Jesse Jones is not a well known historical character to most Americans, but he deserves to be well remembered:

They renamed this bridge after Sam Houston, but he has enough stuff named after him (not that I have anything against Sam). The sailors still call it the Jesse Jones Bridge, or the Beltway bridge, or "the two dollah bridge".

www.texasfreeway.com/houston/photos/bw8/bw8_mainlanes_eas... has an interesting story on the construction of the bridge. I wish they had waited a couple of years to build a cable stayed bridge. It would have been much more attractive.

The Beltway 8 toll bridge over the Houston Ship Channel. Known to mariners as the "Two Dolla Bridge". It started life officially as the Jesse Jones Bridge but I think it was changed to the Sam Houston Bridge. I still call it the Jesse Jones. Sam was a great guy, but he has a whole lot of stuff named after him. Jesse has an interesting bio too: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesse_H._Jones

The design was generated by digitally filtering images of plants symbolic of Italy that are native to the site of the painting in Brooklyn. The curators theme - La coda del topo – is also a book by Daniele Castellani which examines education, environment and technology.

Pendleton, Oregon — This year marks the 100th anniversary of the famed Pendleton Round-Up (rodeo) and was the biggest event in its history.

Members of the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation – the Umatilla, Cayuse, and Walla Walla Indians who live on a reservation eight miles east of Pendleton -host a grand tribal village that annually includes more than 300 teepees. Center to right: Chief Jesse Jones, Chief Bill Burke, and Thomas Morning Owl, in the background.

The 3rd Annual Welling Court Mural Project, organized in 2011 by Ad Hoc Art. transformed several city blocks in Astoria into a 24/7 street-level gallery.

These are photographs taken of a video art work by Jesse Jones called "The Selfish Act of Community" from 2012, currently shown in the exhibition "Salon der Angst" at the Kunsthalle in Vienna, Austria.

This first series of photographs, I took directly of the wall the video was projected on, whereas the second series are photographs of a reflection of the video in a large window to one of the sides of the projection wall.

I converted the images into black and white and added a blur effect as well as a strong contrast which often blows out the whites and turns large areas of the image into black deleting everything else than the face of the person from the image.

My boots are looking a little worn these days. They've walked me through high school hallways, road marches, and many toddler chases. For 16 year old boots I say they're still looking good though.
