Always a great walk with fine views. I have three walks which takes me along this coastline. The shortest is about 5 miles the medium walk is in the region of 9 miles and the longest is about 15 + miles.

Making the most of the good weather and doing one of my favourite circular walks on the Dorset coast. Start and finish at Kingston with a cream tea at Kimmeridge, total distance about 7/8 miles. Set of 4 images.

** I currently have many photographs in my archives of chalk cliffs from Yorkshire, Sussex Dorset and Normandy in France …not that I am a chalk cliff obsessive

These cliffs are from Dorset taken looking West from Durdle Door on the Jurassic coast . The headland you can see in the distance is Bats head. If you look to the horizon you can see about six large Cruise ships . They were apparently using the English Channel as a nautical car park. The shot was taken in 2020 the first year of the pandemic and of course Cruise ships were going nowhere

THANKS FOR YOUR VISIT TO MY STREAM.

I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL IF YOU COULD NOT FAVE A PHOTO

Lulworth Cove is a cove near the village of West Lulworth, on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, southern England. The cove is one of the world's finest examples of such a landform and is a World Heritage Site and tourist location with approximately 500,000 visitors every year, of whom about 30 percent visit in July and August. It is close to the rock arch of Durdle Door and other Jurassic Coast sites.

I always think that the best view of this coastline is gained from Bats's Head which is the furthest point on the right. Probably not the best place to walk out to the very end if you have a very strong wind but on a nice calm day the view is superb.

The Jurassic Coast is a World Heritage Site on the English Channel coast of southern England. It stretches from Exmouth in East Devon to Studland Bay in Dorset, a distance of about 96 mi (154 km).

At different times in the distant past, this area has been desert, shallow tropical sea and marsh, and the fossilised remains of the various creatures that lived here have been preserved in the rocks.

The 14mm lens is the Samyang which I rate very highly.

I was told that Ansel Adams said that after you've taken a photograph that you like, look behind you and there's another one.

Or words to that effect.

If anyone can confirm it, it will put my mind to rest.

Monday 25 January was such a beautiful day for walking one of my favourite sections of the Dorset coast. You don't often see this place without hundreds of people especially in the summer. With the lockdown there was only 7 people on the beach and throughout the whole day we only came across three other couples so no problem with social distancing. Just so lucky that this section of the coast is only 4.6 miles from where we live. Total circular walk is about 8 miles. If I walk it from home over the various footpaths it is lust over 19 miles.

You see this stunning place when walking down to Durdle Door. It's also whithin a short hike through a coastal path from Lulworth Cove.

A must see spot in England!!

Dorset is home to the World Heritage Site, the Jurassic Coastline, and is by far the most popular area in the UK to collect fossils.

The iconic Durdle Door is at the start on the East side of a 96 mile stretch.
