#belovedcamera Week 1 - Timing is Everything - I finally figured out how to use the self-timer on my Nikon D5100 and seem to have tuned in to its groove. I love how I seem to be levitating in this one!

A documentary about the changing Burmese social and economic landscape, through the eyes of a community of labourers.
Dala Township, Myanmar
Young kids have found their joy and playground within the turbid waters. The area is rough and dirty, with tetanos laden sharp metal scraps, plastic debris, oil patches and organic waste emanating from an adjacent open air latrine.
A few day have passed and after Thingyan, the Burmese Buddhist New year, having returned to Dala, I found that the waters levels have risen. The 10-15 meter long stretch of beach, that acted as the major working and transit area, was submerged by the dark brown murky waters of the Yangon river

My son was having a good time climbing up and jumping from the back of the slide. During one of his rounds I asked him to hold, while daddy got his settings right and pre-focused and sort of pre-framed. Then I said go! I was in aperture mode and the bright sunny day gave a really fast shutter speed to freeze him nicely in mid air.
