At first I couldn't figure out what this thing was. It had a dial on front that looked like a radio, and a lamp holder. A giant fan? humidifier? Turns out it's a 1927 jukebox!
One of the spectacular examples of street art at Bristol's 2nd 'See No Evil' festival of street art. Coming one year on from the first groundbreaking show in Nelson Street close to the city centre, this year's event is connected to the London 2012 Festival which is timed to coincide with the Olympics and Paralympics. The artist who creative this piece is Nychos.
This is an old jukebox that plays 45's, they don't plug it in anymore, but it has some good stuff in it.
The friend I went to the concert with just had foot surgery and is in a wheelchair. So - she got to sit up front! Here is the view from her seat of the Jukebox, just before the concert begins.
Newly installed in one of the local watering holes - fantastic. It's got U2, NIN, Iron Maiden... you name it (well, almost!)
When Jukeboxes picked up a single, put it on the turntable and played it.
Like a 'Big CD' but one track per side..!!
