multliples lagos y lagunas, ventisqueros, rios y cascadas. Uno de los mayores atractivos es el ventisquero colgante del Glaciar Queulat. A mas de 400 mts de altura las masa de hielo se muestra dejando caer al vacio una gran cascada que origina el Lago Tempanos y el Rio Ventisquero. Considerada entre los saltos de agua mas espectaculares del mundo atrae a miles de visitantes cada año. Esta vista corresponde al mirador ubicado a 1 kms del venstisquero. Por su cercania con la Carretera Austral es uno de los glaciares mas accesibles de la Patagonia Chilena.
La Carretera Austral o Ruta CH-7, nace en la ciudad de Puerto Montt, recorriendo mas de 1.240 kilómetros, en su trayecto cruza varias veces la cordillera de los Andes, junto con bordear el litoral y los fiordos de la Patagonia Occidental, para luego internarse en los bosques australes siempre verdes, acercándose a numerosos glaciares, grandes lagos y los ventisqueros de los Campos de Hielo Norte para finalizar en Villa O’Higgins, a unos cuantos kilómetros del Campo de Hielo Sur.

The Queulat National Park is located 165 kms north of Coyhaique city just 6 kms from Puyuhuapi town in Aysen Region. De la serie de imágenes del viejo puente sobre el río Tinto, esta captura es mi preferida, porque refleja mejor el entorno del puente y también está mejor integrado en la composición.
Puente Gadea, este es un antiguo puente sobre el rio Tinto en las cercanías de la Palma del Condado, que se encuentra en desuso por su estado ruinoso.
El río Tinto, también conocido como río rojo, o como Luxia (en la antiguedad) es famoso por el color rojizo-purpura de sus aguas y por su particular y único ecosistema. Este río nace en la Sierra de Padre Caro (Nerva, Huelva) a 420 metros de altura y desemboca en la Ria de Huelva donde se funde con el río Odiel. En su recorrido de mas de 100 kms, atraviesa la franja pirítica Ibérica y el color de sus aguas se debe a la meteorización de los depósitos minerales que contienen sulfuros de metales pesados hallados en los yacimientos explotados a lo largo del río durante más de 3000 años, estas minas han sido explotadas a lo largo de la historia, empezando por los íberos y pasando por fenicios, romanos, musulmanes...y así hasta la actualidad. De estos yacimientos se han extraído cobre, hierro, manganeso, plomo...así como plata y oro.
Sus aguas se caracterizan por una muy elevada acidez, (pH está entre 2 y 2,5) con un alto contenido de metales pesados, pero con oxigeno, ya que los microorganismos que viven en el río son fotosintéticos, estas bacterias adaptadas a los habitat extremos, son acidófilos y solo se alimentan de minerales. También viven algunas especies de hongos y algas, es por esto que la Nasa escogió este ecosistema como hábitat a estudiar por su posible similitud con el ambiente en el planeta Marte.

They migrate from the Rann of Kutch (c.1900 kms from here) in Nov-Dec. As late as until 2011, barely six individuals were seen here and in the last 4 years the place is just besprinkled as it were in pink (with some counts mentioning a no. as high as 500). At least for the last 2 years, the stay is well extended too.
Desde estos pinares de Camposancos sale una senda civilizada, en madera y paralela a la costa, que en unos cómodos 3 kms. llega hasta el pueblo de A Guarda.

El Glaciar San Rafael es uno de los mayores glaciares del Campo de Hielo Norte en la Patagonia Chilena. Es la mayor masa de agua congelada mas cercana al Ecuador en el mundo. Tiene un ancho de 2 kms y un frente de 50 mts de altura, con un largo de 20 kms desde su nacimiento en el campo de hielo hasta llegar al mar. Cada tanto grandes trozos se desprenden de su frente dando origen a la Laguna San Rafael y al Rio Tempanos que la conecta con el mar. Se ubica dentro del Parque Nacional Laguna San Rafael y es accesible solo por via maritima. Se puede llegar navegando en cruceros o catamaranes y en los ultimos años se abrio una nueva ruta mixta via Bahia Exploradores, que conecta con la Carretera Austral permitiendo recorrer salvajes territorios inhabitados cubiertos de Selva Vadiviana siempreverde y alcanzar el glaciar en pequeñas lanchas.
La Carretera Austral es uno de los mayores atractivos de la Patagonia chilena. Esta larga carretera que nació como un sendero de colonización a fines del siglo XX, actualmente es una ruta turística de un creciente interés para viajeros y aventureros de todo el mundo que quieran recorrer la salvaje belleza patagónica. Se ha consolidado como destino por ser una de las mejores 10 rutas escénicas del mundo para viajar ya sea en auto, motocicleta o en bicicleta.

The San Rafael Glacier is one of the largest glaciers in the Northern Ice Field in Chilean Patagonia. It is the largest mass of frozen water closest to Ecuador in the world. It has a width of 2 kms and a front of 50 mts of height, with a length of 20 kms from its birth in the ice field until reaching the sea. Each time large pieces are released from its front giving origin to the San Rafael Lagoon and the Rio Tempanos that connects it with the sea. so my friend a guy (who only wrote for like a day) lol, came by my house and blessed me with a few of his photo's that i had given him n he had scanned them in. when i get the chance to load some i will. these shits brought back memories. thanx bro. really means alot...
This year to organize a holiday was more difficult, especially due to the many births we welcame in the family. Some of the puppies were in the phase they need handfeeding, some were babies and still needed to be accompanied in the weaning phase... So, we decided: "All the baby pets with us!" The first part of my summer holiday has been a very strange one, I almost never went to tan or swim, handfeeding and concerns for the smallest ones kept me indoor most of the time... So I improvisated some games & toys...
The second part of my holiday turned to be the very relaxing part but we had to drive more than 1000 Kms to reach the right place! But this is another story :-)
Here, I had with me all my cameras and trypods but not my studio equipment, most of the space in the car was reserved to accomodate the babies, their nests, cages, food, so, even the black baground limbo is improvisated with a lil creativity.
Therefore, there are some slight adjustments in this photo, especially to darken the background which is, though, genuinely set behind my parrot, no layers nor textures; no special processures, nor retouching.

Had a wonderful afternoon yesterday at the Okhla Bird Sanctuary, a few kms from my apartment. Saw hordes of migratory birds but they were too far away to photograph from our perch on top of the second watch tower. Then we saw this sunset! Glorious!!

El Lago de Suchitlán fué creado en 1973 Se localiza en la ciudad de Suchitoto, departamento de Cuscatlán a 47 kms de la ciudad capital, es considerada una Ciudad Colonial con una belleza arquitectónicca
Su nombre significa en náhuatl "Lugar de Pájaro y Flor".nombre apropiado si se toma en cuenta que aquí abunda el gigantesco árbol Tepemixque que da una preciosa Flor Amarilla.
La belleza de su ubicación le compone una espectacular vista del Lago Suchitlán, formado por el embalse del Río Lempa. Es un Lago artificial , ya que fué creado tras la realización de La Presa del Cerrón Grande , las tierras que antes eran ocupadas para el cultivo y la ganadería quedarón sepultadas por el embalce.
Es uno de los Lagos más grandes de El Salvador con 135 metros cuadrados. Posee un bello paisaje ya que es hogar de una impresionante flora y una gran cantidad de aves residentes y migratorias como: garzas, patos y gaviotas; así como peces de diversas especies.
La calle que va detrás de la iglesia de Santa Lucía le llevará directamente al Lago. Un paseo en el ferry no le vendrá nada mal.
Hay servicio todos los días y puede visitar la "Isla del Ermitaño" para admirar el bosque de teca y acampar. El recorrido toma alrededor de 1 hora 20 minutos. También puede visitar la "Isla de las Aves", el recorrido lleva aproximadamente 1 hora 30 minutos. En la isla
Este sitio aún conserva calles empedradas, una iglesia colonial y casonas estilo español. Su proximidad con Suchitlán le hace una parada obligatoria, pero satisfactoria, ya que aquí han surgido restaurantes como La Posada de Suchitlán desde donde se puede apreciar un panorama gratificante de Suchitlán.
Extensión: 135 Kilómetros cuadrados.
Ubicación:Compartido entre los municipios de San Francisco Lempa, en Chalatenango y Suchitoto, en Cuscatlán.
Profundidad:Entre 800 y 120 metros la parte más onda

Our traditional and friendly walk from November 1 between neighbors, friends, children, grandchildren, where we take a fabulous average of 3 or 4 km / hour if there are not too many stops to drink.

A large whorl-like disturbance on the sun's surface around this active region. It is about 230,000 kms across or 17 earth diameters. Image has been inverted to better see details.
The Bakery is one of the old buildings located a little north-west of the main town site of Greenhills. The bakery was constructed around 1896. It was restored by the present owners in 2001.
Greenhills is a small community in wheat country noted now for its grand hotel and historic buildings. The town site is 22 kms east of York, and two or three kms north of the York - Quairading Road. Greenhills is like a time capsule representing what many of these small rural communities looked like a hundred or so years ago.
One of my original work for Rex Tyran (formally known as Rex KMS EE PROJECT) I would like to share my humble work of MOC this is one of the smallest mecha MOC i'd ever made. I have added in details for every part of it. At the time of writing I'm re-modified the leg for better support which Mark II will be coming soon. As for now enjoy :)

Llico Bajo es una pequeña localidad costera ubicada a unos 100 kms al oeste de la ciudad de Puerto Varas junto a la desembocadura del rio Llico. La zona costera de esta region es muy poco habitada de dificil acceso cubierta en su mayor parte por extensos bosques nativos que se descuelgan hasta el mar. Su abrupta costa esta conformada por grandes acantilados y formidables formaciones rocosas que dan espacio a pequeñas playas siempre golpeadas por los fuertes vientos provenientes del mar de gran atractivo para cualquier aficionado a la fotografia buscando nuevos escenarios y paisajes.

Llico Bajo is a small coastal town located about 100 kms west from the city of Puerto Varas at the mouth of the river Llico. The coastal area of this region is very low populated mostly difficult to reach covered by extensive native forests that hook to the sea. Its rugged coastline is formed by high cliffs and stunning rock formations that give space to small beaches always struck by the strong winds from the sea a great attraction for any photography enthusiast looking for new sceneries.
