I never expected to see one of these on Mt. Diablo, and at first I thought I was mistaken. Perhaps this was a variation of Baby-Blue-Eyes, but no, this must be one of the 85 species that have traveled to this little mountain in North America.
Tradescantia is a genus of 85 species of herbaceous perennial wildflowers in the family Commelinaceae, native to the Americas from southern Canada to northern Argentina, including the West Indies. Members of the genus are known by many common names, including inchplant, wandering jew, spiderwort, and dayflower.
If you want to see diversity in flowers well, when I was a kid in New England, every adult's home that I visited would have a Wandering Jew - no, that still doesn't work, a green and white striped spiderwort hanging in the window so that it could get through winter. So, here's my contribution to more color for you trying to get through winter and you don't even have to hang it in the window.
Plants of the genus are called by many common names, varying by region and country. The name "inchplant" is thought to describe the plant's fast growth, or the fact that leaves are an inch apart on the stem. "Spiderwort" refers to the sap which dries into web-like threads when a stem is cut. The name "dayflower", shared with other members of the Commelinaceae family, refers to the flowers which open and close within a single day.
The controversial name "wandering Jew" originates from the Christian myth of the Wandering Jew, condemned to wander the earth for taunting Jesus on the way to his crucifixion. In recent years there have been efforts to stop using this and other potentially offensive common names, in favour of alternatives such as "wandering dude". Only in this world today would there be an attempt to change the name to "wandering dude!" Why now just call it the Qandering It in the window?"
Btw, this plant had about a seven foot wide spread and four foot deep under trees and in fairly deep shade. The flower is perhaps a half-an-inch, and it's the only purple plant I know.
Has its many tributaries on the Great Dividing Range, 5.5km east of Ben Bullen and 2km west of Baal Bone Gap. It flows for about 14km generally south west, then west and north into the Turon River. The Sydney Gazette, 10th August 1844, p. 1, records that at Jews Creek there was a boiling establishment. One of the by products was to extract tallow from sheep fat to make candles. The Maitland Mercury, 3rd August 1844, p. 3, records,"The Boiling Establishment at Jews Creek is now in full operation, capable of boiling down 3,500 sheep or 300 head of cattle per week." Jews Creek was most likely named due to the Jewish owners nearby. Ref: Rolls, Eric. A Million - Wild Acres, 1981, p. 146. Lang, John Dunmore. An Historical and Statistical Account of New South Wales, 1875, p. 221 records, "Kuen Guen, or Jew's Creek."

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

"Im Jew." - as we walked and looked around the fleamarkt on this day, we saw this old man. In front of his chest hang a Jude star showing probably hes Jew. Hes maybe trying to remind people of history.
The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, or the Holocaust Memorial as it is commonly known, is a series of blocks of varying height on undulating ground near the Brandenburg Gate. It was designed by Peter Eisenmann and Buro Happold. It opened to the public in 2005.
The cold slabs, stained with rain while I was there, coffin like in their floor dimensions but rising higher in the middle are extremely thought provoking and a moving experience.

I saw this record at the thrift store today and thought it was kinda strange. Not because they are Jews for Jesus but because they are driving around in my old van!!

This beautiful Jew Fish was caught off the wall below on the Richmond river in Ballina NSW, this guy was stocked as it was his biggest ever catch, he initially thought it was a shark.
Ultra-Orthodox Jews, by and large, seek to separate themselves from the non-religious world. Aside from their distinctive style of dress, they carry out the separation of sexes more stringently – for example, in their schools, separation between girls’ and boys’ classes begins as early as first grade. Many Ultra-Orthodox men will not even listen to the voice of a woman singing on the radio lest they think improper thoughts – this is called “kol isha” (the “voice of a woman”).
The photo taken was used with a NikonD40x with a zoom capacity of 55-200 mm. The men in the photo were sitting on a green bench in New York. The photograph was taken with the ISO set for 200 and the white balance on auto. The editing program used to edit the photo was Aperture for Apple.
The Shoes on the Danube Bank is a Memorial erected to honour the Jews who were killed by fascist Arrow Cross militiamen in Budapest during World War II. They were ordered to take off their shoes, and were shot at the edge of the water so that their bodies fell into the river and were carried away. It represents their shoes left behind on the bank.
