2010 Alaska Senate candidate Joe Miller has found his seat in an Outhouse instead of a seat in the US Senate. No surprise - he didn't win this race either.

(Sommers staff - suggest replacing the existing text submitted by Jim Haggart Aug 10, 2016 with this) Submitted by Jim Haggart and Dave Karthauser, June 17, 2017 Troop 68 of Arlington, Texas (Longhorn Council). Scoutmaster: Dave Karthauser Back row: Joe Miller, guide; Steve Smith, probably crew leader; John Pitstick; Dave Karthauser; Unknown Middle row: Kevin Grant; Robert Rau; Mike Hill; Unknown Front row: Jim Haggart (Dallas, TX); Ron Pricket; David Karthauser, son of Dave; Bill Loflin We traveled from Arlington to Ely on a bus with our sister crew, as well as some boys who were too young for the Sommers trip and who went on an independent trip with another outfitter. Our crew attempted to do the Hunters Island circuit, but had to head south once we got to Shelley Lake, at the northern tip of the circuit, as we were running out of time. When we were camped at Agnes Lake later in the trip, Dave got everyone up at 2 in the morning to look at the full moon. He then told everyone that there was plenty of light, so we might as well break camp and get going down Agnes Lake, as it was going to be a long day. There was lots of grumbling, but we did it nonetheless. Then, early in the morning we were paddling across a glassy Agnes with the fog sitting right on the water and the sun just above. In the early afternoon, we took a break for a couple of hours and then the wind came up, producing 3' waves. Dave reminded everyone that if we had slept in that morning until the normal time, we would have been battling the waves on Agnes that much longer!

AB800 in large ocatabox camera right, aimed 90 degrees across scene, about 2 feet in front of it.
AB800 back camera left, with 20 degree grid as hair/separation light
3x6 white reflector just off to the left, for fill.
On black seamless.
Triggered by a mini TT1 on a 1DmkIII, with a PlusII on the AB800/octa. Hair light was slaved.
Strobist:
580ExII into an umbrella to camera left, also up about 4 feet.
Camera and shooter are practically in the gravel.
Ambient is underexposed by about 1.5 -> 2 stops, and the 580 output was adjusted to the current exposure.
Based on polls by Hays Research Group. "Write-in candidate" would mostly be Lisa Murkowski. Mainly this shows the nosedive that Joe Miller's campaign seems to be taking... deservedly.
Susan Gritz and Brandon Fernald.
Gritz-Fernald Wedding Rehearsal Dinner at the Kansas City Barbeque. This was the location of the bar scene in the movie Top Gun, and this was the piano where Goose, the Big Stud, was told to "Take me to bed or lose me forever..."
