Had a very pleasant afternoon taking pictures at the races today. It's the first time I've been & the horses were magnificent!.This jockey just managed to hang on in this race, he looks like a Rodeo rider!
I do think it's a bit of a cruel sport, but it was a good opportunity to practice on large moving targets.

Jumping spiders live in a variety of habitats. Tropical forests harbor the most species, but they are also found in temperate forests, scrub lands, deserts, intertidal zones, and even mountains.
Jumping spiders are generally recognized by their eye pattern.
So my and my boy were jumping off of his new big boy bed. Well, it's not new, we just converted it to a daybed from his crib. He's so happy about it and jumps off of his bed constantly. I was sitting at the computer (probably on Flickr) when he yelled, "Mommy, come jump off my bed with me!" So I did. And I took a picture!
For GTWL, Props. My prop is my son's bed! :-)
On my way up to photograph the fire, I came across this gentleman, who was hopping the entire way to the summit. Man, he was in good shape.

A tan jumping spider was very happy in our bathroom. Unfortunately, I was required to relocate her to one of my basement plants. Hopefully she is happy there too.

Better crop of the previous shot. I really liked that they had a trampoline setup at the photowalk, it was really cool.
Me jumping off of billion year-old rock into the Coloardo river. Taken by a guy in one of the other rafts with a waterproof disposable camera. The water was realllllly cold.
a nice jump from a bridge in Austin's green belt into one of the many water holes found there. This one is found 30 minutes west of Zilker park. The water is VERY cold here. Unfortunately, the water levels vary and so one weekend might be full - the next empty. When I went two weeks ago it was fantastic. To the left is the famous aquaduct built in 1890 that crosses the Hill Country.
