With the departing Merlins behind, Culdrose based, Scottish Aviation Jetstream ZA111/CU565 gets airborne from RNAS Yeovilton in Somerset.
Designed by Handley-Page the Jetstream was selected as a contender by the USAF as a new navigation trainer but when HP got into difficulties the production line stalled until Scottish Aviation stepped in.
However , while the USAF contract never happened, along with a highly a successful civilian sales book, the Jetstream was selected by both the RAF and the Royal Navy for twin engine and navigation training. The Saudi Air Force also aquired them for similar duties too and many small US airlines used them as feederliners.
All the RAF and Navy examples were retired with the latter ones replaced by the Beechcraft Avenger - a military version of their King Air.

Two exhibitions in one evening. I'm soo cultural. (Or is it just the free beer?)
First I went to a privat view from Experimental Jetset, a design group from Amsterdam. They exhibited in one of the nice galleries around Charlotte Road.
Later we went back to good old Dragon bar, where some other people had some ... other exhibition. But they didn't put their names up, so I guess they wanted to remain anonymous?? I like this idea though; This bar has a spare room that is usually not open to the public and every week or so, they let young artists organize some exhibition.

I love Augustiner - and I live in Sweden right now. I can't get no Augustiner there so I decided to take some with me and invite some good friends to have a taste of it.
I got some strange looks, some laughs and others (especially the Swedes) were cheering for me and of course the beer.
In case you want to copy this: No problem with the airline. No complains about glass or anything. I just put some strong cardboard on top and fixed it with a string so the bottles couldn't fall out. Together with the ground personal we decided to check the crate at the bulky goods counter so it wouldn't be tipped over by the automated baggage belts. The overall weight is almost 20kg so keep your limit in mind. I had to pay for some excess weight - but it was worth it!
Challenge week 5

Daria loves the opera- the clothes, the furs, the gowns, dripping with jewels, and she is in her element at this event....ahh, she's able to smoke and look stunning with her shower of blonde hair rippling over her rare fur....Besides the exotic smokes, she's standing near one of the opera house mirrors so her stunning self will make the attendees gasp at the beauty in silver and diamonds reflected in the opera house mirrors....oh gloves? those silly things,...why darling, then you wouldn't be able to see the diamonds on perfectly manicured hands...no, you can't stand with me behind the ropes, just gape as you walk by and gasp at my beauty before the opera.....
