Steep Hill in Lincoln, Lincolnshire.
It started out as a footpath behind the Roman road Ermine Street. In the 11th Century Ermine Street was diverted east to the current route of The Strait & Steep Hill. It was previously named The Poultry after the local poultry market, then Polther Hill, the Pultry before taking its current name Steep Hill in 1732. The part between Well Lane and Strait was called Foot of the Hill in 1826.
The Stamford Mercury in 1856 and Williamsons 1901 Guide to Lincoln also record the name Bower or Bowyers/Bowers Hill to Steep Hill, this was perhaps a short section on the west side opposite the Mayors Chair. John Speeds original 1607 survey plan names it Bore Hill. Lease plans of the early 19th century market it as High Street.
Two Norman houses lie on the street, Jew's House and Norman House, the latter formerly known as "Aaron the Jew's House". Both display characteristic Norman mullioned windows. Adjacent to and above the Jew's House stands Jew's Court, said to be from the Norman period but not displaying any obvious Norman features. There are some jettied half-timbered houses towards the top.
Has its many tributaries on the Great Dividing Range, 5.5km east of Ben Bullen and 2km west of Baal Bone Gap. It flows for about 14km generally south west, then west and north into the Turon River. The Sydney Gazette, 10th August 1844, p. 1, records that at Jews Creek there was a boiling establishment. One of the by products was to extract tallow from sheep fat to make candles. The Maitland Mercury, 3rd August 1844, p. 3, records,"The Boiling Establishment at Jews Creek is now in full operation, capable of boiling down 3,500 sheep or 300 head of cattle per week." Jews Creek was most likely named due to the Jewish owners nearby. Ref: Rolls, Eric. A Million - Wild Acres, 1981, p. 146. Lang, John Dunmore. An Historical and Statistical Account of New South Wales, 1875, p. 221 records, "Kuen Guen, or Jew's Creek."

Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

All the photos I present were taken on the two suggestive beaches overlooking Taormina, the Isola Bella beach and the Mazzarò bay beach respectively; these two beaches, both known for their enchanting beauty, have been the scene of stories that few know, time has only partially healed ancient tears; Mazzarò was chosen by a family of unfortunate Jews made up of four people, who, persecuted by the Nazi-Fascist ferocity, decided to commit suicide by tying all four together with a rope, then weighed down with stones, they let themselves slip from a boat into the deep waters near the Mazzarò rock, called “Scogghia Longa”; the "Isola Bella" (its original name was "rock of Santo Stefano") was named by an English noblewoman, Lady Florence Trevelyan, a relative of Queen Victoria, who did so much for Taormina (a woman of truly extraordinary qualities), tells of a young English officer who died on a ship on which he was embarked, a Brigantine who patrolled the Strait of Messina to discourage Napoleonic soldiers from disembarking from Calabria in Sicily, the captain out of respect for the Royal Family (to which, let's remember, Lady Florence belonged), instead of entrusting her body to the sea as was the custom at the time, she had it buried on top of the island. I made photos related to "beach photography" (a genre similar to "street photography"); I have photographed young and old people… with a great desire for the sea and a great desire to dive into the water to do some swimming; I made some photo-portraits of people I did not know, I thank them very much for their sympathy and their availability; I tried to capture the essence of minimal photographic stories, collected walking on the beaches ... in search of fleeting fleeting moments ...
I used a particular photographic technique for some photographs at the time of shooting, which in addition to capturing the surrounding space, also "inserted" a temporal dimension, with photos characterized by being moved because the exposure times were deliberately lengthened, they are confused -focused-imprecise-undecided ... the Anglo-Saxon term that encloses this photographic genre with a single word is "blur", these images were thus created during the shooting phase, and not as an effect created subsequently, in retrospect, in the post-production .

Tutte le foto che presento sono state realizzate sulle due suggestive spiagge prospicienti Taormina, rispettivamente la spiaggia dell’Isola Bella, e la spiaggia della baia di Mazzarò; queste due spiagge, entrambe conosciute per la loro incantevole bellezza, sono state teatro di storie che pochi conoscono, il tempo ha solo in parte guarito antiche lacrime; Mazzarò fu scelta da una famiglia di sventurati ebrei composta da quattro persone, i quali, perseguitati dalla ferocia nazi-fascista, decisero di suicidarsi legandosi tutti e quattro tra loro con una corda, poi appesantiti con pietre, si lasciarono scivolare da una barca nelle profonde acque nei pressi dello scoglio di Mazzarò, chiamato “scogghia Longa”; l’Isola Bella (il suo nome originario era “scoglio di Santo Stefano”) fu così chiamata da un nobildonna inglese, lady Florence Trevelyan, parente della regina Vittoria, che tanto si prodigò per Taormina (una donna dalle qualità veramente straordinarie), si narra di un giovane ufficiale inglese che morì su di una nave sulla quale era imbarcato, un Brigantino che pattugliava lo stretto di Messina per scoraggiare i soldati Napoleonici dallo sbarcare dalla Calabria in Sicilia, il capitano per rispetto della Famiglia Reale (alla quale, ricordiamoci, apparteneva lady Florence), invece di affidarne il corpo al mare come si usava all’epoca, lo fece seppellire in cima all’Isola. Ho realizzato foto riconducibili alla “beach photography” (un genere affine alla “street photography”); ho fotografato persone giovani e meno giovani…con tanta voglia di mare e tanta voglia di immergersi in acqua per fare qualche nuotata; ho realizzato alcuni foto-ritratti di persone che non conoscevo, le ringrazio veramente tanto per la loro simpatia e la loro disponibilità; ho cercato di cogliere al volo l’essenza di storie fotografiche minime, raccolte camminando sulle spiagge... alla ricerca di attimi fugaci s-fuggenti ...
Ho utilizzato per alcune fotografie una tecnica fotografica particolare al momento dello scatto, che oltre a catturare lo spazio circostante, ha "inserito" anche una dimensione temporale, con foto caratterizzate dall’essere mosse poiché volutamente sono stati allungati i tempi di esposizione, sono confuse-sfocate-imprecise-indecise...il termine anglosassone che racchiude con una sola parola questo genere fotografico è "blur", queste immagini sono state così realizzate in fase di scatto, e non come un effetto creato successivamente, a posteriori, in fase di post-produzione.---------------------------------------------------------
"Im Jew." - as we walked and looked around the fleamarkt on this day, we saw this old man. In front of his chest hang a Jude star showing probably hes Jew. Hes maybe trying to remind people of history.
The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, or the Holocaust Memorial as it is commonly known, is a series of blocks of varying height on undulating ground near the Brandenburg Gate. It was designed by Peter Eisenmann and Buro Happold. It opened to the public in 2005.
The cold slabs, stained with rain while I was there, coffin like in their floor dimensions but rising higher in the middle are extremely thought provoking and a moving experience.
I saw this record at the thrift store today and thought it was kinda strange. Not because they are Jews for Jesus but because they are driving around in my old van!!
Jewish Museum Berlin. Yellow stars of David that were forced to be sewn on Jewish people's clothing by the Nazis just before WWII. This images speaks volumes and brings tears to my eyes.

Fort Lauderdale is a city in the U.S. state of Florida, 25 miles (40 km) north of Miami. It is the county seat of Broward County. As of the 2019 census, the city has an estimated population of 182,437. Fort Lauderdale is a principal city of the Miami metropolitan area, which was home to an estimated 6,198,782 people in 2018.
The city is a popular tourist destination, with an average year-round temperature of 75.5 °F (24.2 °C) and 3,000 hours of sunshine per year. Greater Fort Lauderdale which takes in all of Broward County hosted 12 million visitors in 2012, including 2.8 million international visitors. The city and county in 2012 collected $43.9 million from the 5% hotel tax it charges, after hotels in the area recorded an occupancy rate for the year of 72.7 percent and an average daily rate of $114.48. The district has 561 hotels and motels comprising nearly 35,000 rooms. Forty six cruise ships sailed from Port Everglades in 2012. Greater Fort Lauderdale has over 4,000 restaurants, 63 golf courses, 12 shopping malls, 16 museums, 132 nightclubs, 278 parkland campsites, and 100 marinas housing 45,000 resident yachts.
Fort Lauderdale is named after a series of forts built by the United States during the Second Seminole War. The forts took their name from Major William Lauderdale (1782–1838), younger brother of Lieutenant Colonel James Lauderdale. William Lauderdale was the commander of the detachment of soldiers who built the first fort. However, development of the city did not begin until 50 years after the forts were abandoned at the end of the conflict. Three forts named "Fort Lauderdale" were constructed; the first was at the fork of the New River, the second at Tarpon Bend on the New River between the Colee Hammock and Rio Vista neighborhoods, and the third near the site of the Bahia Mar Marina.
The area in which the city of Fort Lauderdale would later be founded was inhabited for more than two thousand years by the Tequesta Indians. Contact with Spanish explorers in the 16th century proved disastrous for the Tequesta, as the Europeans unwittingly brought with them diseases, such as smallpox, to which the native populations possessed no resistance. For the Tequesta, disease, coupled with continuing conflict with their Calusa neighbors, contributed greatly to their decline over the next two centuries. By 1763, there were only a few Tequesta left in Florida, and most of them were evacuated to Cuba when the Spanish ceded Florida to the British in 1763, under the terms of the Treaty of Paris (1763), which ended the Seven Years' War. Although control of the area changed between Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Confederate States of America, it remained largely undeveloped until the 20th century.
The Fort Lauderdale area was known as the "New River Settlement" before the 20th century. In the 1830s there were approximately 70 settlers living along the New River. William Cooley, the local Justice of the Peace, was a farmer and wrecker, who traded with the Seminole Indians. On January 6, 1836, while Cooley was leading an attempt to salvage a wrecked ship, a band of Seminoles attacked his farm, killing his wife and children, and the children's tutor. The other farms in the settlement were not attacked, but all the white residents in the area abandoned the settlement, fleeing first to the Cape Florida Lighthouse on Key Biscayne, and then to Key West.
The first United States stockade named Fort Lauderdale was built in 1838, and subsequently was a site of fighting during the Second Seminole War. The fort was abandoned in 1842, after the end of the war, and the area remained virtually unpopulated until the 1890s. It was not until Frank Stranahan arrived in the area in 1893 to operate a ferry across the New River, and the Florida East Coast Railroad's completion of a route through the area in 1896, that any organized development began. The city was incorporated in 1911, and in 1915 was designated the county seat of newly formed Broward County.
Fort Lauderdale's first major development began in the 1920s, during the Florida land boom of the 1920s. The 1926 Miami Hurricane and the Great Depression of the 1930s caused a great deal of economic dislocation. In July 1935, an African-American man named Rubin Stacy was accused of robbing a white woman at knife point. He was arrested and being transported to a Miami jail when police were run off the road by a mob. A group of 100 white men proceeded to hang Stacy from a tree near the scene of his alleged robbery. His body was riddled with some twenty bullets. The murder was subsequently used by the press in Nazi Germany to discredit US critiques of its own persecution of Jews, Communists, and Catholics.
When World War II began, Fort Lauderdale became a major US base, with a Naval Air Station to train pilots, radar operators, and fire control, operators. A Coast Guard base at Port Everglades was also established.
On July 4, 1961, African Americans started a series of protests, wade-ins, at beaches that were off-limits to them, to protest "the failure of the county to build a road to the Negro beach". On July 11, 1962, a verdict by Ted Cabot went against the city's policy of racial segregation of public beaches.
Today, Fort Lauderdale is a major yachting center, one of the nation's largest tourist destinations, and the center of a metropolitan division with 1.8 million people.

This beautiful Jew Fish was caught off the wall below on the Richmond river in Ballina NSW, this guy was stocked as it was his biggest ever catch, he initially thought it was a shark.
The photo taken was used with a NikonD40x with a zoom capacity of 55-200 mm. The men in the photo were sitting on a green bench in New York. The photograph was taken with the ISO set for 200 and the white balance on auto. The editing program used to edit the photo was Aperture for Apple.
The Shoes on the Danube Bank is a Memorial erected to honour the Jews who were killed by fascist Arrow Cross militiamen in Budapest during World War II. They were ordered to take off their shoes, and were shot at the edge of the water so that their bodies fell into the river and were carried away. It represents their shoes left behind on the bank.
