Secret #2: I have tried every religion/spirituality/philosophy/movement in the picture. My faith is, er, interesting. Mother is Jewish, father is atheist (formerly Episcopalian). I'm Jewish by blood, had a Bat Mitzvah, but once I got to college... well, you know. One existential crisis after another left me an atheist. Then agnostic -- a very humble position (and is why I love David Hume so much). Then I 'found' God when I took mushrooms -- not shiitake -- and I've been a deist ever since. By God, I mean higher power, no identity (no way for us to identify), unable to comprehend, the First Cause. you know. Religion scares me. That's my secret.
I'm also really pissed that I didn't add Kierkegaard in here. Despair, angst, leap of faith.... brilliant.

Kopenhagens altehrwürdige „Kongelige Bibliotek“ zeigt sich in zwei Gewändern: dem historischen Hauptgebäude und dem modernen, verspiegelten Anbau direkt am Hafen. Aufgrund seiner rund 2500 Quadratmeter großen, dunklen Fassade aus poliertem schwarzem Granit gaben die Kopenhagener dem 1999 eingeweihten Multikulturhaus am Søren Kierkegaards Plads den Beinamen „Schwarzer Diamant“. Der von den dänischen Architekten Schmidt, Hammer & Lassen entworfene Bau beherbergt große Teile der aus allen Nähten platzenden Königlichen Bibliothek. Auch das Dänische Buchmuseum sowie das Nationale Fotomuseum und das Skizzenmuseum stellen hier aus. Im „Königinnensaal“ finden Veranstaltungen und Konzerte statt. Außerdem im Gebäude: das Museumscafé und -restaurant „Søren K“ sowie eine Buchhandlung.

En el triángulo comprendido entre la Sagrada Familia, las torres gemelas y el hotel "W" transcurrió gran parte de mi adolescencia y juventud.
Desde los quince años viví con mis padres y hermanos justo en el centro de ese triángulo que, para mi, siempre será mío, siempre representará la magia de una ciudad, del aprendizaje lento y no siempre agradable de buena parte de los secretos del arte de vivir y del descubrimiento de los seres humanos, no siempre agradables, como colectivo y como individualidad.
Mi querido instituto "Jaime Balmes", mi abarrotada universidad, mi inolvidable primer beso, mi primera derrota y mi primera victoria en el deporte, mi primer gran amigo, mi primera vez descubriendo los secretos del encuentro entre un hombre y una mujer desnudos de alma y de cuerpo, mi primera pandilla de amigas y amigos, mi primer descubrimiento consciente de cómo eran mis padres, mi deliciosa y sólida maduración junto a mis hermanos, mi aprendizaje como pintor de brocha gorda, por dos veces, en el enorme (para mi lo era cuando lo pintaba junto a mi hermano) piso familiar, mi primera experiencia laboral cargando camiones, mis primeros descubrimientos de la bondad y de la maldad del mundo, mis primeras salidas nocturnas, mi primer cigarrillo (qué desafortunado momento!!!), mis paseos por el parque, mis conversaciones filosóficas, mis muchísimas horas de estudio, mis madrugadas en la estación de Francia hablando sobre Kierkegaard o sobre Schopenhauer, mi primera borrachera, mis verbenas de Sant Joan, mis Nocheviejas tan diferentes, mi descubrimiento y amor a primera vista de la música, el PSUC y los mítines y manifestaciones en la Ciutadella, los conciertos de Santana y Bob Marley en la Monumental, Chema y Ángel, Carlos, Boi, Joaquín, Manolo, Juan Esteban... Verdadero cariño de amigos del alma.
Casi todo está metido ahí, encerrado en un cofre de oro guardado en mi mente, pero casi todo está ahí.
Gran parte de los mejores años de mi vida transcurrieron en ese triángulo.

Yo me propongo animarlos y así comenzar con el principio de que todos los hombres son aburridos, o ¿habrá quienes puedan ser tan aburridos como para contradecirme...? El aburrimiento es el origen de todo mal. Su historia se puede seguir desde el mismo comienzo del mundo. Los dioses estaban tan aburridos que crearon a los hombres. Adán estaba aburrido porque no tenía compañía, y entonces Eva fue creada. Desde este momento, el mundo comenzó por causa del aburrimiento, que empezó a crecer en proporción con el aumento de población. Adán se aburría solo. Luego, Adán y Eva se aburrieron juntos.
