My summer is rapidly coming to an end. *sigh kind of sad/excited at the same time. It feels like summer just started. There has been a lot of stuff happening this summer which is good but at the same time I'm sad because its over. Yay for college though!
So this day (yesterday), was Summerjam (thanks liv). You know... a concert, with bands. It was fun and interesting. I went with some of my dearest and closest friends: Jon, Olivia and Boaz. It was a good time.
I feel like this picture represents my summer well.
Starbucks= many late/sleepless nights
House= not my house, but where I ended up a lot of the time
Shades= summer, duhhh (yeah so what if they're purple)
Car= old reliable, taking me anywhere and everywhere I wanted to go
..... starts flooding the orchid greenhouse at closing time. But if you're very lucky, if you didn't block the path with your photographic equipment, if you didn't step into the flower beds, and if you did'nt spritz any of the flowers with water, the caretaker may let you stay an extra few minutes....

Afters years of work in the laboratory I have finally managed to clone myself. I have amassed an army of mini-me's to do my evil bidding. I well send them forth to conquer bars, game rooms, and recreation centers throughout the world. After this success my ultimate goal is within reach. To create a life sized clone of myself that I can send to work and do all of those others things I would rather not do. Leaving the real me free to travel the world with my camera and romance strange women in far away countries. Wait, I am married.... I gues I will have to send my clone to do that too. Damn!!!!

Taken while staying at Flam, Norway. Our hytte was just off to the left on the shore. We took our 12' rowing boat and drove right under the stern of the QE2 and touched her from underneath. She feels like a big boat when you do that. Then we drove all along the starboard side and right under the bow from where I took this. Its a wide angle shot so the top of the picture is looking vertically upwards.

I'm going to have a rant this morning - skip reading this if you're not in the mood. I found one of my stock photos used in a montage this morning (on Flickr) and in the description a rant about how some of this persons art had been stolen and uploaded to a wallpaper site and how terrible it was that people stole art. I was a bit bemused really because this montage had no credits for the stock images used! and none of this persons images had credits (AND I recognise other stockers photos!) I consider that to be theft too - my photo used and no credit given or link to the original.

Both of us love to take a quick stroll in the morning before the sun floods the backyard. This is something we do together pretty much every day!

On Central Park West, which lines Central Park, I saw this young teenager waiting for the bus and snapped away. She has the flag of the Dominican Republic tucked into the strap of her back pack.
The trees in Central Park still have that lovely bright green color only found in new leaves, and there is some lovely moss growing on the wall.
Although she's wearing the universal uniform of youth, jeans, sneakers and a tee-shirt, she also is sporting a rather large red bow in her hair. Most teen girls in this country wouldn't be caught dead with such an ornament! But cultural ties run deep; perhaps her mother suggested it. Then again, it may have been her own idea. She certainly is lovely, and the bow heightens the innocence of her gaze.

I toyed (briefly) with the idea of doing another 365 this year. Not that it seems very realistic, given how few photos I took and posted last year, but I felt I needed some kind of motivating challenge.
In the end, though, I've decided against. Picking a challenge I'm certain to fail is so last year, dahlink. In the end, I'm just going to pick up a number of one-off challenges, and try to do something photography related every day ... even if it's just thinking about pictures I might take.
How's that for setting the bar low, eh?
So today is a gentle start, thinking it over, no crazy doomed-to-failure-by-February resolutions, just a few quiet changes. Let's see where it takes us.

(And for those who remember it, this inhabits the space where that infamous window used to be. I'm afraid I've had it knocked out. But hey, this doesn't look too bad, right?)

many thanks to big al for this most feztastic of pressies! i used to collect pins when i was in high school (the who, the beatles, the police, etc.), and yes, i wore them on my denim jacket... and this brings me right back. love that. i also love his music -- check out i wanna live in a lighthouse, for example. so impressive!

336/365: On Saturday, I had to work in a special project all day long. In fact, this is the second Saturday I had to work in this past month and I've been having trouble coping with that. Saturday is so precious to me... I love to wake up a little later than usual, have a yummy breakfast and spend the day thinking in whatever keeps my mind off work.
I hope this project ends soon.
Advertisement for tourism in Holland. I think I'd like it there, especially with the great bike culture!
