strobist.com how to : 1 580EX with homemade beauty dish (set manually at 1/8 at 24mm), handheld by a friend on the top left. shot with 17-40mm f4.0 L USM at 17mm iso 200 1/80 f5.6 trigger via canon ste-2.
additional notes :
a. recommend to use lens hood at wide angle.
b. a 26" inch diameter dish would be ideal, shoot not more than 3ft from the subject, placement right above the forehead - else it wont look so flattering.
c. personally, you don't need to use aperture more than f8 because it will drain the flash batteries and might be an overkill for a small confine space.
d. always good to refer to 580EX manual if you are not sure. i rtfm :S

The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. It is located in the middle of Beijing, China, and now houses the Palace Museum. For almost five hundred years, it served as the home of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government. Built in 1406 to 1420, the complex consists of 980 buildings with 8,707 bays of rooms and covers 720,000 m2 (7,800,000 sq ft). The palace complex exemplifies traditional Chinese palatial architecture, and has influenced cultural and architectural developments in East Asia and elsewhere. The Forbidden City was declared a World Heritage Site in 1987, and is listed by UNESCO as the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world.
Less usual view of Forbidden Palace, I was waiting for the lights to come up over palaces of Forbidden City after sunset, however only the main gate was lit with not very strong light. I had to set much more sensitive setting to get more colors out of the Forbidden city.

The Hungarian Parliament Building (Hungarian: Országház, literally country house) is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary, one of Europe's oldest legislative buildings, a notable landmark of Hungary and a popular tourist destination of Budapest. It lies in Lajos Kossuth Square, on the bank of the Danube, in Budapest. It is currently the largest building in Hungary. Similar to the Palace of Westminster, the Parliament Building is in the Gothic Revival style; it has a symmetrical facade and a central dome. It is 268 m (879 ft) long and 123 m (404 ft) wide. Its interior includes 10 courtyards, 13 passenger and freight elevators, 27 gates, 29 staircases and 691 rooms (including more than 200 offices). With its height of 96 m (315 ft), it is one of the two tallest buildings in Budapest, along with Saint Stephen's Basilica. The number 96 refers to the nation's millennium, 1896, and the conquest of the later Kingdom of Hungary in 896. The main façade faces the River Danube, but the official main entrance is from the square in front of the building. Inside and outside, there are altogether 242 sculptures on the walls.

It's the end of the world, I have decided to join the clone army: this is my 1st post with a mesh head! I tried to resist as much as I could as 1) I worked on my face (my beau-ti-ful face <3 ) for almost 10 years and 2) even if we can change the mesh heads a tiny bit, let's face it, we all look like we come from the same village where everybody is related but we all deny it and don't want to talk about it.

Prague - Praha is the capital and largest city of the Czech Republic. Nicknames for Prague have included Praga mater urbium/Praha matka měst ("Prague – Mother of Cities") in Latin/Czech, Stověžatá Praha ("City of a Hundred Spires") in Czech or Zlaté město/Goldene Stadt ("Golden City") in Czech/German. Situated on the Vltava River in central Bohemia, Prague has been the political, cultural and economic centre of the Czech state for more than 1100 years. For many decades during the Gothic and Renaissance eras, Prague was the permanent seat of two Holy Roman Emperors and thus was also the capital of the Holy Roman Empire. Since 1992, the extensive historic centre of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites, making the city one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe, receiving more than 4.1 million international visitors annually, as of 2009.
This is not an unusual view of Prague if you search for Prague through photo banks, however believe it or not, it was my first visit to this place. Maybe my parents took me there when I was very little but I have no memory of it. We often take things that are easily accessible for granted, this view was one of them for me when I lived in Prague in the past.

JOIN THE FAMILY CONTEST DETAILS
Each October the DRD team is out and about at the store handing out an exclusive collectible during our annual Halloween Hunt. This year we invite three of you to join us as part of the Deadmore family. You will receive an exclusive item to hand out to visitors, as well as a full set of our newest gacha plus, every hunt item...not to mention the family name!
REQUIREMENTS
➊ Create an image of your avatar dressed as a member of the Deadmore family. Our family is diverse and strange, humans, creatures, objects, ghosts and animals are all part of our DNA, so we know you could be anything at all.
➋ Create your name (Houseplant Deadmore for example) and a little bit about yourself. Where have you been? What are you up to? How did you lose an eye….we want to know.
➌ Submit your picture to our flickr group with the title “Join The Family Contest” along with the details you wrote about yourself in the description. It is also IMPORTANT to add your inworld name so we can find you!
➍ Make sure you submit before the last day! September 27th!

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
Images will be collected from the group and placed into a gallery. If your image is in the Join The Family Contest gallery, you can be sure we have seen it.
Three family members will be chosen to take on the last name Deadmore and join us during the month of October to hand out their exclusive gift. We ask that you show up as often as you can during the month and spend as much time as you like at the store. Don’t worry about committing heavily to this, we will have alternative ways for people to collect your item if you are unable to come around enough, but some participation will be expected.

MORE ABOUT OUR HUNTS
During the month of October (1st-31st) DRD hosts a major Halloween hunt at the store. This hunt has two components.
1. Hunting for items that are scattered throughout the store.
2. Saying a special phrase to designated family members so they will pass you a special item.
As part of the hunt you would be in the store, dressed and named as a family member. You and the other family members, would then hand out an item to people who are on the sim and have requested it with the special phrase. They look to collect every family members item, so making an appearance, on your own schedule, regularly, throughout the month would be expected. We will make arrangements to have your item made available if you can't come around much but do consider this when entering.
