HMM
Laurel leaf and spider, it just suddenly appeared on the scene! Last season's Laurel leaf showing it's marvellous veins and textures. Entering the 'autumn years' brings out the beauty and character of many...or as my dear mum used to say, 'it's the map of life'! There is a certain beauty with age :)
For macro mondays theme 'just leaves'.
HMM everyone :)

Schade, dass es kein Duft-Flickr gibt ;-)
It is a pity that there is no scent-flickr ;-)
Took a few different shots for tomorrows MM, this one has had the most colour work though (not as much as you might think) so in it goes to sliders!
HSS!
I bought a little macro lens that fits over the iPhone. It's proving as difficult to control as the iPhone camera itself, with the results variable. However, I love this yellow / green leaf...

Thème des "macro mondays" :les feuilles, uniquement des feuilles.
Celles-ci se trouvent à la surface d'un étang abandonné et donc pas très propre
"Just leaves" for Macro mondays.
I love these Alchemilla (Frauenmantel) leaves, especially after rain.
There is something about Eucalyptus that always leaves a soothing feeling. They remind me of when we used to spend our summers at the beach. As we got off the freeway and drove along the road to where we would stay, the road was lined with tall, aromatic Eucalyptus trees and we knew we were close to the ocean. It was wonderful.
Sometimes, to remind me of them, I'll put a few drops of Eucalyptus oil into some steamy hot water and soak some washcloths to absorb the wonderful scent. When it's hot out, I put them in the freezer for a couple of hours so they are extra refreshing.
I love the various colors that Eucalyptus leaves turn when they fall. Seems there are always Autumn Leaves no matter what time of year...
For Macro Mondays. Theme: Just Leaves
✽
The topic for Macro Mondays is Just Leaves, so I took what appeared to be a smooth, shiny leaf and got down real close with my macro lens and found out it isn't so smooth and shiny after all.
I had saved this leaf for several months and was never really sure how I was going to use it until that is I saw this week's MM theme :-))

This leaf detail kept me thinking of Crete's labyrinth.
In case you want to read a different version of the myth, I cannot recommend more enthusiastically Julio Cortázar's Los Reyes. Here's an excerpt (in its original Spanish): " El ovillo es ya menudo y gira velocísimo. Del laberinto asciende una sonoridad de pozo, de tambores apagados. Pasos, gritos, ecos de lucha, todo se confunde en el uniforme murmullo como de mar espeso. Sólo yo sé. ¡Espanto, aleja esas alas pertinaces! ¡Cede lugar a mi secreto amor, no calcines sus plumas con tanta horrible duda!. ¡Cede lugar a mi secreto amor! ¡Ven, hermano, ven, amante al fin! ¡Surge de la profundidad que nunca osé salvar, asoma desde la hondura que mi amor ha derribado! ¡Brota asido al hilo que te lleva el insensato! ¡Desnudo y rojo, vestido de sangre, emerge y ven a mí, oh hijo de Pasifae, ven a la hija de la reina, sedienta de tus belfos rumorosos! El ovillo está inmóvil. ¡Oh azar!"

This is a leaf from an unnamed tree at a park near my workplace. The photo was taken using a manual Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 at 16 mm and a 49mm extension tube and further cropped. Total magnification is around 3-4:1.
The leaf was sitting on top of a glass table and illuminated from the bottom with a cheap UV lamp. You can see some of the original green on the larger vessels and in between the channels, as well as a wide rage of blues and violets anywhere else.
HMM to all!
