We sat outside this bar drinking for an hour or so, and were then moved inside.
Bad move in their part, as we proceeded to put The Hoff on the jukebox :p

Since I am basically all about things that are awesome, I am all about TrueBlood, and the frikfrakkin' second season starts tonight! This show has everything I look for in quality, vampire-based storytelling: Sex, violence, a Louisiana backwater, many fetching British actors speaking in sexy southern accents, and Allen Ball's masterly direction to keep the whole thing from veering too far into the campy camp or the "we are taking ourselves way too seriously considering we are a show about vampires" camp. The writing is funny, the characters are endearing, and the concept is one that lends itself to a lot of interesting social commentary, something that Ball explores far more than Charlaine Harris does in the novels upon which the show is based. Also, did I mention the sex and violence?
Bad Things, the song that plays over the opening credits, is such a great choice for this show. (Reading Rainbow voice, GO!) But don't take my word for it! The first season just came out on DVD. Ya'll can thank me later ;)
of course our table's jukebox was out of order... of course.
its only a tradition to play day-o (the banana boat song)
