$1 for Bicycle Race, Sweet Home Alabama, and Thriller. I was sad their "Best of Queen" didn't have Bohemian Rhapsody on it.

A photo of a replica of an original Wurlitzer jukebox

A display of replica jukeboxes in my friend Steve's room. The one on the right is really cool, you can actually select songs and before they play it makes realistic sounds of an old jukebox selecting a record and even has added surface noise when the song plays.

I'm posting this picture not so much for the picture as for the story that goes with it.

After several days of good restaurants and rich foods my wife and I decided maybe a pizza would be a good change of pace. I approached a couple of teenagers who appeared to be locals and asked where the best pizza in town would be and they both chimed Rosalies. So off to Rosalies we went.

After siiting down my eye caught what appeared to be an authentic juke box across the room. The place was crowded and the table nearest the jukebox was occupied by a young couple. When the guy got up and left the table I took my opportunity to get the shot. Standing near the young blond now sitting alone at the table, I heard her say "You must be a Taurus." My mind whirled, why was this pretty young girl asking my sign, and how the heck did she get it right. Always being quick with a retort, I blurted, "How did you know?" "Your camera." she said Now I was totally perplexed, but I moved on, Asking "are you one too?" "Yes , I am." she replied. Always being great at barroom banter I tried to think ,"what do I say next?" Well, I thought she somehow knows we are both Tauruses, I'll ask her birthday.

By this time her husband/ boyfriend was returning to see this guy talking to his girl, and asking "What is your birthday?" Her face just kind of froze and as a bewildered look crossed her face, my mind raced back to her original comment. "You must be a Taurus", "your camera" wait.... She said tourist, not Taurus. I burst out laughing as she continued to stare at me like I was a pervert.

After some explanation, we all had a good laugh and I proceeded to answer some questions she had about her own camera.

Oh, the pizzas at Rosalies are great and the price is right too!

I received this Seeburg jukebox as a gift from my in-laws for Christmas 2009. It's the Mardi Gras model from 1977. Nothing on it worked, and it was missing a lot of parts. I bought another one (for parts) and used eBay to get the rest of what I needed. I spent a lot of time replacing capacitors, transistors, bulbs, etc. I also repainted the blue part of the cabinet. Only thing left to do is load it with my favorite 70s music.

Thing with a digital jukebox is that if a jukebox has everything in the world in it, it is de facto full of stuff that sucks.

It is also jarring in the setting of the Bigfoot Lodge.
