Returning some real winter wonderland had been on my wish-list for some time now and this winter offered real possibilities with its above average snow cover. Those completely frozen and snowed under trees reminded me more of some extraterrestrial creatures than just simple trees.

Photo from India could not get more cliche than this, and it is probably a reason why I didnt post it earlier, but revisiting some older photos, I think it should be part of my flickr stream too. Taken during very early morning sunrise just after opening the Taj Mahal gates, after additional hundreds and hundreds visitors got in as well, in a hope of beautiful morning experience. Nothing is more encouraging than a mile long queue at 4AM in the morning when you hope you'll have this beautiful place for yourself for at least a little while.

Durdle Door is one of the most photographed landmarks along the Jurassic Coast. This rock arch in the sea was formed as a result of the softer rocks being eroded away behind the hard limestones, allowing the sea to punch through them. Eventually the arch will collapse to leave a sea stack such as those that can be seen at Ladram Bay in East Devon. Below the cliffs lies a sweeping beach that was once three separate coves.

Less known than Plitvice Lakes, but equally stunning, the Krka National Park is situated along the Krka River in southern Croatia. It's known for a series of 7 waterfalls. In the south, Skradinski Buk waterfall is flanked by traditional watermills. To the north, a nature trail passes another striking cascade, Roški Slap.

Ever since road tripping in Australia I had a fascination for Boab / Baobab trees and any similar species.

Brachychiton rupestris, commonly known as the narrow-leaved bottle tree or Queensland bottle tree, is a tree in the family Malvaceae native to Queensland, Australia. Discovered and described by Sir Thomas Mitchell and John Lindley in 1848, it gained its name from its bulbous trunk, which can be up to 3.5 metres diameter at breast height. Reaching 10–25 metres high, the Queensland bottle tree is deciduous, losing its leaves between September and December. The leaves are simple or divided, with one or more narrow leaf blades up to 11 centimetres long and 2 centimetres wide. Cream flowers appear from September to November, and are followed by woody boat-shaped follicles that ripen from November to May.

Manarola is the second of the five hamlets found in Cinque Terre, a collection of tiny fishing villages perched along the Ligurian Coast. The tiny harbor at Manarola features a boat ramp, picturesque buildings tripping down the ravine and the town's swimming hole. Although there is no real beach here, it has some of the best deep-water swimming around.

Perched on a steep cape of dark rock, with its small port enclosed by two rocky boulders, a village of ancient origins found by the inhabitants of the (probably Roman) Volastra settlement. Manarola, like the other Cinque Terre villages, is known for its tower-houses; the layout of the village develops around the subsurface course of the Groppo stream which marks out its main axis. From the sunken stream a series of narrow stone-paved streets lead off towards houses and vegetable gardens on both sides of the cape. Parallel to the main axis runs the Via di Mezzo (Middle Street) that used to be a particularly important byway before the stream was covered over. Above the houses there lies an interesting square in which all the religious buildings are located. Another peculiarity of Manarola is a pyramid in white cement whose peak can be seen rising between the taller houses and is used as a navigational reference point for all those at sea.

Europe - Portugal - Portuguese archipelago - Madeira Island - East Coast - Ponta de São Lourenço - Sao Lourenco - Nature Reserve with wonderful panoramic views of the Atlantic and spectacular volcanic rock formations

Month of June with its longest days offers wonderful fully lit rocky shore by setting sun on the other side, that said if you are lucky and have a sun light at all. Madeira weather can be really playful and the island often hides in large clouds. I waited on this spot for 3 hours, just in case the sun showed up for short period of time. This wonderful light lasted only for 10 mins at the end of the long cloudy wait.

Czech Republic might be located in the middle of Europe, with the nearest sea located about 700km far away, however once upon the time, it used to be submerged in warm tropical sea waters. Main evidence of that are very unique multiple rocky sandstone towns created by forces of nature through millennia.

There are 4 different areas or those spectacular rocky towns - Bohemian Switzerland National Park (České Švýcarsko Národní park), Bohemian Paradise Protected Landscape Area (Český Ráj), Kokořínsko Protected Landscape Area & Adršpach.

This timelapse video captures some iconic locations in the first 3 mentioned areas.
