The frontline base in the town of Garmsir, in Afghanistan's most troubled province of Helmand, FOB Delhi is at the sharp end of Afghanistan's frontline, a tiny camp that, along with the nearby Eastern checkpoint, the so called JTAC Hill has been repeatedly attacked by the Taliban since the British moved in last year. As British politicians emphasizing that the Taliban are losing the fight in southern Afghanistan the number of British soldiers killed in the country since 2001 reached 100. British troop numbers in Afghanistan will increase to a new high of more than 8,000 in 2008. The casualty rates for Britons serving in Afghanistan are now higher than those in Iraq.
