It is my happy place, the beach. The sounds, the smells, the motion of the salt water. It is where I went this weekend to breathe and regroup. It was needed big time cause I was a total grump!!
So today I'm posting beach rocks. Kind of strange, I know, but darn it, I love them and they give me those comforting feels I needed so badly this weekend. They therefore have my heart! :-)

Golden Ears Provincial Park is a Provincial park in British Columbia, Canada and is 555.9 square kilometres (214.6 sq mi). It is named after the prominent twin peaks which are commonly referred to as Golden Ears (Mount Blanshard) (elevation: 1,716 metres (5,630 ft)). The park's southern end is located on the northern edge of the district municipality of Maple Ridge on the north side of the Fraser River.
The park was originally part of Garibaldi Provincial Park (established 1927) but was split off as a separate park in 1967.]

i took this photo on a very cold winter's morning
it was a grey overcast low light with a bit of frost & fog
i really didn't expect to find anything to shoot on this extra cold & dreary day, but as always, i take my camera with me just in case something interesting does happen to catch my eye . . .then, there it was . . and . . .here it is
one of my all time favorite happenstance photos.
although the original photo is lackluster, i could tell even in that very moment of taking the photo that it was special and i could brighten it up a bit in editing . .which i did
it took my breath away and has been my favorite photo of all time ever since December 2 2020.
this will be the last time i enter this photo into a contest, as i hope to find a new "favorite of all time" in 2023. :)

We drove straight home from Sleeping Bear Dunes; only stopping for gas and a few random lighthouses. I 'spect there are loads of cliches here!! Namely a bench ... an empty bench. It was a gorgeous view across the lake to the lighthouse.
I wish we'd had d more time, there are so many lighthouses around Lake Michigan; but we were more interested in planting our tent for this trip ... and not driving around so much! There is always next year!

I feel like I do too many silhouettes now, but oh well. This I believe was the morning of Black Friday, and I woke up at 5:34 A.M. I don't know why I remember this so clearly, but I do. I remember wanting to go Black Friday shopping, but my parents didn't want to get up and drive, so no super great deals for me that morning. I was also out in the rain later that day, I like the rain, but then I got sick. So the two days after that I was in bed sick with a sore throat and head ache.
Sometimes this is what I feel like. Some days we need to just do nothing. Sit back and concentrate on breathing, sounds simple enough.

These captivating bald cypress (Taxodium distichum) look prehistoric and are native to the southeastern states. Makes me wonder how this family was transplanted here to the Niles Canyon district of Fremont. These trees are usually knee deep in water, but the drought has taken a toll on this and other natural habitat across the state of California.
This shot is basically SOOC and is how my little part of the world looks in late Summer/early Fall when Harvest time begins. I hope it will look like this hundreds of years from now, as well.
Please consider doing something today (and each day) to help the Earth...
-if you don't recycle, recycle something or change a light bulb to a fluorescent bulb
-try printing on both sides of your paper or bring your own glass or mug to work instead of using Styrofoam or plastic
-bring your own bag when you shop
