So..earlier this week..
As the mercury dipped into single digits..

the city chugged down to a deep freeze..
the sleepy sidewalks slept alone..

I am fixed on love, I am lured to his flame
I keep watching love, I am drawn to his effulgence
Lutata hai vaha mai luta ja raha hun
Mitata hai vaha mai mita ja raha hun
He is plundering me, I am being robbed
He is erasing me, I am ceasing to be
Khabara kucha nahi hai kahan ja raha hun

I have no idea where I am going
He is calling me and I am going

And I wonder why I tear myself down
To be built back up again
Oh I hope somehow, I'll wake up young again
All that's left of myself
Holes in my false confidence
And now I lay myself down
And hope I wake up young again
Hope I wake up young again

Hebron, moschea di Ibrahim. Molte scolaresche in visita.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Al Jazeera: Deadly Israeli attacks target central and southern Gaza (Publ. 19 Oct. 2025)
Never ever deal with USA and Israel!
BOYCOTT ISRAEL AND USA!
DIVEST FROM ALL US AND ISRAELI COMPANIES!
SANCTION USA AND ISRAEL!
- By October 17, Gaza's media office accused Israel of violating the ceasefire 47 times, killing 38 Palestinians and injuring 143 others. The Gaza-based human rights organization, the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights, documented at least 129 violations by Israel since the beginning of the ceasefire. [that is, since 10 Oct. 2025]
- On October 14, Israeli forces killed at least seven Palestinians, six in Gaza City, including five by an aerial attack in Shuja'iyya and one by a drone strike in Khan Younis. The Israeli military said that the attacks in Shuja'iyya targeted individuals who advanced beyond the 'yellow line' after ignoring warning shots. Hamas spokesperson, Hazem Qassem, condemned the attacks, calling them a violation of the ceasefire agreement.
- On October 14, Israel closed the Rafah border crossing and stated that the amount of humanitarian aid allowed into the Gaza Strip would be reduced as a consequence of Hamas's failure to return the remains of all deceased hostages. After four bodies were handed over and further returns were announced for the following day, Israel briefly reversed the restriction. When no further remains were delivered, the crossing was again closed indefinitely. Hamas had earlier stated that recovery efforts were hampered because many burial sites were still unknown amid the extensive destruction in Gaza. Under the ceasefire terms, Israel was to permit up to 600 humanitarian aid trucks to enter Gaza each day. Since then, the limit had been reduced to 300, with Israeli officials attributing the change to ongoing delays in locating and recovering hostages' remains.
- On October 17, Israeli forces opened fire on a vehicle carrying 11 members of a civilian family in the Zeitoun neighbourhood of Gaza City, including women and children. The event took place after the vehicle entered a restricted area, and according to the IDF, ignored multiple warning shots. The Israeli attack killed nine individuals, with two individuals missing.
- On October 19, the Israeli army launched airstrikes and attacks in Rafah and Abasan al-Kabira. In addition, two Palestinians were killed by an Israeli airstrike in eastern Jabalia.
According to [Israeli] Channel 12, the attacks in Rafah was intended to protect members of the Popular Forces, an Israeli-backed militia led by Yasser Abu Shabab.

Rohtas Fort is a garrison fort built by the great king Sher Shah Suri. He constructed it to block Emperor Humayun's return to Indian subcontinent after defeating him in the Battle of Kanauj. The work on this fort was started in 1541.
Rohtas Fort is situated in a gorge approximately 16 km NW of Jhelum and 7 km from Dina. It was constructed on a hillock where the tiny Kahan river meets another rainy stream called Parnal Khas and turns east towards Tilla Jogian Range. The fort is about 300 feet (91 m) above its surroundings. It is about 4 km in circumference and covers an area of 12.63 acres (51,100 m2).
Taken: The Langar Khani Gate, Rohtas Fort, Pakistan.
The Common hawk-cuckoo also known as the brain fever bird.
This bird occurs across most of the Indian subcontinent, is arboreal and prefers wooded areas.
At first glance, you may think of it as a Shikra, a raptor, because of its markings, flight and mannerisms. This imitation intimidates other birds, giving it first dibs on the best feeding spots. It's favorite food seems to be hairy caterpillars.
The male has a loud screaming three-note call that rises to a crescendo, and repeats over and over again in a hysterical manner, mostly heard during the summer months, prior to the monsoon. This call has been decoded into various languages, depending on the listener’s culture - in North India, for example, it is interpretated as “peea kahan?”, or “where’s my lover?” uttered with increasing desperation. In the state of Maharastra, it is “paos ala”, a frantic warning that “the rains are coming”. The British, when reigning in India, concluded that this bird chanted “brain fever”.
Like many other cuckoos, this bird is a brood parasite, laying their eggs in nests of babblers.
Rohan Chakravarty, a cartoonist and illustrator, has a wonderful take on this behaviour - see this at www.greenhumour.com/2022/04/brood-parasitism-and-going-cu...

HRF Files Criminal Complaint in Italy Against IDF Soldier Israel Yitzhki for War Crimes, Crimes Against Humanity, and Genocide
Brussels / Rome – 15 December 2025:
The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) has filed a criminal complaint before the Italian judicial authorities against Israeli soldier Israel Yitzhki, a member of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), for his alleged involvement in war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts of genocide committed during Israel’s military campaign in the Gaza Strip.
The complaint was submitted to the Procura della Repubblica on the basis of universal jurisdiction, following confirmation that Yitzhki is currently present on Italian territory. Under international and Italian law, Italy is legally obliged to investigate and prosecute individuals suspected of grave international crimes when they are found on its soil.
Why Italy Has a Duty to Act
Italy is a State Party to the Geneva Conventions of 1949, the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, and the UN Convention Against Torture. These instruments impose a clear obligation on States to search for, investigate, and prosecute individuals suspected of grave breaches of international humanitarian law, regardless of nationality or where the crimes were committed.
The complaint explicitly invokes:
* Article 146 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which establishes mandatory universal jurisdiction over grave breaches;
* Article 5(2) of the Convention Against Torture, requiring prosecution when a suspect is present and not extradited;
* The principle of aut dedere aut judicare — extradite or prosecute.
As the filing makes clear, States cannot lawfully become safe havens for suspected perpetrators of international crimes.
The Context: Gaza as a Crime Scene
The complaint situates Yitzhki’s actions within the broader context of Israel’s campaign in Gaza, which UN bodies have repeatedly characterized as involving systematic violations of international law.
* Over 70,000 Palestinians have been killed, including more than 20,000 children;
* More than 170,000 people have been injured;
* 92% of homes, 88% of schools, 81% of roads, and 80% of commercial infrastructure have been destroyed or damaged;
* Hundreds of civilians have died from starvation and malnutrition, caused by the deliberate obstruction of food and humanitarian aid.
UN agencies, the International Court of Justice, and the International Criminal Court have all confirmed the seriousness of these crimes. Arrest warrants have already been issued by the ICC against Israeli leaders Benjamin Netanyahu (b. 1949) and Yoav Gallant (b. 1958) for crimes against humanity.
Alleged Crimes by Israel Yitzhki
According to HRF’s investigative findings, Israel Yitzhki served in the 432nd Battalion of the Givati Brigade and participated in operations involving:
* Extensive destruction of civilian property without military necessity;
* Attacks on undefended towns, residential buildings, and civilian objects;
* Arson and controlled demolitions of homes and shelters;
* Occupation and destruction of schools used as civilian refuges;
* Unlawful detention and humiliating treatment of Palestinian civilians, including the publication of images showing detainees blindfolded, handcuffed, and kneeling.
The complaint argues that these acts constitute war crimes under Article 8 of the Rome Statute, including:
* destruction of property not justified by military necessity;
* attacks against civilian objects;
* illegal detention of protected persons;
* outrages upon personal dignity and degrading treatment;
* and, potentially, torture and inhuman treatment.
Crimes Against Humanity and Genocide
Beyond individual war crimes, the filing asserts that Yitzhki’s actions may also qualify as crimes against humanity under Article 7 of the Rome Statute, including extermination, unlawful imprisonment, torture, and other inhumane acts committed as part of a widespread and systematic attack against a civilian population.
Crucially, the complaint also addresses genocide. It argues that the systematic destruction of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure — homes, schools, water systems, healthcare facilities — amounts to:
* causing serious bodily and mental harm; and
* deliberately inflicting conditions of life calculated to bring about the physical destruction of the Palestinian population, in whole or in part.
These conclusions align with findings issued in September 2025 by the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry, which determined that Israeli authorities are committing genocide in Gaza.
Request for Urgent Precautionary Measures
Given the gravity of the allegations and the risk that Yitzhki may leave Italy, HRF has requested that the Italian authorities consider urgent precautionary measures, including:
* seizure of passports and travel documents;
* preservation of digital evidence.
The filing also formally requests notification of any prosecutorial decisions, including extensions of investigations or potential dismissal, in accordance with Italian criminal procedure.
Abou Jahjah: No Safe Haven in Europe
This filing is part of HRF’s broader strategy to ensure that no European country becomes a refuge for perpetrators of atrocities committed in Gaza.
"International law is meaningless if it stops at borders", HRF General Director Dyab Abou Jahjah (b. 1971) stated.
"When those suspected of war crimes and genocide enter Europe, States must choose between impunity and justice. There is no third option", he added.
The Hind Rajab Foundation will continue to pursue accountability across jurisdictions until those responsible for crimes in Gaza — perpetrators, accomplices, and inciters alike — are brought before competent courts.

HRF Seeks Arrest of Israeli Soldier in Spain Over the Destruction of Beit Hanoun
Barcelona / Brussels – 3 December 2025:
The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) has filed a criminal complaint in Spain against Israeli soldier Benayau Nahum for his alleged responsibility in genocide and serious war crimes committed during Israel’s military operations in the Gaza Strip, particularly in the northern town of Beit Hanoun.
The complaint was submitted after confirming that the suspect was present on Spanish territory, triggering Spain’s obligations under international law to investigate and prosecute grave international crimes. HRF has formally requested the urgent arrest of the suspect to prevent his departure and to ensure accountability.
The Accused and His Military Unit
Benayau Nahum served as a soldier in the 97th Netzah Yehuda Battalion of the 900th Kfir Brigade. This unit has a long record of serious human rights violations, including:
* The killing of unarmed civilians,
* Abuse and torture of detainees,
* And the systematic destruction of Palestinian property.
The battalion has previously been implicated in internationally condemned cases and has repeatedly operated in occupied Palestinian territory with near-total impunity.
*** [ [Personal note: I can confirm this based on what I personally saw during my 2007-2011 UN-affiliated service in the Occupied West Bank. The worst criminal Israeli IDF "military" units by far are certainly the Kfir Brigade and the Nahal of the Nahal brigade.
These two units in particular - their history and all their members ought to be intensively investigated all the way back to 1967 and beyond. Consisting of predominantly jewish fundamentalists, religious zealots, zionists, criminals, kahanists, no-goods and madmen they certainly would be akin to any former member of the Nazi Waffen-SS in my eyes.
You have to be quite oblivious to history if you cannot see the similarities between Nazi Germany and these Israeli paramilitary / military groups represented by the Kfir, the Gadna and the Nahal. Israel is through and through a jewish supremacist militaristic fascist society.] ] ***
Its presence in Gaza formed part of Israel’s large-scale ground operations in the north of the Strip.
Destruction of Beit Hanoun
Between late 2024 and early 2025, Beit Hanoun was subjected to near-total destruction as part of a broader military strategy aimed at emptying northern Gaza of its population. Entire neighborhoods were set on fire, leveled by heavy machinery, and erased from the map.
The evidence in HRF’s possession places Benayau Nahum directly on the ground during these operations. It shows his participation in systematic destruction of civilian infrastructure, including homes and public buildings, at a time when Beit Hanoun was already largely depopulated and defenseless.
The scale of destruction in northern Gaza during this period rendered vast areas uninhabitable and made return impossible for most of the displaced population.
Legal Qualification of the Crimes
The complaint accuses Benayau Nahum of:
* Genocide, for contributing to conditions of life calculated to bring about the physical destruction of part of the Palestinian population;
* War crimes, including:
- Extensive destruction of civilian property not justified by military necessity;
- Attacks against civilian buildings and undefended towns;
- Participation in the forcible displacement of a protected civilian population.
Under international humanitarian law, civilian objects are strictly protected. The large-scale, methodical destruction documented in Beit Hanoun cannot be justified by any lawful military objective.
Spain’s Obligation to Act
Spain is bound by international law, including the Geneva Conventions and the Rome Statute, to either prosecute or extradite individuals suspected of committing genocide and war crimes when they are found on its territory.
Given the presence of the suspect in Spain and the lack of genuine proceedings elsewhere, HRF has requested:
* The opening of a criminal investigation;
* The immediate detention of the suspect;
* And the adoption of urgent measures to prevent his escape.
Breaking the Wall of Impunity
This complaint is part of HRF’s broader effort to dismantle the system of impunity protecting perpetrators of crimes against the Palestinian people. It sends a clear message that:
Participation in genocide and war crimes carries personal criminal responsibility, wherever the perpetrator may attempt to hide.
HRF continues to pursue similar cases across multiple jurisdictions and will not relent until justice is served.

Why Bar Associations Must Act: The Dutch Debate on Complicity and the Responsibility of Lawyers in International Crimes
3 November 2025:
On 2 December, the Dutch Bar Association (NOvA) [Nederlandse Orde van Advocaten] will hold an extraordinary assembly to address a question that is rapidly becoming unavoidable across the global legal profession:
What is the responsibility of lawyers when their work intersects with a state committing international crimes?
The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) welcomes the participation of its co-founder, Haroon Raza, a criminal defence attorney with more than twenty years of experience, in this meeting. Mr. Raza's contribution focuses on a reality many in the profession have long avoided confronting — that legal advice, corporate structuring, and financial facilitation can play a direct role in sustaining Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.
The Professional Environment: A Legal System Intertwined with Global Capital
The Netherlands stands at the centre of a dense network of financial and corporate structures. Tens of billions of euros connected to Israeli entities — including companies tied to the military, surveillance, technological development, and settlement expansion [ *** Personal note: For instance American Airbnb and Dutch Booking.com - just to mention a few! *** ] — flow through Dutch holding companies, investment funds, and advisory firms.
Lawyers are involved at every step: drafting corporate agreements, approving investments, advising on compliance, structuring acquisitions, and legitimising transactions.
When these structures are linked to a state perpetrating mass killing, starvation, forced displacement, and systematic destruction of civilian life, the role of the legal profession must be examined with honesty rather than ritualised neutrality.
Motion 3: An Attempt to Define Professional Boundaries
At the centre of the upcoming assembly is Motion 3, a proposal seeking to address precisely this challenge. The motion calls for the establishment of an independent committee within the Dutch Bar Association to evaluate the responsibilities of lawyers involved in high-risk transactions — particularly those connected to situations where there is a serious risk of contributing to war crimes, crimes against humanity, apartheid, or genocide.
Its purpose is straightforward:
* to articulate clear due-diligence requirements in high-risk contexts,
* to identify warning signs of potential complicity,
* to define professional standards of conduct, and
* to provide guidance on when lawyers must decline or withdraw from engagements.
Motion 3 is not a political statement. It is an attempt to bring the profession’s established principles — independence, integrity, and the duty to avoid unlawful conduct — into alignment with the realities of modern global practice. Comparable standards already exist for sanctions regimes, anti-money-laundering responsibilities, and other areas where legal services intersect with international harm.
The question is why similar principles have not yet been applied to Israel’s actions in Gaza, despite the scale and severity of the crimes.
A Profession Confronted With Its Own Infrastructure
Large law firms and corporate practices in major financial centres — London, New York, Paris, Frankfurt, Singapore, Dubai, Toronto — routinely advise clients with direct or indirect links to Israeli institutions, military industries, and settlement enterprises.
[ *** Personal note: A huge amount of these settlements are funded directly from the USA and needs to be examined most thoroughly - Example: The US 501(c) tax-exempted Hebron Fund ! Like WTF!? ]
In many cases, risk assessments are superficial or absent. The assumption that “legal advice is neutral” has become a shield against accountability.
This assumption is no longer tenable.
Speaking ahead of the assembly, Mr. Raza addressed the profession with unusual clarity:
"When a legal opinion, a contract, or a corporate structure helps sustain a system committing genocide, the lawyer involved cannot hide behind claims of neutrality. Our profession must recognise that routine legal work can become a vehicle for atrocity. Motion 3 is about safeguarding the integrity of the law — and ensuring we do not enable Israel’s crimes in Gaza."
His statement reflects a broader shift: lawyers are beginning to acknowledge that their professional activities can contribute materially to the functioning of systems responsible for mass violence.
The Broader Context: Accountability Beyond the Battlefield
The Hind Rajab Foundation’s work has repeatedly demonstrated that atrocity crimes do not occur in isolation. They are supported by corporate supply chains, financial networks, investment portfolios, digital infrastructure, and legal advice. Israel’s genocide in Gaza is no exception.
Legal professionals occupy a crucial position within these systems. Without their services, many transactions linked to military procurement, settlement construction, surveillance systems, or economic extraction simply cannot proceed.
The question for bar associations worldwide is not whether their members have political opinions. The question is whether their work strengthens — knowingly or unknowingly — the machinery of genocide.
A Necessary Evolution in Professional Self-Regulation
Motion 3 offers a model of what serious professional self-governance can look like. Bar associations across Europe, North America, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia should consider similar mechanisms:
* independent oversight bodies,
* mandatory due-diligence frameworks,
* explicit standards on complicity,
* and training on international criminal liability for legal advisors.
Such measures are not symbolic. They reflect the reality that the legal profession is now deeply embedded in the structures that make international crimes possible.
The Moment Ahead
Israel’s actions in Gaza — mass killing, destruction of civilian infrastructure, systematic starvation, and the targeted annihilation of families — constitute genocide. In this context, the legal profession’s responsibilities cannot remain undefined.
The debate within the Dutch Bar Association is a signal to bar associations everywhere:
The age of pretending that legal work exists outside the world’s worst crimes is over.
The credibility of the profession depends on its willingness to recognise this moment — and to act accordingly.

View On Black The Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra presented a program of Opera Ritaglia at F.D. Roosevelt High School, Hyde Park, on Saturday, January 31, at 7:30 p.m. The orchestra, chorus and soloists were under the direction of artistic director and conductor Kathleen Beckmann. The program featured excerpts from Guissepi Verdi’s La Traviata, with lyric soprano Kimberly Kahan as Violetta. Incidentally, Kimberly (shown above) broke her foot a week before the performance and did an incredible job anyway. Other soloists were tenor Erik Sparks, baritone Robert Weintraub, soprano Julie Aubin Heller, and baritone Eric Barsness. The orchestra and soloists were joined on stage by a chorus led by Dr. Ed Lundergan. Opera Ritaglia is a unique presentation developed by the Northern Dutchess Symphony Orchestra. The format allows the audience to experience opera in its abridged version. The opera was sung in Italian. Mini staging and English supertitles were added to increase the audience understanding of this beautiful story and music. --source: Hudson Valley Sojourner

20.6.1931
Today is one of those days when the monotony of everything closes about me as if I had just entered a prison. That monotony, however, is just the monotony of being me. Each face, even if it belongs to someone we saw only yesterday, is different today simply because today is not yesterday. Each day is the day it is, and there will never be another like it in the world. Only in the soul is there the absolute identity (albeit a false identity) in which everything resembles everything else and everything is simplified. The world is made up of promontories and peaks but all our myopic vision allows us to see is a thin all-pervading mist.
I’d like to run away, to flee from what I know, from what is mine, from what I love. I want to set off, not for some impossible Indies or for the great islands that lie far to the south of all other lands, but for anywhere, be it village or desert, that has the virtue of not being here. What I want is not to see these faces, this daily round of days, I want a rest from, to be other than, my habitual pretending. I want to feel the approach of sleep as if it were a promise of life, not rest. A hut by the sea, even a cave on a rugged mountain ledge, would be enough. Unfortunately, my will alone cannot give me that.
Slavery is the only law of life, there is no other, because this law must be obeyed; there is no possible rebellion against it or refuge from it. Some are born slaves, some become slaves, some have slavery thrust upon them. The cowardly love we all have of freedom - which if it were given to us we would all repudiate as being too new and strange - is the irrefutable proof of how our slavery weighs upon us. Even I, who have just expressed my desire to have a hut or a cave where I could be free from the monotony of everything, that is to say from the monotony of being myself, would I really dare to go off to this hut or cave, knowing and understanding that, since the monotony exists in me alone, I would never be free of it? Suffocating where I am and because I am where I am, would I breathe any better there when it is my lungs that are diseased and not the air about me? Who is to say that I, longing out loud for the pure sun and the open fields, for the bright sea and the wide horizon, would not miss my bed, or my meals, or having to go down eight flights of stairs to the street, or dropping in at the tobacconist’s on the corner, or saying good morning to the barber standing idly by?
Everything that surrounds us becomes part of us, it seeps into us with every experience of the flesh and of life and, like the web of the great Spider, binds us subtly to what is near, ensnares us in a fragile cradle of slow death, where we lie rocking in the wind. Everything is us and we are everything, but what is the point if everything is nothing? A ray of sun, a cloud whose own sudden shadow warns of its coming, a breeze getting up, the silence that follows when it drops, certain faces, some voices, the easy smiles as they talk, and then the night into which emerge, meaningless, the broken hieroglyphs of the stars.
- Fernando Pessoa (1888-1935)
"If you want I could tell the truth
That this life takes its toll on you
That I spend nights stitching up the loose threads of my soul
And in the mornings I’m bullet proof"

What you have to understand about Christianity as a whole is that in it’s very origin it really is nothing but a branch of a backwards tribal jewish messianic desert sect.
Without the Romans adopting this tiny little particular jewish cult as their state religion there would be no flourishing Christianity today.
And just think about it - without Christianity, there certainly would be no judaism either.
Judaism and Christianity are like conjoined twins that cannot exist without eachother.
Christianity desperately needs that totally fake and copied made-up jewish ‘heritage’ tale and ‘background story’ for their jewish godman ‘messiah’ Jesus to have any meaning at all.
Judaism itself is in dire need of the mighty might of Christianity to survive. Judaism would obviously have died out a long, long time ago was it not for Christianity and the Romans.
And without judaism and Christianity there would be no Islam either. Bonus.

HRF Files War Crimes Complaint in the Czech Republic Against Israeli Soldier Involved in War Crimes in Gaza (Publ. 22 Sept. 2025)
Prague 22 September 2025
The Hind Rajab Foundation has filed a criminal complaint before the Prague Municipal Public Prosecutor’s Office against Israeli soldier Roei Haimatan, a member of the Givati Brigade, for his alleged involvement in genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes, committed in the Gaza Strip.
The complaint, submitted through our Czech Legal Counsel Mr. Jan Täubel, is based on the principle of universal jurisdiction, which enables Czech courts to investigate and prosecute the most serious crimes regardless of where they were committed or the nationality of the suspected perpetrator. The Hind Rajab Foundation has confirmed that Haimatan is currently present in the Czech Republic.
Documented Involvement in Atrocities
According to evidence submitted with the complaint, including a detailed investigative report by the Hind Rajab Foundation, Roei Haimatan served in the “Mivtzait” company of the 435th Infantry Battalion “Rotem” of the Givati Brigade. This unit was among the first to enter Gaza following October 7, 2023.
Social media posts published by Haimatan himself provide evidence of his direct participation in forced displacement of Palestinian civilians. Additional material indicates his potential role in unlawful confinement, torture, and ill-treatment of civilians, as well as the destruction of civilian property.
Further evidence comes from members of his unit, including Mori Keisar, against whom HRF filed a complaint in January 2025.
Several soldiers have documented their deployment in Khan Younis during January and February 2024, revealing their involvement in additional crimes by Haimatan’s company:
- The destruction of civilian homes, including filmed demolitions
- The forced displacement of residents of Khan Younis
- Indiscriminate gunfire at civilians across different parts of Gaza
- The humiliation of Palestinian detainees, captured in photographs and videos
The Foundation stresses that his actions cannot be seen as isolated misconduct, but as part of a wider, systematic pattern of atrocities carried out by the Israeli military in Gaza.
Call for Immediate Action
The complaint urges Czech authorities to take urgent steps to secure accountability, including:
- Seizing Haimatan’s electronic devices (mobile phones, laptops, storage media) to preserve potential evidence.
- Imposing travel restrictions or detention to prevent flight or the destruction of evidence.
- Initiating a full investigation into his role in international crimes committed in Gaza.
Statements
Dyab Abou Jahjah (b. 1971), Chairman of the Hind Rajab Foundation:
'This case is about more than one soldier. Roei Haimatan’s actions reflect a broader system of impunity behind Israel’s assault on Gaza. By pursuing accountability wherever perpetrators are found, we affirm that those who commit genocide and war crimes will face justice.'
Natacha Bracq, Head of Litigation of the Hind Rajab Foundation:
'Czech law obliges prosecutors to act when suspects of genocide or war crimes are present on its territory. The evidence against Haimatan, much of it from his own social media, is credible and serious. The authorities must now open an investigation and secure the evidence without delay.'
Jan Taubel, Legal Counsel:
'War crimes should be prosecuted and punished regardless of the citizenship, religion or political affiliation of the perpetrators. I am very glad that TAUBEL LEGAL could at least in this way help justice to punish the atrocities committed by the occupation forces in Palestine. I firmly believe that the relevant Czech authorities will proceed impartially and regardless of any intervention attempts.'
A Broader Strategy Against Impunity
The complaint against Roei Haimatan is part of the Hind Rajab Foundation’s broader strategy to pursue legal accountability for Israeli officials and soldiers implicated in the ongoing genocide in Gaza. The Foundation is working at both the international level, through submissions to the International Criminal Court, and the national level, by triggering proceedings in jurisdictions across Europe and beyond.
By filing these cases, the Foundation seeks to ensure that individual perpetrators of atrocities face consequences and to close the space of impunity that has enabled repeated violations against Palestinians.

Oct. 10 2025: After 2 years and 3 days of incessant Israeli slaughter of Palestinians, the ‘Trump Ceasefire’ goes into effect in Gaza. I think it is important to remember that this is only a ceasefire deal, and as we all know, Israel has never adhered to any ceasefire deals.
Ever.
It is also important to remember one more thing: Palestine is still under occupation. This is not a ‘peace deal’ between two warring nations. Palestine is still an occupied country and a horribly oppressed population.
And therefore I feel it is in it’s place to on this day to also remind you all of the 19 July 2024 International Court of Justice’s advisory opinion on Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories, which was subsequently adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on 18 September 2024.
The International Court of Justice «concluded that Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories is unlawful, that Israel should put an end to that occupation, desist from creating new settlements, and evacuate those already established. It further concluded that where Palestinians have lost land and property, that Israel should pay reparations. […] It also found that all states, and institutions such as the U.N. Security Council and the United Nations General Assembly, are under an obligation not to recognise the occupation as legal nor "render aid or assistance" toward maintaining Israel's presence in the occupied territories.»
The United Nations General Assembly resolution called for «the end, within a year, to Israel’s unlawful presence in the West Bank and Gaza.»
That was one year and one month ago.
In the ICJ’s own words:
* the State of Israel’s continued presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory is unlawful;
* the State of Israel is under an obligation to bring to an end its unlawful presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory as rapidly as possible;
* the State of Israel is under an obligation to cease immediately all new settlement activities, and to evacuate all settlers from the Occupied Palestinian Territory;
* the State of Israel has the obligation to make reparation for the damage caused to all the natural or legal persons concerned in the Occupied Palestinian Territory;
* all States are under an obligation not to recognize as legal the situation arising from the unlawful presence of the State of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory and not to render aid or assistance in maintaining the situation created by the continued presence of the State of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory;
* international organizations, including the United Nations, are under an obligation not to recognize as legal the situation arising from the unlawful presence of the State of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory; and
* the United Nations, and especially the General Assembly, which requested the opinion, and the Security Council, should consider the precise modalities and further action required to bring to an end as rapidly as possible the unlawful presence of the State of Israel in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

Wikipedia: Killing of Hind Rajab (2024)
HER NAME WAS HIND
Her Foundation Takes 24 Israeli Soldiers and Commanders to the ICC for Her Murder
Brussels / The Hague - 21 October 2025:
One day after the broadcast of the Al Jazeera Arabic documentary “TIP OF THE ICEBERG” — —
[A must-see documentary in Arabic with English captions available that also exposes Israeli war criminals Shimon Zuckerman, a german-israeli dual citizen; Adi Carni who was discovered in Brazil and subsequently left for Peru; Yuval Vaghdani who was also discovered in Brazil and Elisha Lichman who was observed in Cyprus and escaped back to Israel]
— — in which the Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) revealed the identity of the Israeli battalion, company, and commanders responsible for the killing of six-year-old Hind Rajab — the Foundation has submitted a 120 pages Article 15 filing to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.
This new filing names 24 Israeli soldiers and commanders responsible for the killing of Hind Rajab, six members of her family, and two Palestinian Red Crescent paramedics, Yusuf al-Zeino and Ahmed al-Madhoun, who were deliberately targeted while attempting to rescue her on 29 January 2024 in Gaza City.
The 24 Named Perpetrators
The submission builds on HRF’s first communication of 3 May 2025, and provides detailed evidence identifying the Vampire Empire Company of the 52nd Armoured Battalion (“Ha-Bok’im / The Breachers”), operating under Israel’s 401st Armoured Brigade.
The complaint names:
- Colonel Beni Aharon (b. 1982), Commander of the 401st Armoured Brigade
- Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Ella, Commander of the 52nd Armoured Battalion
- Major Sean Glass, Commander of the Vampire Empire Company
along with 22 identified tank crew members of the same company who directly participated in or facilitated the attack.
In the Al Jazeera Arabic documentary, HRF publicly revealed the identities of the commanders and of tank crew member Itay Cukierkopf. The remaining 22 names have now been submitted confidentially to the ICC and will be made public progressively, as national-level complaints are filed in different jurisdictions.
Evidence and Legal Grounds
The communication includes comprehensive digital, satellite, and forensic evidence confirming that Merkava IV tanks of the Vampire Empire Company repeatedly fired on the black Kia Picanto in which Hind and her family were trapped, and later targeted the ambulance sent to rescue her.
The attacks were carried out with full knowledge of the victims’ civilian and protected status, following prior coordination between the Palestinian Red Crescent and Israeli authorities.
The Foundation’s legal team concludes that these acts amount to war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide, under Articles 6, 7, and 8 of the Rome Statute.
Expanding the Fight for Justice Worldwide
In parallel with the ICC filing, HRF is pursuing national prosecutions under both universal jurisdiction and dual nationality jurisdiction, targeting perpetrators who hold foreign citizenships in addition to Israeli nationality.
A first case has already been filed in Argentina against Itay Cukierkopf, one of the tank crew members named in the ICC complaint. Further cases are being prepared in Europe, Latin America, and North America, ensuring that no war criminal can find refuge behind borders or passports.
«This is not only a legal act — it’s a revolt against the global order of impunity,» said Dyab Abou Jahjah (b. 1971), General Director of the Hind Rajab Foundation.
«They believed Hind's murder would be without accountability; we are proving them wrong, step by step. Twenty-four names are now before the ICC, and more will follow in national courts. Justice is not a favor we ask — it is the inevitable reckoning of truth.»
A Call to the ICC
The Hind Rajab Foundation calls on the Office of the Prosecutor of the ICC to:
- Incorporate the killing of Hind Rajab and her rescuers into the Situation in the State of Palestine;
- Expand the investigation to include the Vampire Empire Company, the 52nd Armoured Battalion, and the 401st Armoured Brigade;
- Issue arrest warrants for the 24 identified perpetrators.
Natacha Bracq, Head of Litigation at HRF, stated:
«This submission establishes a direct chain of command, operational control, and deliberate intent. The evidence demonstrates the organized and systematic nature of the attack, meeting the legal thresholds for prosecution under international criminal law. The Hind Rajab case is not isolated — it represents a wider pattern of violations that the ICC must urgently address. The rule of law cannot remain selective when the crime is genocide.»
The killing of Hind Rajab was meant to break a people’s spirit; instead, it awakened a global movement for justice. Every file we submit, every name we reveal, and every courtroom we enter carries her memory as a challenge to the arrogance of power. The age of impunity is ending — and Hind’s name will mark where it began to fall.

HRF and Partners Invoke Universal Jurisdiction in Canada Seeking Arrest of Olmert and Livni for War Crimes
Ottawa, 3 December 2025
The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF), the Canadian Lawyers for International Human Rights (CLAIHR), and the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR) filed a complaint to the RCMP and the Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Section of the Department of Justice today ahead of Former Israeli Prime Minister 2006-2009 Ehud Olmert (b. 1945) and Former Israeli Foreign Minister 2006-2009 Tzipi Livni’s visit to Toronto. The complaint details Olmert and Livni’s participation in war crimes and crimes against humanity during the 2008–2009 Gaza War. The complaint urges the RCMP to open an investigation into their roles and issue a warrant for their arrest pursuant to Canada’s Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Act, S.C. 2000, c. 24, and in compliance with Canada’s obligation under Article 146 of the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 to “seek out and prosecute” those reasonably suspected of grave breaches who set foot in Canada.
As Prime Minister of Israel from 2006 to 2009, Olmert exercised ultimate political and civilian authority over Israeli military operations in Gaza in the 2008-2009 War. Under his leadership, the Israeli military executed a massive military campaign that resulted in alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity, including: targeted and indiscriminate attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure, the use of white phosphorus munitions in densely populated areas, the destruction of homes, mosques, medical facilities, and UN schools sheltering displaced families, extrajudicial killings and shootings of civilians attempting to flee or waving white flags, torture of Palestinian detainees, denial of humanitarian access and obstruction of medical rescue operations, and the deliberate targeting of infrastructure essential to civilian survival.
As Israel’s foreign minister and a member of Olmert’s security cabinet, Tzipi Livni (b. 1958) played a key role in the decisions made before and during the 2008-2009 War. Livni was reported stating the following with respect to Operation Cast Lead:
«Israel is not a country upon which you fire missiles and it does not respond. It is a country that when you fire on its citizens it responds by going wild – and that is a good thing».
Olmert and Livni, as senior government officials and members of the Security Cabinet, had full access to detailed operational information and played key roles in shaping and authorising Israel’s wartime policies. Their public endorsements of the conduct, coupled with their failure to take meaningful action in response to credible reports of serious violations, make them liable as civilian superiors under the Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Act (CAHWCA).
«Universal jurisdiction exists for precisely these moments. We cannot let political power protect those suspected of grave crimes. Canada must show that no one is above the law,» said Henry Off, a Canadian lawyer and Board Member at CLAIHR.
«Those who planned, ordered, and supervised crimes committed against Palestinians — whether in the past or present — must be held accountable, as war crimes and crimes against humanity have no statute of limitations,» said Natacha Bracq, Head of Litigation at HRF. «The Hind Rajab Foundation calls on Canada to act without delay, in fulfillment of its international obligations, because justice cannot be postponed or denied.»
Both have already been the subject of criminal complaints in Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, and Switzerland. In December 2009, a UK court issued an arrest warrant for Livni on the basis of alleged war crimes committed during the 2008-2009 Gaza War. Last month, the Hind Rajab Foundation filed a complaint against Olmert in Germany over alleged war crimes committed during Operation Cast Lead.
Moreover, given that the RCMP has opened a structural investigation into the ongoing Israel- Gaza War, the complaint also calls on the RCMP to question Olmert and Livni over their knowledge of the commission of international crimes in Palestine since 7 October 2023.

Statement on the Cooperation Between Europol and the Hind Rajab Foundation
Brussels, 19 November 2025
On 22 October 2025, Europol invited the Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) to speak at its annual meeting in The Hague. This invitation forms part of a broader communication process and an exploration of possible cooperation between HRF and Europol. In the last two days, several Israeli lobby groups and media outlets have expressed consternation regarding this interaction.
It is not unusual for law enforcement to cooperate with civil-society organisations in the fight against impunity. In fact, during the Rwandan genocide and other mass-atrocity contexts, civil-society organisations played an instrumental role in identifying perpetrators and uncovering critical evidence. The pursuit of justice for the genocide in Gaza will be no different.
The fact that lobby groups defending or denying the genocide are angered by this cooperation is no surprise. They seek to obstruct justice; we seek to allow justice to take its course.
On the factual side, an HRF delegation consisting of our Head of Litigation, Natacha Bracq; Operational Director, Karim Hassoun; Board Member, Haroon Raza; and led by our General Director, Dyab Abou Jahjah, attended the meeting in The Hague. Mr. Abou Jahjah addressed the assembled delegations during a session organised specifically for the foundation, and Ms. Bracq delivered a presentation outlining HRF’s methodology in evidence gathering and case-building.
Delegations from several European countries attended the sessions and expressed strong interest in our work and in exploring cooperation. Multiple bilateral meetings took place with national war-crimes units and other law-enforcement representatives, during which mutual cooperation was discussed—particularly in relation to sharing HRF evidence on Israeli war criminals who visit these countries or who hold their nationality.
Israeli lobby groups and media outlets have spent months pushing smears and defamation against the Hind Rajab Foundation and its founders. Their reaction now is predictable: Europol’s decision to engage with HRF and invite it to its annual convention makes clear that these accusations are baseless. A law-enforcement agency would never extend such an invitation if it had even the slightest doubt about the foundation or its leadership. This is precisely why the hasbara machinery is now frustrated.
Furthermore, Europol is a European law-enforcement agency, and the HRF is a European organisation. Foreign lobby groups and foreign governments cannot be allowed to dictate how European institutions engage with European citizens and European civil society.
The Hind Rajab Foundation remains fully focused on its mission: bringing war criminals to justice and ending Israel’s impunity. That mission necessarily includes cooperation with law-enforcement bodies and relevant stakeholders across Europe and beyond.

HRF Moves Against Israeli Soldier in Denmark for War Crimes and Genocide
17 November 2025 – Copenhagen
The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) has filed a criminal complaint in Denmark against Israeli soldier Sergeant Ohad Hillel, a member of the 846th Patrol Battalion “Samson’s Foxes” of the Givati Brigade, for his role in war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts of genocide committed during Israel’s military campaign in the Gaza Strip.
The complaint was filed by HRF’s Danish legal counsel, Eddie Omar Rosenberg Khawaja, with the Copenhagen Police and the National Special Crime Unit (NSK) [National enhed for Særlig Kriminalitet]. It is submitted under Denmark’s newly strengthened legal framework for prosecuting international crimes, drawing on both Danish criminal law (§118 c, §118 f, §118 g, §118 h) and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
This filing makes Denmark the latest European country where HRF activates universal jurisdiction mechanisms to prevent Israel’s war criminals from enjoying impunity abroad.
HRF’s investigation confirms that Ohad Hillel served in Gaza from January 2024 to August 2025, during the most destructive phases of the invasion. At the moment of filing, he was located in Copenhagen and traveling around Denmark with his Danish partner.
HRF warns that individuals directly involved in the destruction of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure are now traveling freely across Europe, including in countries legally obliged to investigate grave international crimes.
Documented Involvement in the Destruction of Shuja’iya and Jabalia
HRF’s investigative report—submitted as Appendix A to the complaint—provides extensive evidence of Hillel’s participation in:
1. The burning of the Shuja’iya neighbourhood
Members of his battalion filmed and celebrated the torching of residential buildings, calling it the «8th candle of Hanukkah — burning Shuja’iya.»
Hillel posted images of a burning civilian structure on the same day.
He photographed himself inside Hittin Basic School, a protected civilian facility.
2. The destruction of Jabalia
Hillel posted photographs and videos from UNRWA Health Centre facilities, documenting the Givati Brigade’s occupation of a UN humanitarian building.
His battalion also posted videos of forced displacement, arson, and arrests.
Jabalia was turned into “acres of rubble,” with 1,339 buildings destroyed.
These actions were not incidents of combat, but deliberate, systematic, and punitive destruction of civilian life and infrastructure once the IDF already had full operational control of the areas.
Crimes Under Danish and International Law
The complaint argues that Hillel’s actions constitute violations of:
- §118 f(2) – destruction of civilian property without military necessity
- §118 h(3) & (9) – attacks on undefended civilian buildings, towns, and dwellings
- §118 g(1) – attacks on humanitarian facilities (UNRWA)
- §118 c(1)(iii) – imposing conditions of life meant to bring about the destruction of a protected group
- Based on Article 6(c) of the Rome Statute and the September 2025 findings of the UN Commission of Inquiry
HRF’s report places Hillel within the broader Israeli policy of systematically destroying Gaza’s ability to sustain life—homes, water systems, schools, hospitals, and civilian districts.
HRF: Denmark Must Not Be a Gateway for Atrocity Crimes
«Denmark cannot allow its territory to become a revolving door for soldiers who took part in the systematic devastation of Gaza», said Dyab Abou Jahjah (b. 1971), General Director of the Hind Rajab Foundation. «This is not only a legal issue—it is a political and moral test for Europe. If European states want credibility when they speak about human rights and international law, they must ensure that individuals like Ohad Hillel face genuine investigation and accountability, not safe passage.»
«Much of what happened in Gaza cannot be characterized as combat operations. It was the result of methodical and systematic destruction», said Natacha Bracq, Head of Litigation at HRF. «Civilian neighborhoods were deliberately burned, protected structures were intentionally destroyed, and entire communities were erased through purposeful actions. Evidence indicates that Ohad Hillel participated in these acts. Under international law, Denmark has both the legal basis and the obligation to act.»
The complaint urges Danish authorities to immediately launch a criminal investigation under §§118 c, 118 f, 118 g, and 118 h of the Danish Criminal Code, prevent Ohad Hillel from leaving the country, and seize all electronic devices that may contain evidence of his actions in Gaza. It also calls for an inquiry into possible aiding and abetting under §§21–23 and for formal updates pursuant to §158 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
For the Hind Rajab Foundation, this case is part of a broader global strategy: ensuring that no Israeli soldier implicated in war crimes, crimes against humanity, or genocide can have sanctuary. HRF is pursuing perpetrators across multiple jurisdictions, building a legal firewall against impunity. We will continue this work until every perpetrator, every accomplice, and every inciter of the Gaza genocide is held accountable.

The filing was submitted by JUDr. Jan Täubel, LL.M., attorney-at-law at TAUBEL LEGAL in Prague, acting on behalf of HRF. It is grounded in an HRF Investigative report, which documents Tsuriely’s direct involvement in the destruction of civilian structures and his public glorification of these acts through music.
Tsuriely is currently in the Czech Republic, having performed in Prague on 13 November 2025.

According to HRF’s investigation, Tsuriely deployed with the 699th Paratroopers Battalion of the 551st “Fire Arrows” Brigade on 27–28 October 2023, entering the Gaza Strip as part of the ground invasion. His own social media posts document multiple entries into Gaza, repeated deployment cycles, and direct involvement in destruction operations.
A key incident occurred on 8 November 2023, when the 551st Brigade carried out a controlled demolition in Beit Hanoun, destroying a civilian building located above tunnels near a UNRWA school. HRF’s geolocation analysis and military-source verification place Tsuriely at the scene during the operation.
Controlled demolitions require full control of the area, entry into the structure, placement of explosives, and withdrawal — a method incompatible with claims of active combat or urgent military necessity. The structure therefore remained a protected civilian object, making its destruction a war crime under the Rome Statute and under Czech law (Sections 412 and 413 CC).
War Crimes and Genocidal Context
HRF’s complaint invokes Czech universal jurisdiction under:
- Section 7 of the Czech Criminal Code (universal jurisdiction)
- Section 400 – Genocide
- Section 401 – Crimes against humanity
- Section 412 – War atrocities
- Section 413 – Persecution of population
and is filed pursuant to Section 158 of the Czech Criminal Procedure Code.
HRF finds that Tsuriely’s actions may constitute several crimes:
- Intentionally attacking protected buildings (Rome Statute Art. 8(2)(b)(ix))
- Extensive destruction of property not justified by military necessity (Art. 8(2)(a)(iv))
- Attacking undefended towns, villages, and dwellings (Art. 8(2)(b)(v))
- War atrocities (Czech CC §412)
Given that by January 2025, 70% of Gaza’s structures, 92% of homes, and 80% of commercial facilities had been destroyed, HRF concludes that Tsuriely’s actions contributed directly to the genocidal destruction of Palestinian life.
This aligns with the UN Commission of Inquiry’s September 2025 finding that Israel has committed genocide, including the deliberate infliction of conditions of life aimed at destroying the population.
«The massive destruction of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure is the most clearly defined component of genocide,» said Natacha Bracq, HRF’s Head of Litigation.
«Noam Tsuriely took part in that destruction. He helped erase entire neighborhoods, and then he turned that devastation into entertainment.»
Weaponizing Music to Normalize Atrocities
After returning from Gaza, Tsuriely released the song “Another Day in Gaza”, framing Israeli soldiers as “the light” — even as the UN and leading human rights organizations classified Israel’s actions as genocide.
During a December 2024 performance, he projected real footage of Israeli troops storming Palestinian homes and demolishing buildings. In televised interviews, he performed lyrics such as:
«to shatter Gaza to pieces.»
His role as both a soldier and a public artist magnifies the impact of his conduct. Under Czech law, such performances may also constitute:
- Section 365 – Approving a criminal offence, and
- Section 356 – Inciting hatred against a group of persons.
«You cannot commit war crimes in Gaza and then tour Europe as an artist as if nothing happened,» said Dyab Abou Jahjah (b. 1971), HRF's General Director.
«This man is weaponizing his art as an extension of the war crimes he helped commit. Europe cannot serve as a stage for perpetrators.»
HRF Calls on Czech Authorities to Act
The complaint urges Czech prosecutors to:
1. Open criminal proceedings under Sections 400, 401, 412, and 413 CC
2. Seize Tsuriely’s electronic devices to preserve evidence
3. Impose a travel ban or detain him
4. Investigate possible incitement and approval of war crimes during his performances in Prague
Under Section 7 CC, Czech authorities are fully empowered to prosecute Tsuriely — regardless of where the crimes were committed.
HRF reiterates that Europe must not become a transit hub or sanctuary for individuals who committed atrocities in Gaza.
From Beit Hanoun to Prague, HRF will continue to track, document, and pursue accountability for all perpetrators — artists, soldiers, commanders, and public figures alike.

HRF Files for the Arrest of Israeli Soldier Sharon Dawit in Cyprus for Torture, War Crimes, and Genocide
11 November 2025 – Brussels / Nicosia
The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) has officially filed a legal complaint before Cypriot authorities demanding the arrest of Israeli soldier Sharon Dawit — a Sergeant in the 424th Infantry Battalion “Shaked/Almond” of the Givati Brigade — for his direct involvement in acts of torture, war crimes, and genocide committed during Israel’s military campaign in Gaza.
The filing, submitted on 11 November 2025 by human rights lawyer Nikoletta Charalambidou on behalf of HRF, is based on the Foundation’s investigative report documenting Dawit’s participation in the humiliation and abuse of Palestinian detainees, including a verified image showing him posing proudly over a naked, blindfolded, handcuffed man in Gaza.
From Evidence to Legal Action
The case details Dawit’s deployment with the Givati Brigade from December 2023 to September 2024, and his role in systematic operations involving torture, destruction of civilian property, forced displacement, and psychological degradation.
On 2 January 2024, Dawit posted a photomontage on Instagram, including a photograph where he sits armed in an armchair while a naked Palestinian man kneels before him, handcuffed and blindfolded. HRF authenticated this image using digital forensic tools, concluding that it depicts an act of torture and inhuman treatment in violation of the Rome Statute and the UN Convention Against Torture.
The Foundation’s filing requests Cypriot authorities to act immediately under Article 5(1)(e)(v) of the Cypriot Criminal Code (Cap. 154), which provides for universal jurisdiction over war crimes and crimes against humanity committed outside Cypriot territory. The submission also invokes the Republic’s obligations under the Rome Statute, the Geneva Conventions, and Law 235/1990, which require the arrest of individuals credibly suspected of torture to ensure prosecution.
A Pattern of Abuse
The Givati Brigade, to which Dawit belongs, was among the first Israeli army units to enter Gaza after October 7, 2023. HRF’s investigation shows that it played a leading role in attacks on civilians, destruction of residential areas, looting, and forced displacement.
The acts captured in Dawit’s photo reflect a broader, systematic pattern of abuse. HRF and its partners have documented the use of identical stress positions and humiliation methods, confirming that such practices are institutional, not incidental — a policy of collective degradation carried out under the cover of war.
A Legal and Moral Imperative
«This case is not symbolic — it is procedural and concrete,» said Natacha Bracq, HRF’s Head of Litigation.
«Torture is one of the clearest and most universally condemned crimes in international law. Sharon Dawit’s act, captured and publicized by himself, is the visual proof of a system built on humiliation and domination.»
The filing outlines that Dawit’s conduct constitutes multiple violations under the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, including:
- War crimes – torture and cruel treatment (Article 8(2)(a)(i));
- Crimes against humanity – torture and other inhumane acts (Article 7(1)(f) and (k));
- Genocide – causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of a protected group (Article 6(b)).
HRF’s report also references the UN Commission of Inquiry’s September 2025 findings, which concluded that Israeli forces have committed acts meeting the legal threshold for genocide in Gaza — including systematic torture and sexualized violence against detainees.
Cyprus Must Not Become a Safe Haven
«Cyprus must decide what side of history it stands on,» said Dyab Abou Jahjah (b. 1971), Director General of the Hind Rajab Foundation.
«If suspected war criminals can land on European soil, holiday freely, and leave without consequence, then Europe’s commitment to justice is an illusion. Cyprus cannot become a safe haven for perpetrators of genocide — and this filing is a test of its resolve to uphold international law.»
HRF stresses that this case goes beyond one soldier: it is part of a wider effort to end impunity and enforce accountability for the crimes committed during Israel’s ongoing campaign in Gaza. The Foundation’s team has filed or supported multiple legal actions across Europe and at the International Criminal Court, using verifiable evidence collected through open-source intelligence, witness testimonies, and forensic documentation.
Justice Has No Borders
From Brussels to Nicosia, HRF is pursuing perpetrators wherever they are found, in coordination with national prosecutors and international legal mechanisms. The Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to end impunity and restore dignity to the victims of Israel’s ongoing campaign of annihilation.
«Justice begins when impunity ends,» Bracq added. «Our work is to bridge that gap — with evidence, law, and the courage to act where others remain silent.»

HRF Files War Crimes Complaint in Germany Against Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert for Crimes Committed in 2008-2009
Brussels / Berlin, 5 November 2025
The Hind Rajab Foundation has filed a criminal complaint (Strafanzeige) in Germany against former Israeli Prime Minister 2006-2009 Ehud Olmert (b. 1945) for war crimes committed during the 2008–2009 Israeli military offensive on Gaza, known as Operation “Cast Lead.” Ehud Olmert is scheduled to appear publicly in Berlin on 6 November 2025.
The complaint, submitted by German lawyer Melanie Schweizer, was filed simultaneously with the General Public Prosecutor’s Office in Berlin and the Federal Public Prosecutor General (Generalbundesanwalt) in Karlsruhe, which has jurisdiction over international crimes under Germany’s Code of Crimes against International Law (Völkerstrafgesetzbuch, VStGB).
Criminal Responsibility of Ehud Olmert
As Prime Minister of Israel from 2006 to 2009, Ehud Olmert (b. 1945) exercised ultimate political and military authority over all Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) operations, including the assault on Gaza launched on 27 December 2008.
Under Olmert’s leadership, the Israeli government and military high command executed a large-scale military campaign that resulted in the indiscriminate bombardment of densely populated civilian areas, the destruction of hospitals, schools, and UN facilities, and the killing of more than 1,300 Palestinians, among them over 300 children and 115 women. More than 5,000 people were injured and tens of thousands of homes were destroyed.
The Goldstone Report, the Amnesty International report “Operation Cast Lead: 22 Days of Death and Destruction” (Publ. 2 July 2009), and the Human Rights Watch report "Rain of Fire" documented a consistent pattern of deliberate or reckless targeting of civilians and civilian objects, the use of white phosphorus munitions in populated areas, and collective punishment of the entire Gaza population through the systematic destruction of vital infrastructure.
Under international law, political and military leaders bear command responsibility for war crimes committed by forces under their control when they knew or should have known of such crimes and failed to prevent or punish them. The complaint therefore holds Olmert personally responsible for the planning, authorization, and failure to restrain or prosecute these actions.
Documented War Crimes During Operation Cast Lead
The HRF complaint outlines a catalogue of grave breaches of international humanitarian law, including but not limited to:
- Targeted and indiscriminate attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure in violation of Articles 51 and 52 of Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions, corresponding to §§ 8 and 11 of the German VStGB.
- Use of white phosphorus munitions in densely populated areas such as Tel al-Hawa, Khuza’a, and Beit Lahiya, causing severe burns and civilian deaths.
- Destruction of homes, mosques, medical facilities, and UN schools sheltering displaced families, as in the Jabaliya UNRWA school attack and the 2009 Al-Fakhoura school shelling.
- Extrajudicial killings and the shooting of civilians attempting to flee or waving white flags, including entire families such as the Al-Samouni family in the Zeitoun district.
- Denial of humanitarian access and obstruction of medical rescue operations, resulting in wounded civilians bleeding to death.
- Deliberate targeting of infrastructure essential to civilian survival, including water facilities, power stations, and food storage sites.
These actions, the complaint argues, constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity under both customary international law and German law, which incorporates the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court through the VStGB.
Urgent Legal Action in Germany
The Hind Rajab Foundation’s legal filing requests the immediate initiation of a criminal investigation, the issuance of an arrest warrant, and a European Arrest Warrant against Olmert.
The complaint notes that Ehud Olmert is scheduled to appear publicly in Berlin on 6 November 2025 at the Haaretz Democracy Conference, hosted by the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung. The Foundation therefore calls on German authorities to act swiftly to prevent his departure and ensure he is held to account.
Universal Jurisdiction and the Fight Against Impunity
Germany’s Code of Crimes against International Law (VStGB), enacted in 2002, allows the prosecution of war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide even if committed abroad by foreign nationals. It has already enabled landmark cases against perpetrators from Syria and other conflict zones.
The Hind Rajab Foundation argues that the same legal principle must apply to Israeli officials responsible for crimes in Gaza.
«The victims of Gaza deserve justice, no matter how much time has passed,» said Dyab Abou Jahjah, General Director of the Hind Rajab Foundation. «Those responsible for war crimes must know that accountability has no expiration date and that the world is closing in on impunity.»
The Foundation stressed that it will not allow any war criminal to travel, pose, or speak anywhere as if they are above the law. Justice must be served — even decades after the crimes were committed.

Hind Rajab Foundation Files War Crimes Complaint in Germany Against Israeli Extremist Elkana Federman for Torture and Starvation of Civilians
Berlin, October 31, 2025
The Hind Rajab Foundation has filed a criminal complaint before the German Federal Prosecutor (Generalbundesanwalt) in Karlsruhe against Elkana Federman, an Israeli national affiliated with the Kfir Brigade’s Battalion 94 (Duchifat) and the extremist organization Tsav 9, for war crimes and crimes against humanity under the German Code of Crimes Against International Law (VStGB). The complaint, submitted by Attorney Melanie Schweizer on behalf of the Foundation, demands the immediate arrest of Federman and the issuance of a European Arrest Warrant. The filing is based on extensive digital evidence showing his direct involvement in acts of torture and the systematic obstruction of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Elkana Federman is currently in Berlin, where he appeared on October 30, 2025, as a speaker at a public propaganda event.
Torture and Abuse of Prisoners
Videos and public statements by Federman reveal his participation in and glorification of the abuse of Palestinian detainees.
In one widely circulated interview, Federman boasts about taking his dog “to Gaza as a fighter” and claims the animal “dealt with Palestinian prisoners” at the Sde Teiman detention facility, where human rights organizations — including B’Tselem — have documented systematic torture, sexual violence, and inhuman treatment.
The complaint notes that Federman’s statements were made in a public setting, eliciting laughter from interviewers and panelists, highlighting the normalization of torture within the military and settler extremist culture he represents.
Such actions fall under §7(1) Nr. 5 and Nr. 6 VStGB, which criminalize torture and sexual violence as crimes against humanity.
Starvation of Civilians as a Weapon
Federman is also a prominent member of Tsav 9, a far-right Israeli group sanctioned by the United States in 2024 for blocking humanitarian aid convoys bound for Gaza.
Through multiple videos and social media posts, Federman personally participated in and encouraged others to physically obstruct trucks carrying food and medicine.
Such actions directly contributed to the starvation of civilians, a method of warfare prohibited under §11(1) Nr. 5 VStGB, which defines the deliberate deprivation of food as a war crime.
The complaint references UN reports confirming that hundreds of Palestinians, including children, have died from hunger in 2025 due to Israel’s blockade and obstruction of humanitarian relief.
Universal Jurisdiction and Accountability
Under Germany’s universal jurisdiction, crimes under the VStGB can be prosecuted regardless of the perpetrator’s nationality or where the crimes occurred.
The Hind Rajab Foundation calls on the German Federal Prosecutor to:
1. Open a criminal investigation into Elkana Federman;
2. Order his pre-trial detention due to the risk of flight;
3. Issue a European Arrest Warrant to ensure his apprehension within EU territory.
Federman was reportedly sighted in Berlin on October 30, 2025, underscoring the urgency of the request.
Statement from the Hind Rajab Foundation
«The deliberate starvation of an entire population and the torture of prisoners are among the gravest crimes known to humanity,» said Dyab Abou Jahjah (b. 1971), Director of the Hind Rajab Foundation.
«Elkana Federman’s conduct, proudly displayed online and tolerated within Israeli society, embodies the cruelty and impunity that have defined this genocide. Germany has both the legal authority and the moral duty to act.»
This filing follows the Hind Rajab Foundation’s complaint in Germany against IDF officer Shimon Avi Zuckerman, as well as similar actions by NGOs targeting an Israeli sniper. The case of Elkana Federman, however, offers a unique opportunity for Germany to act decisively, as he is affiliated with Tsav 9, a group already designated by the United States as violent and extremist. Taking legal action in this case would affirm Germany’s commitment to international law, human rights, and accountability, and demonstrate that justice applies equally—regardless of political sensitivities or alliances.

HRF Files Criminal Complaint in Germany Against Dual National IDF Soldier Shimon Avi Zuckerman
Brussels / Karlsruhe, 24 October 2025
The Hind Rajab Foundation has filed a detailed criminal complaint with the German Federal Prosecutor General (Generalbundesanwalt) against Shimon Avi Zuckerman, a German-Israeli dual national who served as a combat engineer in the 8219 Engineer Battalion of the Israeli army’s 551st Brigade during its military operations in the Gaza Strip.
The complaint, submitted on 30 May 2025 through German attorney Melanie Schweizer, accuses Zuckerman of committing:
- War crimes under §9 of the German Code of Crimes Against International Law (VStGB),
- Crimes against humanity under §7 VStGB, and
- Genocide under §6 VStGB.
Who is Shimon Avi Zuckerman?
Zuckerman is a publicly known figure who actively documented his military activities during Israel’s war on Gaza. On his Instagram account, he shared extensive footage and images from the battlefield — not only of his presence and actions in combat zones, but specifically of the destruction of Palestinian civilian infrastructure.
The complaint identifies Zuckerman visually in multiple videos and posts as he detonates or celebrates demolitions of residential buildings. The posts often include graphic scenes of destruction, paired with celebratory gestures such as smoking shisha, cheering with fellow soldiers, or posing for the camera before and after explosions.
Documented Crimes and Key Incidents
Among the most egregious episodes documented is Operation “Nir and Oz”, in which the Palestinian town of Khuza’a, home to approximately 5,000 residents, was completely demolished. Zuckerman’s unit — the 8219 Engineer Battalion — played a central role in the destruction of this civilian area, reducing homes, schools, mosques, a water station, and a community building to rubble.
Footage posted by Zuckerman shows him directly triggering demolitions, cheering with comrades, and documenting the destruction as a form of performance. In one instance, he is seen posing and laughing as buildings collapse behind him. In another, a techno-themed video clip shows him initiating an explosion without wearing a helmet — indicating a non-combat situation and a lack of military necessity.
The complaint also cites independent investigative journalism by platforms including Bellingcat [PS - Check out: How to Archive the Web - Bellingcat’s Auto Archiver Tool] and The Washington Post, which have verified the identities, locations, and operations of Zuckerman and his unit. These reports are incorporated into the legal filing as corroborating evidence.
Germany Must Act as a State of Law — Not of Political Convenience
«The evidence is not just overwhelming — it is self-incriminating,» said Dyab Abou Jahjah (b. 1971), General Director of the Hind Rajab Foundation. «Shimon Zuckerman posted his own crimes online. He is a German national, clearly identified, taking part in the unlawful destruction of an entire town, and celebrating it. If Germany refuses to act on this, it sends the message that law applies only when politics allow. A state of law cannot choose justice selectively.»
Legal Obligation and Consequences of Inaction
Attorney Melanie Schweizer, who filed the complaint on behalf of the Hind Rajab Foundation, emphasized Germany’s legal responsibility:
«The German state has a clear obligation under the Code of Crimes Against International Law. This is not optional. If the Prosecutor General fails to investigate, that failure itself may amount to complicity. It would be a legal and moral abdication — and we are fully prepared to challenge that in German and international courts if necessary.»
She continued:
«We are not dealing with vague allegations. We are dealing with documented acts of violence against civilians, published by the suspect himself, corroborated by multiple independent investigations, and committed by a person holding a German passport. Justice demands action.»
Legal Action and Demands
The Hind Rajab Foundation is requesting the immediate:
- Opening of a formal investigation,
- Issuance of an arrest warrant, and
- Consideration of pre-trial detention due to the seriousness of the alleged crimes and the suspect’s dual nationality and mobility.
Ongoing Legal Strategy
This complaint is part of the Hind Rajab Foundation’s broader legal campaign to expose and prosecute war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during Israel’s war on Gaza. The Foundation is working with legal teams across multiple jurisdictions to pursue both individual perpetrators and those in positions of command responsibility.
As more evidence surfaces and survivors come forward, the Hind Rajab Foundation remains committed to transforming that evidence into legal action.

Wikipedia: Gaza Genocide
- London, UK, 28 July 2025 — The Hind Rajab Foundation has today filed a formal criminal complaint with the UK Metropolitan Police War Crimes Unit regarding the Israeli military assault on the British-flagged humanitarian vessel Handala in international waters on the night of 26–27 July 2025
The complaint, lodged under the Geneva Conventions Act 1957 and the International Criminal Court Act 2001, urges UK authorities to open an immediate investigation into grave breaches of international law and war crimes committed by Israeli forces.
The assault was carried out by the Shayetet 13 naval commando unit, under the command structure of the Israeli Navy, whose Commander-in-Chief is Vice Admiral David Saar Salama (b. 1969). The complaint also targets officials within the Israeli military and government who may have authorized, planned, or facilitated the operation. The Hind Rajab Foundation is calling for these individuals to be identified, investigated, and—where evidence permits—prosecuted or arrested under UK jurisdiction.
At the time of the raid, the Handala was sailing approximately 49 nautical miles off the coast of Gaza, carrying 21 unarmed civilians, including:
* Chloé Fiona Ludden, a British humanitarian volunteer
* Emma Fourreau (b. 1999), Member of the European Parliament (France)
* Gabrielle Cathala (b. 1992), Member of the French National Assembly
* Jacob Berger, a Jewish-American activist
* Journalists, lawyers, and aid workers from 12 countries
All were detained without legal basis and forcibly taken to Israel.
The ship’s humanitarian cargo—baby formula, medical supplies, and food—was confiscated, and communications were cut immediately after Israeli forces boaed the vessel.
The Handala is a British-flagged vessel, and as such, constitutes an extension of UK sovereign jurisdiction. The seizure of the ship and arrest of its passengers in international waters constitutes an assault on British legal territory, a violation of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), and a grave breach of the Fourth Geneva Convention. It also directly defies the binding orders of the International Court of Justice, issued in early 2024, which require the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
The Hind Rajab Foundation is requesting the following from UK authorities:
1. Immediate opening of a criminal investigation into the operation;
2. Identification and questioning of all 21 passengers, especially UK nationals;
3. Legal action against Vice Admiral David Saar Salama (b. 1969), Shayetet 13 commanders, and any political or military officials responsible;
4. Placement of suspects on watchlists and preparation of arrest warrants for any who may enter the UK;
5. Coordination with Interpol, the International Criminal Court, and UN mechanisms to ensure international accountability.
This case follows the pattern of previous illegal interceptions, including the recent attack on the Madleen and the 2010 Mavi Marmara raid. The Handala incident is not isolated—it is part of a systematic campaign to criminalize humanitarian aid and suppress civilian solidarity with Gaza under the guise of military enforcement.
The Hind Rajab Foundation will not relent.
We are committed to exposing and confronting every act of illegality and brutality carried out under the cloak of state power. The attack on the Handala is an attack not only on aid workers and civilians—but on international law, human dignity, and the very principle of accountability.
Justice must be done. The perpetrators must face consequences.

- NICOSIA, Cyprus, 25 July 2025 – The Hind Rajab Foundation has filed a formal criminal complaint with the authorities of the Republic of Cyprus demanding the immediate arrest of Tameer Mulla, an Arab Druze Israeli soldier currently on Cypriot soil, for his direct involvement in war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts potentially amounting to genocide during Israel’s onslaught in the Gaza Strip between 2023 and 2025.
Tameer Mulla served in the 101st Paratroopers Battalion of the 35th Paratroopers Brigade of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), a frontline unit that played a central role in the destruction of Palestinian cities, hospitals, and refugee camps. Mulla entered Cyprus on 18 July 2025 and is believed to still be in the country. The complaint includes overwhelming documentation of Mulla’s personal participation in grave violations of international law. These include:
1. Deliberate Attacks on Civilian InfrastructureArticle 8(2)(b)(ii) of the Rome Statute.
2. Systematic Forced Evacuation of Protected Persons
On 26 February 2024, Mulla personally oversaw and documented the forced evacuation of civilians from Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis. The hospital, besieged for weeks, housed over 10,000 displaced persons, 450 patients, and 300 medical staff.
Under threat of snipers, shelling, and a complete communications blackout, civilians—including children, the elderly, and wounded patients—were removed in a coercive and humiliating operation. This constitutes the war crime of unlawful transfer of protected persons under Article 8(2)(a)(vii) of the Rome Statute.
3. Attacks on Educational Institutions
Mulla was present at and documented the destruction of the Jabalia Elementary Boys School in May 2024. Footage shows the school facility in ruins, likely destroyed during or immediately after an IDF operation in the area. His presence at the scene and glorification of the attack raises strong grounds to prosecute for attacks on buildings dedicated to education, in violation of Article 8(2)(b)(ix) of the Rome Statute.
4. Glorification and Incitement
Mulla posted numerous videos, stories, and reels mocking the destruction of Palestinian civilian infrastructure. These include:
* Sarcastic videos inside looted or destroyed homes, barbershops, and electronics stores;
* A montage likening his role in Gaza to a video game, including footage of live fire and explosives;
* A Netflix-style graphic listing the Palestinian cities he helped destroy: Al-Zeitoun, Gaza City, Rimal, Shuja’iyya, Khan Yunis, Deir al-Balah, Jabalia.
This public glorification of war crimes and devastation reflects clear intent, ideological motivation, and a lack of remorse, strengthening the case for prosecution under both Cypriot and international law.
Cyprus is bound under universal jurisdiction, its own Penal Code, and international treaties to prosecute individuals on its territory accused of crimes against humanity and war crimes—even when committed abroad.
The Hind Rajab Foundation demands that the Republic of Cyprus act immediately to:
* Arrest Tameer Mulla without delay;
* Prevent his departure from the country;
* Initiate a full criminal investigation and prosecution;
* Cooperate with international bodies to ensure justice is served.
The people of Gaza are not invisible. Those who destroy hospitals, homes, and lives with impunity must be held to account.

Boom, Belgium, 21 July 2025 — In what may become a turning point in the global pursuit of accountability, Belgian federal police have arrested and interrogated two Israeli soldiers credibly accused of war crimes in Gaza. The action came in response to an urgent legal complaint filed by the Hind Rajab Foundation and the Global Legal Action Network (GLAN) earlier this week.
The suspects were identified and arrested with a clear show of force at the Tomorrowland festival in Boom. After being taken into custody, they were formally interrogated and released. The Belgian Federal Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that a criminal investigation is now underway.
This development is a significant step forward. It signals that Belgium has recognized its jurisdiction under international law and is treating the allegations with the seriousness they deserve. At a time when far too many governments remain silent, this action sends a clear message: credible evidence of international crimes must be met with legal response — not political indifference.
We do not claim that justice has been served — not yet. But we believe something important has begun. For the first time in Europe, Israeli suspects linked to crimes in Gaza have been subjected to formal arrest and questioning. This would not have been possible without the strength of the law and the will to apply it.
To the victims and survivors in Gaza: we see you, we hear you, and we carry your demands for justice forward.
To those who believed impunity was permanent: this moment shows that it is not.
And to states watching around the world: universal jurisdiction is not just a principle — it is an obligation.
The Hind Rajab Foundation and GLAN welcome this breakthrough with determination and humility. We will continue to support the ongoing proceedings and call on Belgian authorities to pursue the investigation fully and independently.
Justice must not stop here — and we are committed to seeing it through.

- Brussels, Boom, 19 July 2025 - Two individuals responsible for grave international crimes—including war crimes and genocide committed in the Gaza Strip—are currently on Belgian soil, attending the Tomorrowland music festival in Boom. The Hind Rajab Foundation, in association with GLAN, has submitted urgent legal complaints to the Federal Prosecutor, calling for their immediate arrest and prosecution under Belgium’s universal jurisdiction laws.
These individuals are not fringe actors or incidental participants. They are directly implicated in some of the most egregious crimes committed during Israel’s ongoing military campaign in Gaza, including:
* Indiscriminate attacks on civilian areas, homes, and hospitals;
* The use of torture and human shields;
* Mass arbitrary detention and forced displacement of civilians;
* And the deliberate infliction of conditions calculated to destroy the Palestinian population, consistent with genocide under Article 6 of the Rome Statute and the Genocide Convention.
Givati Brigade Flag Waved
A group of young Israeli men were yesterday seen at Tomorrowland while waving the flag of the Israeli Givati Brigade — a unit extensively documented for its role in the systematic destruction of civilian infrastructure in Gaza and for carrying out mass atrocities against the Palestinian population.
The Givati flag, publicly displayed in the heart of Belgium, is not just a military symbol. It has become, for millions, a symbol of impunity, destruction, and ethnic cleansing. Its appearance in Boom raises urgent political questions: Why are those involved in grave international crimes able to walk freely, celebrate in public, and glorify their actions without consequence?
The situation is not isolated. Just days ago, in Dirkputstraat in Boom, a Palestinian flag was forcibly torn down from a private residence by a group of young Israeli men of military age, in an act the resident described as deeply intimidating. The symbolism is stark: while war crimes suspects display their military insignia freely, the symbols of their victims are attacked.
This convergence—of impunity, intimidation, and silence—demands a clear response from Belgian society and its legal institutions.
A Legal Obligation, Not a Political Option
Belgium is bound by international law to investigate and prosecute individuals suspected of genocide and war crimes when they are present on its territory. These obligations arise from:
* The Genocide Convention (1948),
* The Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ratified by Belgium in 2000),
* And the Belgian Penal Code, which incorporates universal jurisdiction over war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.
A State Party is legally required to prosecute or extradite genocide suspects the moment they are found on its soil—regardless of nationality or rank.
The evidence presented by the Hind Rajab Foundation is clear, credible, and legally sound. The individuals currently in Belgium are accused of acts that:
* Destroyed entire neighborhoods in Gaza under the guise of “security”;
* And deliberately targeted Gaza’s capacity to survive—its water systems, agriculture, housing, and medical infrastructure.
«These actions were not incidental. They were executed with intent—to destroy a people, to erase a future» said HRF's Chairman Dyab Abou Jahjah (b. 1971). «If Belgium allows these individuals to leave unchallenged, it will be complicit in granting impunity to the perpetrators of genocide» he added.
Belgium Must Act Now
Tomorrowland, a global stage of culture and celebration, must not become an unwitting sanctuary for war criminals. Belgium has long prided itself on supporting international justice. That legacy is on the line.
We therefore urge:
* The immediate arrest of the individuals named in the complaints;
* The opening of formal investigations and prosecutions;
* And measures to prevent any departure from Belgian territory, including the seizure of travel documents and devices.
There is still time to act. But that time is quickly running out.

- Lisbon / Brussels, 14 July 2025 - The Hind Rajab Foundation has filed a formal legal complaint in Portugal against Israeli sniper Dani Adonya Adega for his role in the Israeli genocidal campaign in Gaza, which involved grave violations of international law, including targeted killings of civilians during a ceasefire and the appropriation of civilian property for military use.
The complaint was submitted by Portuguese human rights lawyer Carmo Afonso, and is based on extensive documentation gathered by the Foundation’s legal and investigative teams over the past months. The Hind Rajab Foundation has verified Adega’s presence in Lisbon, Portugal, where he was photographed and geolocated in July 2025.
Adega, a sniper affiliated with the 8114th Battalion of the Israeli army, served in Gaza under the 252nd Division, commanded by Brigadier General Yehuda Vach. This division has been widely condemned for establishing the Netzarim Corridor "kill zone», a deadly passage through central Gaza where civilians—many of them children—were systematically shot on sight by sniper teams and armored patrols.
Adega himself publicly boasted about lethal sniper activity, posting an image on social media with the caption:
“4 rounds, 0 misses 🎯🔥”
The post was made during a declared ceasefire in early 2025, at a time when Palestinian armed groups had suspended operations. During that ceasefire alone, over 170 Palestinian civilians were killed, with sniper fire accounting for many of the documented deaths. Adega’s social media posts show him operating from inside civilian buildings in Gaza, smiling and posing in uniform while armed with a sniper rifle, often in destroyed residential areas.
«This is not only a matter of justice for Gaza—this is a test for Portugal,» said a spokesperson for the Hind Rajab Foundation. «Adega is not hiding. He is walking freely in a European capital after boasting about sniper kills committed during a ceasefire. Portugal must act.»
Under the principle of universal jurisdiction, Portugal has the legal authority—and obligation—to detain suspected war criminals found on its territory. The Hind Rajab Foundation is calling on Portuguese authorities to immediately arrest Dani Adonya Adega and initiate criminal proceedings in line with international law.
This complaint is part of the Foundation’s broader campaign to hold Israeli military personnel accountable for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during the 2023–2025 Gaza onslaught. The Hind Rajab Foundation reiterates its unshakable commitment to pursuing all individuals involved in war crimes against the Palestinian people—wherever they may be, and regardless of rank or nationality.
This case is not an isolated one. Our legal pipeline is full, with dozens of ongoing investigations and complaints being prepared for submission across multiple jurisdictions.
Impunity will no longer be the norm. Justice is coming.

- Brussels, 19 June 2025 - The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) has today filed an urgent and damning complaint with the European Investment Bank’s Complaints Mechanism (EIB‑CM), demanding an immediate end to the Bank’s blatant complicity in Israel’s crimes against the Palestinian people.
Despite the binding International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruling of 19 July 2024, which orders all States and international organisations to “prevent trade or investment relations that assist in the maintenance of the illegal situation created by Israel,” the EIB continues to funnel over €1 billion in European public funds to Israeli companies blacklisted by the United Nations for their direct role in illegal settlement expansion and apartheid policies.
This betrayal occurs as EU leaders meet today and tomorrow to review the Association Agreement with Israel — the main treaty governing the EU’s political and economic ties with a state that stands accused of grave breaches of international law, including genocide, apartheid and ethnic cleansing.
The EIB is financing Israel’s land theft, ethnic cleansing, and apartheid — with European taxpayers’ money,” said Dyab Abou Jahjah (b. 1971), The Foundation's Chairman. “This is not oversight, this is complicity. As Europe claims to champion human rights, its own bank bankrolls the bulldozers and bulldozes the law.”
EIB Money, Israeli Crimes
The Hind Rajab Foundation’s complaint exposes how four flagship EIB operations enable blacklisted actors to build and sustain the settlements that shred Palestinian lives and land:
* €500 million channeled through Bank Leumi, notorious for underwriting settlement housing, industrial zones, and local councils in stolen Palestinian territory.
* €250 million for the Tel Aviv Light Rail Green Line, awarded to Electra, which expands settler connectivity and cements de facto annexation.
* Further “green transition” and “financial inclusion” facilities worth €250 million and €96 million, again handed to Bank Leumi, a bank that signs decades-long pledge agreements with illegal settlement municipalities.
These funds directly prop up a regime of forced evictions, land grabs, and settler violence. According to the UN, 2025 has seen a surge in attacks and mass displacement — yet the EIB continues to supply the financial oxygen that sustains the apartheid system.
A Moment of Reckoning for the EU
This complaint lands at a critical moment: the EU is right now reviewing its Association Agreement with Israel, which binds the relationship to respect for human rights and international law. The Hind Rajab Foundation warns that the EU’s credibility is at stake: it cannot pretend to uphold international law while its own financial arm empowers Israel’s colonization machine.
“Either Europe enforces the ICJ ruling and halts this complicity, or it admits its treaties and human rights talk are worthless when it comes to Palestinian lives,” said Abou Jahjah.
Demands
The Hind Rajab Foundation demands:
1. Immediate suspension of all EIB funding to UN-blacklisted Israeli companies and settlement-related projects.
2. A full independent compliance review, not the EIB’s cosmetic box-ticking, but a real audit with public disclosure.
3. EU leaders, in their Association Agreement review this week, must condition any further cooperation on verifiable compliance with international law, and sanction financial actors who fuel Israel’s illegal settlements. This must logically lead to a direct halt of all the effects of the association agreement.
No More Excuses — Stop Funding Apartheid Now
It is no longer acceptable for European leaders to preach about human rights while signing blank cheques for banks and corporations that profit from stolen land and shattered lives.
Every euro that flows through the EIB into Israel’s occupation machine is a betrayal of the Palestinian people and a stain on Europe’s conscience. There is only one honest choice: Stop the money, end the complicity, and stand on the right side of history.

Lima, Peru - 23 May 2025:
In a landmark development for international justice, the Republic of Peru has formally opened a criminal investigation against an Israeli national accused of participating in the genocide in Gaza, following a legal complaint submitted by the Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF).
The complaint was filed by Julio César Arbizu González (b. 1974), a prominent Peruvian human rights lawyer and legal counsel to the Foundation.
The individual under investigation served as a combat engineering soldier in the Israeli military and is alleged to have played a direct role in the methodical and systematic destruction of civilian neighbourhoods in the Gaza Strip during the 2023–2024 military offensive.
The complaint, supported by audiovisual documentation and open-source intelligence, accuses the soldier of engaging in actions that constitute war crimes, crimes against humanity, and acts of genocide.
This step by Peruvian authorities is of immense significance in the global pursuit of justice. It is not only an affirmation of Peru’s adherence to the principles of international humanitarian and criminal law, but also a decisive recognition that universal jurisdiction must be exercised—not merely acknowledged—when those responsible for international crimes are found within a state’s territory.
Crucially, this case highlights the central role played by the Combat Engineering Corps of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) in the implementation of Israel’s genocidal campaign against the Palestinian population of Gaza. Far from being a support unit, the Engineering Corps has acted as a core operational arm of destruction, systematically reducing civilian areas to rubble, erasing entire communities, and rendering large swathes of Gaza uninhabitable. This unit, through its actions, has become one of the primary mechanisms of the genocidal machine.
In response, the Hind Rajab Foundation has undertaken a comprehensive legal offensive targeting this formation. To date, the Foundation has prepared hundreds of individual case files against members of the Combat Engineering Corps. These cases are being progressively submitted before competent national jurisdictions in countries across multiple continents, with more filings to follow in the weeks and months ahead.
The opening of this investigation in Peru demonstrates that the HRF’s legal actions against travelling Israeli soldiers are not symbolic gestures—they yield tangible legal consequences. It is a powerful precedent, affirming that no perpetrator of atrocity crimes should feel shielded by distance or diplomatic complacency.
The Hind Rajab Foundation calls upon all states—particularly those that are parties to the Geneva Conventions and the Rome Statute—to follow Peru’s example by initiating proceedings against individuals implicated in the Gaza genocide who may enter their jurisdictions.
“Justice is not optional. Justice is imperative,” said Dyab Abou Jahjah (b. 1971), Chairman of the Hind Rajab Foundation. “This investigation marks a decisive step in the dismantling of Israeli impunity" he added.
The Hind Rajab Foundation will continue to pursue all responsible individuals—wherever they are, and for as long as it takes—because only justice can lay the foundation for lasting peace and human dignity in Palestine and beyond.
