Malmö Konsthall was opened in 1975 and is one of Europe’s largest exhibition halls for contemporary art. Architect Klas Anshelm has created an exhibition hall with great flexibility, generous space and fantastic light. The construction materials are light and simple: concrete, glass, wood and aluminum. Most of the gallery has a ceiling constructed like a latticework of 550 domes with both natural and artificial light sources. The height of the ceiling varies. The light well - with the higher ceiling - has a big sloping skylight towards the north. Klas Anshelm got inspiration for the construction when visiting the sculptor Constantin Brancusi in his Paris studio. The result is a gallery that is both functional and aesthetic.

The picture was taken during the Gunilla Klingberg exhibition – A Sign in Space… Here with a new transparent work, Brand New View, created for the gallery’s long row of windows facing the park. Malmö Konsthall is a unique place with its almost borderless transition between outside and inside, art and everyday life. Gunilla Klingberg both challenges and exploits the gallery’s functional spaces.

Across the road from Malmö Konsthall is the Triangeln Metro Station, where Gunilla Klingberg’s exhibition continues… There she has contributed with four works – Vardagslivets mönster (The Patterns of Everyday Life) – which, as in Malmö Konsthall, erase boundaries and unite the big-picture perspective with the immediate vicinity.

Malmö Konsthall was awarded the Kasper Salin-prize for best architecture in 1974 by The Swedish Association of Architects.

The Kasper Salin Prize (Swedish Kasper Salinpriset) is a prize awarded annually by the Swedish Association of Architects to a Swedish building or building project "of high architectural standard". It has been awarded since 1962 and was founded with money from a donation by the city architect of Stockholm Kasper Salin (1856-1919). It is considered the most prestigious architectural prize in Sweden.

This famous Czech restaurant opened in 1922 and closed in 2016. Klas had a rich history and an old world European castle design. I remember eating here a few times and the last time was in 2016. I was sitting at the bar drinking a pilsner and eating the pork tenderloin

Opened in 1922, this restaurant advertises that it is the oldest operating Czechoslovakian restaurant in the country. Very cute facade...I thought it looked kinda like a giant version of this: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weather_house
