Kota Gede was once the first capital of the Mataram Kingdom (16th century).

-"betweenn two gates"
-Omah UGM house
-Rumah Adat Joglo (Joglo traditional house.
This is the famous Buddhist temple of Borobudur.
Actually it's a small hill converted into a huge temple, with a long winding path circling around its base. And on top/roof of the building you see a lot of these bells (stupas). In each a Buddha is seated (hardly visible).
Fortunately one of the bells missed its top, see sketch. I managed to make the ink sketch on location, before the guide and our group proceeded to the next sight.

Java and Balin stretch out for a break on my desk. If they stretch out just a little more my laptop will be on the floor. Fortunately, I am familiar with their wily ways! They are brothers, one long hair and one short hair. They were in constant physical contact like this the entire first year.
