This was between Happy Isles and Tuolumne Meadows in Yosemite. This guy comes walking up the trail behind us. At first I thought it was someone's dog. Then he just goes around us and continues up the trail.

Sunset on the ridge above Sharktooth Creek, one of our favorite places to camp in the area. No people for two days in this area as well. We left the first footprints on the snow higher up leading to Goodale Pass.

One more section of the JMT completed. North from Cottonwood Pass Trailhead to Soldier Lake, over Guyot Pass to Crabtree Meadow (to Mount Whitney) to Tyndall Creek, over Forester Pass to Vidette Meadow, over Kearsarge Pass and out of Onion Valley

In any group I am always the least fit. I'm amazed that I could stand up to take this picture.

these two marmots were really, really into eating Andrea's pee-spot from the night before. they didn't at all mind how close we were getting to them. "watering the marmots" thus became our euphemism for the rest of the trip.
