A never before seen perspective of one of the greatest and most challenging mountains in the world. 4,000 people have summited Everest, whilst less than 400 can claim the K2 title. It's a beast. The first ever winter ascent was accomplished by Nirmal in 2021 and his elite Sherpa team, which was an incredible achievement. Every mountain you see in the foreground would be world class by itself, but since there are so many of them in this area, some of them even go unnamed. Chongtar Kangri in the left is 7,330 meters or 24,000 feet. And although it looks small, this "little friend" of K2 is over 4,000 feet taller than the tallest mountain in North America. Getting to this location alone, is extraordinary. The challenges are vast and numerous.

Dordt in Stoom 2022

With 8611 meters, after Mount Everest (8,848 m) is the second highest mountain on Earth and most difficult to climb.

The K2 is known as the wild mountain because of the difficulty of climbing and being the second in percentage of fatalities among the "eight thousand" to those who scale. For every four people who have reached the summit, one has died trying.
