Cholla up close and personal.

I went back to the Arch briefly to get a slightly different angle than before. This was the result.

An old abandoned general store near the Wall Street Mill in Joshua Tree National Park.

A strange parallax moment, the tree is ten or twelve feet high up against a distant 'cliff.'

This was scarier than it looks.

This may be the highest point in Joshua Tree, it's in about 1600 meters. The weather was really, really cold and windy, windchill must have been well below the freezing point.

This site that has been used by people for 1000s of years. A mortar hole was inside the shelter and another on the other side of the boulder out of the sun.

She was making a nest in a cactus that was just waist-high to a human, and was making it out of what looked like lint and used dryer sheets. It was actually a pocket that she could completely disappear into.
